Random. That's what this is. Random. I hope this turns out well, eh?
Hokay, let's get right into this, shall we? I'm going to base this RP off of a 'universe' that has been the main point of several writing projects that I've had so far. This may end up, truthully, being an amalgam of those projects in terms of geography, characters, events, setting, etc. etc. Hopefully it won't go downhill because of this. Whatever. Reason I'm creating a new RP after being away for a while, you ask? Simple. I've gotten, quite simply, bored with most of my current writing projects. That or I'm just not motivated. . .anyways moving on. Let's lay down some basic guidelines and rules before we get into this, yeah?
Rules:
-> First and most importantly, no GOD-MODDING. For serious. You come close to god-modding, you'll get your silly fool of a character warned, and then banned if you continue. Try to keep your character in moderation when thinking of this, so as to avoid any form of god-modding in the future right off the bat. This would also including acting out actions of someone else's character without them having said they were performing that action. So you can't say that another character did something after you complete an action yourself.
-> No power-playing. So, things like coming in and in one post attacking someone or something without giving a chance of retataliation. Power-playing also includes coming in and owning everything in one post. So, don't do it. Evar. You do, and you'll get a warning and a chance to edit your actions. If you don't, then that's going to be a one-way ticket to Bannedpersonville. Huzzah.
-> Be respectful of other players. This may be an even more important rule than the 'No God-Modding' rule. Even if nobody god-mods, then the fun might be drained from this RP for someone that's being harassed or flamed, and whatever else you might be able to think of. Make sure to be tolerant of those that might be new, or something similar, okay? If someone has messed up, give them a chance before going on a rant. This does mean everyone, alright? Hokay.
-> Use proper SPAG. For those that might not know what this is, SPAG = Spelling And Grammar. Of course, this doesn't include punctuation, but that's just as equally important. If nobody can understand what you're trying to say. . .well, good luck with going far in the RP world. If you can't write whatsoever, than I suggest that you don't join this RP. Or any RP, really, until you've gained a small understanding of the concept of writing. But that's just me, do whatever makes you happy.
-> Do NOT double-post. Quite simply this is posting once, then posting again without anyone else posting before you, and not editing your original post. A warning the first time, again, and the second time will be a ban. Simple as that. Well. . .before the ban, I might sic the double-post hater Azn on joo. . .but whatever.
-> In order to participate, you absolutely MUST fill out the bio sheet below. You don't need to write a super elongated biography and description about your character, but enough to where everyone playing gets the general feel for your character and the way he/she acts, etc. In case you're having a writers' block for characters, or you simply CANNOT be bothered to come up with a character (chyeah right. . .<_<), I can give you a list of canon characters for you to choose from. There are several, I assure you, since this is an amalgam of a few past projects, but only ask to use a canon character if you're a lazy little fuzzy bunny. If you're okay with being called a lazy fuzzy bunny, go for it. Then again. . .some of the canon characters are pretty cool, so you might want to ask about it anyways.
-> In terms of storyline. . .I don't necessarily have anything planned, but I'll make sure to keep things going. Hopefully. I have enough knowledge of the different 'universes' to know how to meld each of them together well I believe. No need to worry about that sort of thing.
And NOW, the moment we've all been waiting for, I'm sure, the bio sheet!
Character Form:
Quote:
Name: (Come up with an interesting name that isn't hard to type. Please.)
Gender: (Quite simple. If you don't get it. . .you don't belong here. Or anywhere for that matter.)
Age: (Look up one line, eh?)
Race: (Look below for a list of races to choose from.)
Appearance: (Describe what your character looks like, as well as weapons or abilities if they apply.)
Personality: (Tell us what you character is like in terms of personality. How does he/she react to different things, etc.?)
Bio: (Give a short history of your character, make sure to give highlights while not going into a long, drawn out explanation.)
Quote:
The races require an explanation all in their own. There are several races to choose from. And I do mean several. Here you go:
Humans
Humans are the dominant species amongst the Eternium. Humans are generally very well-rounded when it comes to strengths and weaknesses, and are very adaptable to their surroundings.
Leyra
The Leyra are the second most common species of the Eternium, generally placing themselves in warmer regions. A few have been seen around the northern regions, but these Leyra are generally outcasts or those that can relate. Leyra are slightly taller on average than humans, and have sharper features, almost feline-like. They also keep to themselves mostly.
Zekhit
Zekhit are also very human like, and are about as common as the Leyra. The Zekhit are more commonly seen in the northern regions, however, much unlike the Leyra. And as the Leyra are slightly feline-like, the Zekhit are slightly canine-like, having generally brusqe attitudes and sturdy physiques.
Gnara
Gnara are generally rather short, with child-like features and usually light personalities. They have an affinity for all magic, and generally make their home anywhere, living wherever they please.
