The Battlefield: Team Trials

Moving freely across the lands, he felt as if he had accumulated enough power for his plans, and decided to put them to the test. Making the accurate gestures, masses of power flew into him, so much that he began to radiate it. Making one final gesture, a portal appeared, a wholly new dimension within it.

Now the first part of his motive was complete, it was time to ensure the second part. drawing every last bit of power still stored within his temple, warriors from every inch of reality were drawn into the new dimension, and received the knowledge they needed to know instantly.

Warriors, you have been chosen to participate in this contest. Use the knowledge I granted you to your benefit. Welcome, warriors. Welcome to the Team Trials. The winners shall be granted power beyond even their wildest dreams, and serve as my avatar on this world. Now, form your alliances.

OOC: Yeah, I've been planning this one for quite a while. Also, this battlefield has some unique rules to keep in mind, along with the standard. Now for the total list of rules (which is also the "knowledge" the characters were granted):

- Any character going by the name of "Klinkin" will be beaten, stabbed, slashed, burned, frozen, shot and many other unpleasant things, after which the body is thrown into an active volcano. So Klinkin's a no-no.
- NO half-gods or the like
-No godmodding
-No autohitting
-No controlling another persons character without their or my permission
-No one-sentence posts
-Any other standard rules I may have missed, use your common sense.

Special Rules:

- You are allowed to use up to two characters, though for new players, playing one character is recommended.
- Teams consist of two (2) people
- You may not team your own characters
- When forming a team, keep their alignments and pasts in mind. For example, don't team Link with Ganondorf, or Aerith with Sephiroth.
- If the number of characters is uneven, I'll enter one character. If it's even, I'll enter two.
- No new characters after the third page.
- That's about it, if there are any new rules, they'll be announced in the title, and a separate post.

I'll use Jak from Jak 3, I like using him for everything, as you might have noticed. You know his pic, and his stuff. Jak has light and Dark Jak, and all his guns. He may not be agreeable with at times, but he always comes through in the end.

Jak was walking through the desert with Daxter on his shoulder, when a port appeared and they were sucked into it. They fell into a slumber. When they awoke they were in a different place, a place neither of them knew.

Alriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

Name: Dante (I'll be using his design from DMC3)
Origin: Devil May Cry

Appearence:

Weapons: Devil Arms: The Devil Arms are Dante's melee weapons, usually obtained from a certain demon. They are as follows.

Rebellion:Dante's main and most versitile weapon, Rebellion is a sword with a black skull at the top. It has average speed, power, and range.

Cerberus: A three-piece nunchaku from the demon Cerberus. These and infused with the element of ice. They have incredible speed, but lack range and power.

Agni&Rudra: Two scimitars from the demons Agni and Rudra. Agni is infused with the power of fire, while Rudra is infused with wind. They have decent speed and range, but lack power.

Nevan: A guitar that can transform into a sickle and has control over many bats, from the demon Nevan. By playing this guitar, Dante can summon bats and sound waves to attack his foes with, or turn it into a sickle for a slow strike.

Beowulf: A set of gauntulets and greaves from the demon Beowulf. These give Dante incredible hand-to-hand combat power, and have decent range, but lack speed.

Firearms: The firearms are Dante's guns. For some reason, they never seem to require reloading while in his possession.

Ebony&Ivory: These twin handguns are Dante's primary and fastest guns. They have incredible speed, and by firing in the air, Dante can slightly hover. However, they lack power.

Shotgun: A shotgun. Slow firing. Powerful at close range. What more is there to say?

Artemis: This gun slowfires energy balls, and if charged, can fire at multiple targets. It is slow firing and average in damage.

Spiral: A large gun that fires piercing bullets that richochet. It fires rather slow but is very powerful.

Kaileena Ann: This massive rocket launcher fires mini-missles at a short range, which do massive damage if they hit. This gun has a few other purposes too.

Abilities: Dante has six styles, each giving him different techniques. They are as follows.

Swordmaster
Gunslinger
Trickster
Royal Guard
Quicksilver
Doppelganger

I will explain these further when I use them

Dante also has a Devil Trigger mode, where he turns into a demon for a short period of time, where he has increased speed, power, and a small health regeneration.

IC: "VERGIL!" shouted Dante, running at his twin brother and slashing. The moment their swords met, Vergil dissapeared. No... the whole place dissapeared. Dante glanced around, finding the area around him completely unfamilier, and his energy from the fight with Vergil was restored. "Vergil, this one of your demon world tricks?" he shouted. He spotted a man with long ears in the distance. "... Guess not." Dante started walking toward the man, Rebellion slung over his shoulder.

