I would have assassinated him if he won, anyway.

No one comes in the way of the Jackstick & Jaron presidency. Nothing stops this train.
We buried Frank under a mountain of Visible Cookies from our Cookie Generator. Likewise, Cronus was buried under a mountain of Invisible Cookies. It all went according to plan.

Likewise, Frank should have been elected head admin after the Hiker incident. Frankville would have been a booming website, just under 9gag for activity.

Uh.

Actually, there isn't a point in debating this, is there?

Fuzzy Bunny that's a lot of old names.
I feel I became inactive on RV around the same time that the decline came (Everyone clearly left because I did). For me, I left because I started university and started having more serious relationships.
RV has helped me grow so much over the years, I joined many years ago as a young, angry and immature teenager, and now I'm a 22 year old, angry and immature student. But my anger and immaturity are normally a bit more banterous than anything.

I've made a lot of friends and a lot of enemies on here, and I'd hate to never speak to them again, there's a few that I still speak to and a few that I'd really love to meet at some point in my life.

I'm all for the Reddit page or even Facebook, but I see Reddit being better than FB.

I will follow this thread for as long as it goes, but it's time for the village to submit to the flames.

Runevillage the forum is pretty well much done. Runevillage the group will eventually die, but as long as we're still friends with each other in the end, it's still a pretty big thought in our heads. Runevillage the family is forever, no matter where we settle down. If absolutely nothing else ever comes of Runevillage in the future, that alone is a pretty damn awesome thought.

I suppose the time to say goodbye is finally upon us. As sad as it is, we all knew this was coming. I figured this would have happened quite some time ago. Every time I decided to visit, I always worried I would come to see the site shut down. If there is any way to preserve the forums costlessly or as close as possible I'm all for it. If we can, I want us to have a way to keep in touch still, either through FB, Reddit, or a new forum or free board or whatever is required. Even though activity here is almost 0%, the few topics and posts that do happen are still enjoyable for me to read. I love everyone of you that has been and still is here. We were one incredible family and I hope we can stay in touch no matter what. 11 years here is no short term for anything. If anyone cares, add me on Fb. Louis Badeaux residing in Douglas, Alaska.

I will still continue my visits until the plug gets pulled.

Hold on folks, we might be being a bit premature on this. I just crunched the numbers and it appears like November is going to be a big month for us activity-wise. If we can make posts talking about closing the site every month that could be enough to keep us going. Something to think about.

Oo, and we could have themed months explaining why the site's being shut down. December could be Christmas related!

I miss themed months.

Not sure how I feel about this. I try to at least browse the forum every now and again but I've noticed the decline as well since I rarely see new topics.

If it does go offline, then R.i.p. I've moved away from Runescape and work full time and go to a University, and I've gained bursts of interest with runescape every now and then but it fades away after maybe a month.

Thee was a band I was into once that had an amazing forum. It was one day without warning removed from the bands site. They said it "was going against what the band stood for" or some nonsense. I joined RV. A year or so later someone keylogged my computer and stole my *very* hard earned x-mad cracker and other rares. I quit RS & RV together. I then joined another bands forum. *IT* died due to a cracker getting in and basically deleting everything. I came back to RV. I went to jail again. And again. And again. Everytime I got out, RV was waiting *including my last stint of 15 months. I can't believe this is happening. I have no fall back to plan. RV was always here when everything else took a Fuzzy Bunny and died. This makes me sad. I feel like a damned forum killer. I am cursed.

A FB page will be useless, btw.

FML.

so for those of you who recognise this name you will know I have never been one for forums, hell the chat eventually died out to the ingame clan chat so i stuck to just using that (yay for aussie time zone)
that said, those of you who know me, are like me and dont generally consider people on the site to be friends.... but family
The site itself was named so accurately because it was a "village"
The memories of this place are countless and priceless to say the least. Hell i remember one day realizing i went to school with a fellow member and i couldnt believe it.

Now I know i havent used the site itself for a very long time, that doesnt mean the following song i have made revisions too isnt completely relevant all the same.

I've been to cities that never close down,
from New York to Rio and old London town,
but no matter how far or how wide I roam,
I still call Australia home.

I'm always travelling, I love being free,
and so I keep leaving the sun and the sea,
but my heart lies waiting over the foam,
I still call Runevillage home.

All the sons and daughters spinning 'round the world,
away from their family and friends,
but as the world gets older and colder,
it's good to know where your journey ends.
Someday we'll all be together once more,
when all of the ships come back to the shore,
Ill realise something I've always known,
I still call Runevillage home.

but no matter how far or wide I roam,
I still call Runevillage I still call Runevillage, I still call Runevillage home.
but no matter how far or wide I roam,
I still call Runevillage I still call Runevillage, I still call Runevillage home.

I say keep the forums up in some capacity at least. I don't know to what extent we can freely host it. Because that seems to be the central point of the issue. If we can find a free method or super-cheap method of hosting the RV forums.

We have articles, and posts on the main site that you'd think would draw people in.. but all our efforts don't seem to draw people in.

So at this point the forums simply serve as a place for us to chat now and then.. The RV chat almost never has anyone in it because we can see that nobody's in it. So people look and see "0 users in chat" and don't sit in there... a self perpetuating cycle.

So I'd propose we should. keep the runevillage clan on rs... at least a few are active* in that.. and keep a forum of sorts. I don't know to what scale we should draw it down or if it even really matters how far we do or don't. If we have to find a free host, that might be the best course.

I think in some capacity, RV should remain existant, but if it means going to a free host, ok that's just the breaks. It'll serve as a means for people to come and go and keep in touch. RV's been a big part of a lot of our lives, so I think we need to have that avenue of finding people from rv again.

And on top of that...
if RV totally went away.

It would be a pain in the ass to find somewhere else to host my novel story thing i'm writing...
