I think so. It would be kinda interesting to see if your guess is right. That's just me though.

No no no nooooooes. No way! Definitely not. That would way ramp up the whole process of elimination thing. If you're down to ~5 players it would probably be pretty easy to know who's who because everyone else was revealed.

I was under the impression this idea was so we could eliminate the whole concept of veteran players and negate what we expect out of different people. By revealing anything--anything at all--that turns the game back to what we always have around Day 3 or 4. It wouldn't be of any benefit at all to have a game where the only time everyone is anonymous is Day 1. If I play, I don't intend on revealing who I am, and that also means that people should be free to think I'm still in the game to the very end, even if I died Night 1.

(It would be fine to reveal everyone at once when the game is over though, I would think.)

I feel the mafia have to know who eachother are, the entire game relies on this crux. Unless you just meant their RV counterparts.

It can be discouraged/disallowed to tell who your rv identity is.

My brain hurts.

Yeah yeah, that's what I mean. The Mafia obviously have to know who they're teamed with, or you get something like in Dr Henry's variant where none of them trusted each other or something along those lines. I did mean their RV counterparts.
This. I'm not trying to tell you how to make your decisions, I'm just saying that this variant sounds like a really interesting solution to a psuedo-problem that's arisen, and I have pretty strong opinions on what would make it the most fun for me as a player.

How long is the average time between Mafia games?

It varies.

But seeing as RV isn't going to survive another couple of weeks if we don't do something about the hosting situation, we should probably at least hold off on starting another one until that gets resolved.

Oh RV has a hosting problem? Here I thought the point of that Global was that it was supposed to be like a RV fishing competition to see how big a RV fish you could catch. Caught some big and rare ones too. That was the point of it, right... to get people to come out of the woodwork and post and then leave again

No please. Yes there are definitely free options and we plan to pursue them, but if the site goes down, it's highly likely we may lose a couple (or more) days of posts. During a Mafia game is a critical time to NOT have that happen. We should just wait.
