I'm totally for the idea of cleaning out the trash so to speak (no offence meant), but wouldn't it be easier to do it without removing the rank from everyone. Obviously you can evaluate the staff/mods whether they have the rank or not and kick the lazy bones... big phail imo

Clearly. Some people were here because they had powers and felt above others and not for the better of the community. This is probably the best thing hiker could've done.

And for those leaving who probably can't read. Hiker clearly stated that you can probably reattain your ranks. Soo uhh... yeah :]

Honestly hiker, I've stood by your ideas of 'change' even when they made absolutely no sense to me. Like the change from phpbb2 to phpbb3; didn't quite fly with me at first, but I stood by your decision, because you promised us that change was a good thing.

But, wow lol. Now I understand why everyone complains that the admins are the underlying reason for all the crap that happens at RV. You always told us that being a mod was a thankless job, but we at least got our thanks from the admins when we did our job. So what does this mean?

I'm not going to leave RV for this, and I really hope all my other fellow mods will stick around too. My position at RV, although it was very important to me, was certainly not everything. I still have a bunch of friends here who I will stick around for. I was doing fine before I ever became a mod, so this shouldn't change much. Maybe I'll be able to speak my full opinion now, without worrying about losing my fancy rank, lol.





Please shut the hell up, Tweedy. The only reason you're feeding us this crap is because you were recently promoted to admin. I guarantee your words would be different if this had happened a few weeks ago, back when you were one of us.

First of all, [yay!!] RV 2.0 is coming !

Secondly, I do understand that some cleaning was required, but removing all hard-earned ranks is kind of unfair.
I myself would be angry too, but I don't mind actually, because the rank just shows how helpful and active you are in RV.
By no means is this a competition. If you deserve to be promoted then you will be promoted again I guess.

I hope tomorrow we'll have RV 2.0 + April fools

How the would you feel if you worked hard for the site, then got kicked out of a select group that you was invited to? I'll tell you how. You would feel devastated. The staff, whilst not highly ranked on RV, put a lot of work AND THEIR OWN TIME INTO RV. Without us, RV would be half the site it is today. Do you have any IDEA how much work I have put in behind the scenes? The guide coders forum is RUN by me. I do everything in there. WIthout that it would be up to Glodenox to code the guide, since nobody else seems to have enough commitment to join up. But Glode, for whom my respect has increased, just doesn't have the time - and neither should he. Staff are appointed for a reason. If you take away the reward you lose all the work.

well im not sure if i should join this discussion or not....but i have one thing to say...that is if this isn't a joke and is it true... its funny how fast someone will turn on people... i did have a lot of respect for these people but some of that is gone now...

RV has been my e-home for like ages. I trusted the administration to make wise descisions. In all time, that I spent here, I felt welcome.
I started helping out people who knew less then me, reported posts to moderators (spambots, and the like), got promoted to legend, and eventually to moderator. No single moment have I done it for the power that I would have over others, I did it, because I felt that it was the right thing to do.

And now you let me down this way. My home has exiled me.
