OOC: Meh, my post never came on before the village crashed. I said I had talked about my blade because I was worried Vevis would try to silence Soren and Kid, those around when he confessed his problems. It also screwed up me parting from Valish and sitting next to Zamd for a quick chat... I hate when the village crashes.

BIC...

Kid looked down at Zamd. "I guess he felt slightly more concerned for Vevis' problems than your find, but I don't doubt he heard you. It might be easier to go through this one at a time, after all."
Kid stood where he was. He would either wait for Zamd or Valish to head to Soren and follow, or wait for Soren to return. He didn't feel like rushing anyone or being rushed at the moment.

Alastor set out towards the eastern end of town, it didn't take long since he knew several short cuts in the city. The family for lived on the hill just outside of town in quite an extravagant house. It seemed they're wealth had grown since he had last been here.

"Old man's investments got rich I guess." He said.

He had asked around town about what they knew about the family, and it appeared that they didn't go outside their house too much because they didn't want any of their children running away, it was completely walled off, it only opened once in a while at the front gate to let supplies in. Supplies were delivered once a week, and they happened to be delivered today. They were delivered in three "bundles" at any given time, since supplies had to last a whole week. He had asked the local townspeople, and they said that the supplies were delivered by hand, so hiding under any sort of caravan was out of the question. Alastor crept around to the front of the house. It was rather easy to hide since the family had failed to take care of the extensive amount of overgrown shrubbery outside their house. The gate was ordinary enough, it was about 10 feet high, wooden, and looked much like just a hinged door with sort of lock from the other side. Alastor thought for a minute. Alastor watched as the first batch of supplies was delivered. The gate opened and let the man in. The gate then closed exactly 20 seconds after, it appeared it was either operated by magic or by some sort of mechanism. About 5 minutes later,Alastor looked up as the gate was opened again to let the man out. Again, it closed after 20 seconds.

"Each gate has to open twice per bundle delivered, so that means I have four chances, however, walking in at the same time as the man would raise suspicion... I have to go in after when they go back to their normal duties and suspect nothing, but to keep the gate open or make it openable?"

Alastor looked at the lock a bit, and came up with a haphazard sort of plan. If it was a sort of locking mechanism on the other side, that means like any other door it had to connect to the frame with a mechanism of the same sorts. Jam something in that slot, and the door didn't close properly. Of course, this was all on the assumption that the door wasn't being watched.

The second bundle came and the door opened. This time Alastor examined the size of the mechanism as the door opened. It seemed there was a knob on the other side, and the only thing to lock it was a turn lock on the knob. Alastor pulled out a throwing knife and examined it's size compared to slot, about the same probably, it would serve it's purpose. As the door opened, Alastor threw his throwing knife and missed the lock slot by about 3 inches.

"Damn it, only two more tries, and one throwing knife" He said.

Alastor watched as the third shipment of supplies came, as the door opened, Alastor hesitated and didn't throw the knife. He had one more chance.

Ten minutes later, the door opened again. Alastor threw the knife into the lock, it jammed itself into the door's locking mechanism. He checked that the supply man didn't notice, it didn't seem like he did. Alastor watched as the door closed..but not fully, a slight gap was left. After the door was closed for a good 5 minutes, Alastor crept up the the door slowly, he was right, a VERY small gap was left.

"Damn..I'm gonna have to get a new wakizashi after this..." He said reluctantly. He unsheathed his wakizashi and slid it into the gap, and wedged a little bit. The blade flexed slightly, but didn't bend. Alastor wedged a bit harder, fixing his foot on the wall the door was attached too and pulled back with his body weight. the door slid open just enough for him to creep to. He sheathed his wakizashi and crept in. Luckily, they hadn't taken care of their front yard either... lots of shrubbery here as well.

Well, this wouldn't do. Yazeel unlocked and snuck back through the back window and walked outside to a plaza, where he saw a man painting. Sneaking up behind the artist, he poked him on the shoulder.

"What do you want?" the painting man asked irritably, trying to concentrate.

"Well, not to bother your work, sir," said Yazeel in a serious tone," but I believe your house is on fire."

