Steely did lie, a pretty stupid lie too, but he doesn't scream mafia to me.

I'm very tempted to unvote you just because of Henry's bandwagon, but calling me and Steely out as mafia makes me positive that you are the mafia. Kthx.

Saying that you almost want the mafia to win is pretty contradictory of yourself if you think I'm mafia. From the tone of your internet-voice, it sounds like you really don't want me to win. Of course I'm probably just thinking too much into that part.

For once, the day ended differently than the previous. Mnok Basher was brought forth. The penguin look at him, at with a sad look in his eye, brought the noose down from the ceiling. Monk Basher was put in it, and hung. He went limp, and nothing came from his pockets. He was, like most others, just a Researcher.

Immediately, Dr Henry and Topsummoner spun around and looked at Mentos, Steely Mallon, and Hojunhu, who were all grinning manically.
From out of their pockets they took and guns, and readied to execute the two. Hojunhu, who appeared to be the leadered, asked them if they had any last words before they took their lives and seized control of the penguins forever.

Topsummoner just put his hand in his coat and uttered one phrase.

"BANKAI!!!!"

With that he rushed at Mentos, in a last ditch effort to save the penguins. He was able to stab Mentos, in the crotch, but he was immediately shot by Hojunhu and Steely Mallon. After Topsummoner was dead, they looked, to Dr. Henry who was now cowering before them. Showing no mercy, they quickly ended his life. Now, nothing was in the way of their quest for evil.

The observatory was turned into a place of pure evil, ruled by the mafia, exploiting the penguins for all they had. Eventually, after learning all the secrets they could from the penguins, they began another quest. A quest for world domination. With the power of the penguins, they were able to take over the world.

The world plunged into darkness, and the penguins were all exploited for evil. The worst case scenario, had come true.

The Mafia have Won.

"Researcher": 

Researcher-
One year ago I came to the Observatory. I came to research, and I intend to continue researching. This Mafia shall not break this facility or myself. All I have is my vote, and it is an important power.

"Godfather": 

Godfather-
Two years ago the Observatory began. For one year it's been operating. And for all that time, its all for the "Greater Good." We spend our time and resources to learn from the penguins, and then what? NOTHING. WE GET NOTHING! Thats not how it should be. We should be profiting from this. But most everyone won't agree to profiting from this. Only DragonCrusher1, rockrocks, Steely Mallon, Mentos, and Tahu 1000 agree with me. We've tried to change the mentality peacefully, but violence seems to be the only answer. I will send someone every night to kill, until there is no one standing in our way, until the Mafia reign supreme!.

"Prop artist": 

Prop artist-
All my life I've loved drama. I never enjoyed the playing parts, or really being in the plays at all, but I loved making the props.It's my pashion. But the Observatory doesn't think so. They just want research. We aren't even rewarded for our actions here! They say our work is for the "Greater Good." I've had enough, and I teamed up with Hojunhu, rockrocks, Steely Mallon, Mentos, and Tahu 1000. I can create a prop during the night if I'm not already setting one up. And once a prop is made, I can use it to make someones cabin look like anything I want it to. Though, there is a %25 chance that it will be misunderstood, and be noticed that the cabin has been framed. I want there to be nobody but the Mafia left in this Observatory.

"Silencer": 

Silencer-
For the whole year I've been working here, all I've done is tranquilize penguins. Day in and day out, administering shots to the birds. I've had enough. We aren't even rewarded for our actions here! They say our work is for the "Greater Good." I've teamed up with Hojunhu, DragonCrusher1, Steely Mallon, Mentos, and Tahu 1000 to eliminate everyone who still wants to research for the greater good. TO help aid them in their cause, I've stolen the tranquilizers, and am able to use them to "put someone to sleep," during the day, so they can't talk. I want there to be nobody but the mafia left in this Observatory.

"Second-in Comand: 

Second-in command-
Since this Observatory came to be, I've bonded with Hojunhu. When we realized that the Observatory is exploiting us, I came and aided him to create a team to overthrow the Observatory. He swore to me that if he was defeated, that I would be the next Godfather. In this team is Hojunhu, DragonCrusher1, rockrocks, Mentos, and Tahu 1000, and we wish to eliminate all those who don't agree with us, the mafia.