Jak and Daxter saw a man with swords and guns approching from a distance in this strange place.

Dxter said in Jak's ear, "Hey, who's that guy?" "I don't know Dax, but I'm gonna find out." said Jak. Jak called, "Hey, you, with the guns and swords, where do you think we are? If you don't want to shout, hurry up and get over here."

Dante went into Trickster Style and snapped his fingers, appearing behind Jak with Ebony&Ivory drawn and pointed. "Alright Big Ears and Mr. Furry. I don't like you and you don't like me, but, according to this booming voice in my ears, we're supposed to ally. So, get with the program and draw a weapon. We're obviously not the only ones here... wherever here is."

Dante tossed Ebony into the air, catching it in his holster. Twirling Ivory in the other hand, he said "Not a clue. Best thing to do would be to walk around until someone shows up, Big Ears." Dante, still twirling his gun, started walking.

OOC: You're on a seemingly endless field of wheat, with a square mile of grass in the center, where everyone starts out. Does Daxter have any special powers by the way? If he does, I'll have to count him as a separate character, and he has to ally someone else.

Tahu Nuva was definitely confused. The rock and metal of Mata Nui had been replaced by strange plants, and there were two...creatures that looked definitely hostile. Furthermore, they had spotted him.

Dante glanced off to his side, seeing some tall thing, with a bright red mask. "Alright Big Ears, Mr. Furry... I guess this is the first guy we're supposed to fight?" Dante said, dropping Ivory into his holster and drawing Rebellion, he started to walk towards Tall Thing, his sword slung on his should casually.

These people had underestimated him. Tahu didn't like being underestimated. With a wave of his sword, a wave of lava burst forth from the field, stretching over ten bios high and heading toward the pair.

OOC: Alright, figured I'd give some info on my abilities as the need comes.

Rebellion: Special Abilities
- Air Hike (double jump)
- Stinger Lvl 2 (A forward stab with the sword, incredible range)

Trickster Style
-Triple Dash (up to three quick dashes in succession)
-Sky Star (A forward dash of sorts in mid-air)
-Air Trick (Dante teleports behind a foe, if he is not too far away)

IC: Dante ran, jumped and Air Hiked, launching himself above the lava (which is still going Jak's way btw). Sky Starring over it, he swung Rebellion in a downslash at Tahu.

He gazed upon what he created, and smiled. Soon, he would have his new avatar, and the people of his realm would all convert to him, granting him power beyond even his wildest dreams. He looked again, and found out the numbers were uneven, and there was a team incomplete.

SECUND CHAR

Name: Zant
Origin: Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Appearence:

Abilities: Zant seems to be able to teleport himself and foes to various locations, and even act like the enemy previously fought at that location, thus giving him a large variety of moves to use. Regardless of where he teleports a foe, it usually involves him firing pinkish balls of dark energy. When in sword combat however, Zant surrounds the enemy with barriers of Twilight, preventing their escape, and uses quick and confusing attacks to defeat an opponent. He teleports frequently in battle.
Personality: Most of the time, Zant seems to be very serious and calm, and has a distinctive aura of power surrounding him. However, in battle, this seriousness is dropped, and Zant becomes much more nimble, nearly the complete oppisite of before.

IC: Just then, a figure appeared above Tahu, a sword sticking out of his sleeve, which Rebellion hit, sending Dante flying back several feet. The figure landed on it ground, retracting the sword. He looked at Tahu. "I am your ally."

Dante landed on his feet, and grinned. This was looking to be one heck of a party. He Triple Dashed to Tahu and slashed with Rebellion.

With but a thought, Tahu surrounded both him and the newcomer with a powerful shield, warding off the sword.
"Then don't worry about hits. I'll keep you safe if you can keep them occupied."
OOC: Tahu Nuva, while a more straightforward fighter among the Toa Nuva, is still relatively poor at melee combat. His strengths are in control of fire and the ability to shield both him and his allies.

Jak watched these attacks, and also saw his ally get knocked away. Jak smiled, and pulled out his anit-gravity peace maker. He ran to the beings throught the wheat, and when he got near, he fired the gun.

OOC: In the game of Jak 3, if you didn't already know, anything hit by this blast is rendered immobile and starts floating and doing flips. Note: Friends are not affected by this.