"Wha-!" exclaimed the painter, too worried and excited to question whether or not our clever thief was lieing. He ran off, leaving his paints and easel. Let's see... Here we go. This shade would do fine. Yazeel splattered some of the paint on the man's pallet, and took it along with a brush. Back at the armory, he found a platemail in the storage room (which had an easily picked lock) similar in structure to the piece he had set his sights on. Lugging it over to the glass case with the gold trimmed armor, he pulled out his trusty lockpick and got to work opening the display case. Several seconds later, the small glass door swung open, revealing his prize. However, it was not his yet.

Yazeel removed the decorated piece of armor from the rack and replaced it with the plain one, placing the original on the floor next to the pallet and brush. Picking up the two latter objects, he got to work.

- - -

There we go. The sun had by now completely descended below the horizon, and his work was finished. The armor now looked... somewhat like the gold trimmed counterpart... from a distance. That is, if you were trying to spot a difference. At least it would take them a bit longer to find out that their prized breastplate was missing. Now, how to get this hunk of metal back unspotted...

- - -

Yazeel stepped through the front door of the Thieve's Guild, stolen object hidden carefully under his shirt. Man, this thing was uncomfortable to the bare skin. Not to mention the weight. The thief huffed and puffed up the many sets of stairs until he reached the seventh floor, standing behind Zamd and Kid. Looked like he'd have to wait his turn.

Alastor had waited quite a long while before coming out from his hiding behind the shrubbery. The sun had already set, he was quite late on his thieving.

"Damn it." he said.

It seemed everybody had gone to sleep by now, so Alastor decided to make his move. Alastor climbed to the closest window to him, the house only being one story but large in expanse. Alastor looked at the window, it seemed to be firmly shut.

"I always remembered this window's lock never worked."

He said as he slipped his katana into between the window and it's frame. He wedged with all his strength since the blade was already bent, no use in trying to take care of it anymore. The window slipped open silently, and Alastor walked into what appeared to be a sort of office or study. Bookcases lined the shelves, and a desk was in the center of the room with a lone chair.

"He always kept his important papers in a book, and he usually kept his favorites over there." Alastor murmured looking at a book case in the corner of the room. Alastor walked over and examined all the books, he didn't have time to check them all.

Alastor looked for any books that might have caught the person's eye. One particular book seemed to pop out at Alastor. He carefully removed it from the shelf. It was quite plain, having no illustrations on any part of it, with a simple title in gold lettering on the cover.

"Family ties?" Alastor said inquisitively... then carefully opened the book.

There in the front cover laid what he had sought. A folded piece of parchment. It didn't look too new as it was slightly yellowed, but not too old either. Alastor grabbed the papers, slipped them into his pocket and replaced the book. He crawled out the window and closed it, then made his way towards the gate. He crawled along the shrubbery, even though he didn't care too much for stealth because nobody seemed to be keeping watch. The gate was still slightly open, so Alastor pushed it a bit to slip through, but not before pulling out his throwing knife from it's mechanism.

"Great, two blades bent." He whispered as the door closed. Alastor then made a slight smile, and made a slow walk towards the Theives guild.

"Sorry we couldn't have a reunion...former family."

Kid, now slightly bored with the waiting, turned to Zamd and Valish. "Would one of you alert me when Soren returns? If I'm to wait, I'd rather breath fresh air." Kid turned and walked to his room, opened the window, and leaned out. He savored the fresh air...
Scanning the streets for familiar faces (like the old bread stall owner), Kid's eyes found Alastor, making a fairly slow walk toward the Thieve's Guild. Kid leaned out a little more to make himself known to Alastor, then noticed that the man's blades were bent oddly. "You know, my cousin can repair those easily for you."

"I will alert you when it is your turn." Valish said, as he went into the lounge, and sat on a char relatively close to Vevis, with only one other chair between them. "Listen, Vevis." he started. "Your desire to kill, since when do you... have it?" He asked. "Before I came to this city, I was an assassin, making a living out of the cursed art of murder.

At the time, that was the only job I was capable of doing without drawing stares. Although I did kill, I never enjoyed it." He looked the boy in his eyes. "If you want, I could help you to suppress certain emotions, so you will be able to hold yourself back when the desire appears again."