"Mafia Goon": 

Mafia Goon- The Observatory just wants research. They Don't even reward us for our actions! They say our work is for the "Greater Good." I've had enough, and I teamed up with Hojunhu, DragonCrusher1, rockrocks, Steely Mallon, Tahu 1000, and Mentos. I want there to be nobody but the Mafia left in this Observatory.

"Twin": 

Twin-
Ever since birth, Sweep/Tweedy and I have been linked. Not physically, but mentally. We've gone everywhere together, had the same classes all throughout school, went to the same college and now work together. You talk about everything, and know that you're both good beings and want the best for penguins. I want the Mafia to be eliminated.

"Security Guard": 

Security Guard-
I came to the Observatory with a different goal in mind than the others. The others wanted to help the penguins, but I am here to help them from themselves. Every night I stand beside someones cabin and watch them, and make sure no harm comes to them. While I'm watching, there's no way they will die from that Mafia planning to take over the Observatory. I want the Mafia to be eliminated.

Basically you choose someone each night to protect from night kills. You win with the town.

"Vigilante": 

Vigilante-
The phrase, "Two rights don't make a wrong," is not true. They do. When an other has wronged you, you have the right to vengeance. The same goes with the rebels in the Observatory, they have killed, and must be killed. Every night I can kill someone in the name of justice, so that the Mafia is eliminated.

"Detective": 

Detective-
Since I was a little child I would watch and investigate things. MY favorite shows on TV were CSI and the like. I would spy on everyone. Eventually, I came to Observatory, for an honest job. During the night I can search peoples cabin and learn about them. I hate the Mafia, and I want them to be eliminated.

Well, this certainly was fun to watch. It didnt go as expected though. Tweedy died early and Sweep never posted, ruining the usefulness of the twin combo, both Top and Hoj missed PMs, and rocks didnt even send in one But it was a good game alas, though inactivity ruined it, even though we had the prods.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend someone start another game, at least for a while.

Deadline lynching is a must for all future mafia games. Complete deadline lynching, not the half-one I mentioned before.

Question though, Day Five we had five mafia against four town and Day Six three mafia against three town... Why wasn't it just ended then?

Also I support deadline lynching, and the working out of a and the working out of a better prod system if at all possible.

Ideally, deadline lynching would act as a sort of prod system. It would (again, ideally) provide more information for days to go on and also provide incentive for people to be more active. In the end, the only people who are inactive would be those who genuinely can't reach the computer. If we were to use a prod system on top of this, the one we have now would be a bit too over the top. If deadline lynching is used, any prod system on top of it should not remove people for inactivity; rather, just let the game take care of it.

I would be curious to see how something like PMing all players at the start and end of each day would work out though...

Also, I think people are more keen to variant-style mafias. Not outright variants, but ones like Insanity or Lone Ranger, that are like the original mafia but with enough new or unique roles to keep the game fresh. As much as I like simple games based around reading people or bluffing your way around, people don't seem to be quite as interested anymore.

On that note, I'm going to post an interest check on original rules mafia to see what people would think of one like that.

Bleh. My role was a complete dumb.

A two-night-framer-with-a-chance-to-fail doesn't seem horribly balanced in the slightest; I could have seen a two night framer being used, or a one night framer being used with a chance to fail, but giving me the worst of two worlds was kinda low...

Oh well, we should have won this game a lot sooner (why didn't we?), but good game to the town and mafia.

This game was plagued by inactivity, and, unless deadline lynching somehow works in the next game, I think mafia is on its way out of RuneVillage for some time.

Honestly, the most frustrating thing is that we shouldn't need deadline lynching. If you sign up and you're a villager, then you should *want* to be active. But game after game all we see are a bucketload of inactive and idling villagers...if you don't want to be active then don't play. But once you decide to play, it'd be nice if you actually put a modicum of effort in.

I'll agree with deadline lynching as prods obviously didn't have the impact I was hoping they would.