Kir'Anzar
The largest of the common races, Kir'Anzar measure up to, on average, ten feet. They fail terribly when trying their hand at magic, but give a Kir'Anzar a mace or greatsword, and they are a force to be reckoned with. This race's skin tones are darker in shades, even hinting with blue or green sometimes, and are generally found in wastelands or caverns. They rarely come to the surface, but have been known to do so.
Full-Breed Leyra
Leyra that have adopted even more traits of their felin counterparts are called Full-Breed Leyra. These Leyra have been known to have physical parts of their body altered, meaning that they may have ears of a cat, or a tail perhaps. These are even more seclusive than their normal Leyra kin.
Full-Breed Zekhit
The Full-Breed are like that of the Full-Breed Leyra, in that they are more canine like than the normal Zekhit. Again, the Full-Breed Zekhit may take on physical attributes of the canine species, such as ears, tails, etc. The Full-Breed Zekhit also tend to have amplified emotions, meaning that when they feel the same amount of anger as a human, it shows much more than it would normally.
So there you have it. A good list of races to choose from, I'd say, without being cliche and unoriginal. Hokay, I'll be creating mah character, and then we can get started. If anyone has any questions, PM me about it, alrighty? Good.
______________
Name: Marchen Istime
Gender: Male
Age: Seventeen
Race: Human
Appearance: Marchen stands at about five feet, ten inches. His hair is pure white, and very straight. It's naturally arranged into neat spikes, hanging down to his eyebrows and past his ears. His eyes are an icy blue, cutting through all those that he looks at in the eye. His skin is lightly tanned, naturally given to him through birth rather than being out in the sun. He wore a very light grey, almost white, sleeveless knit shirt. It has a zipper in the front, the zipper pull fashioned from an intricately done piece of pewter. The shirt has a small collar that is raised, and the zipper is pulled open slightly at the young man's collarbone. His pants are colored black, dark grey designs stitched into the material about halfway down. The pants are wide at the knee, and bind with leather string halfway down his calf. The young man wears white bandages from where the pants end down to the end of his foot. As for footwear, the young man wears a simple pair of sandals that are strapped tightly to his feet to prevent slipping. His physique is slim, but his muscular attributes are definitive even through his shirt. At his waist is a belt that holds a small dagger, sharpened to a fine edge. The leather sheath is colored white, swirling red designs carved into the material. The grip of the dagger is also a crimson red. A medium-sized satchel is also attached to the belt, meant for holding various objects.
Personality: Marchen can be very indifferent, or at least seems like it at times. He has grown fairly callous to various things, such as things that would spark emotions like depression or anger, and even happiness. This all doesn't prevent him from being a little rough, of course. Those around him that have known him for a long time are used to it by now.
Bio: Very proud of his parents, Marchen was only about ten years old. His parents were Wave Researchers, scientists that experiment with and observe Eternium Waves. Eternium Waves were and are still a very dangerous element, capable of literally dragging a person's very soul out of their body. His parents had been asked to explore a canyon near Marchen's hometown, which had been experiencing some moderately high levels of Eternium Wave interference. No more than half an hour into the expedition, Marchen's parents were gone. A rescue team was sent out later to find them, but the team found nothing. Marchen had believed with every fiber of his being that his parents were the best Wave Researchers in all the universe, and fiercely disbelieved what he was told soon after the incident. For about a year, Marchen held onto the idea that his parents were still alive, but this began to ebb quickly. At the age of twelve, Marchen had become cynical and indifferent, and even took up in internship with some local Wave Researchers. He had decided to devote his time to being a Researcher. An even better Researcher than his parents ever could be. And nobody was about to stop him.
_______________
"Dammit. . ."
A lone figure in the empty vortex of the Eternium kneels among the towering indigo cliffs and ledges of the forbidden canyon. Out here a being could be lost within the waves of the Eternium. If you get caught in one of the drifting waves of pure energy, then your very soul is torn from your body, leaving you a motionless and thoughtless husk of a person. Worse yet, your body decays much more slowly and so it stays where it is left amongst the richly hued earthen walls. Simply rotting for decades is what the body does. The figure had just ducked under a passing Eternium wave, the energy coming so close that a bit clung to his clothing, skin, and hair. His body had gone numb for a few moments, before the energy passed.
"I'm better than this, pull it together. Don't drop your guard now, Marchen." Marchen stood up and sighed, running his fingers through his hair to rid it of various particles from the wave that had just passed. He pressed his left index finger into the earbud that was put inside his ear, a thin piece of material with a miniscule microphone on the end reaching to his mouth.
"Hey Communicator, you there?" Marchen asked lazily, with a hint of exhapseration, "I know you're new. . .speak to me. What's your name again?"
