For the complete listing of all 1400 runs, see the first post in this thread - Rarius

Okay, my newest series of 400 runs is complete, as of Nov 9. These 400 runs were done at the request of dr henry after Jimmybe set a goal to go Barrowing and donate those items to the RVBB2. dr henry asked if I would do the same. How could I turn down such a request knowing it was for a good cause? The Village People (and not the singing group) have given me a ton of support since I joined and I thought this would be something I could do to give a little back to the community that has inspired me so much. dr henry’s request was pretty straightforward, get some Barrow Armor and Weapons for the BB2 drop party. I looked at how much time I had and decided I could get in about 400 runs in the 77 days from when he asked till the official party date. I also knew that if I did my runs right, in addition to getting drops, I could/should collect enough Chaos Runes to convert into Furies for the party. Ultimately I did not get enough, but I still had enough left from my last bunch of runs to make it work anyway.
So, with that said, here is the raw data.
Runs 1001-1100. On this series of runs I went in with the intent of having a kill count of 10 on every run. This was because I needed more runs at 10 KC to continue to develop my Database.
Runs 1001-1100
Total Kills 1000 – 10 kills per run
26,390 Minds
6,992 Deaths
9,620 Chaos
3,649 Bloods
102,498 Gold
1008 Bolt Racks
Half Keys on Runs – 0
7 Brother drops on runs Run 1014, 1017, 1061, 1070, 1072, 1088, 1089
Dragon Medium – 0

Runs 1101-1200. Again I went with a 10 KC number to get mid range items as well as build the database.
Runs 1101-1200
Total Kills 1000 – 10 kills per run
33,569 Minds
8,059 Deaths
11,701 Chaos
3,415 Bloods
102,300 Gold
539 Bolt Racks
Half Keys on Runs – 0
7 Brother drops on runs Run 1104, 1115, 1137, 1162, 1167, 1180, 1187,
Dragon Medium – 0

Runs 1201-1300. I could see I was way behind on my Chaos drops which I needed to get the Onyx gem to make into Furies so I droped my KC low because I know that Chaos drops better in the 6-8 KC range. I went with a KC of 7 for this next series.
Runs 1201-1300
Total Kills 700 – 7 kills per run
36,787 Minds
5,299 Deaths
16,012 Chaos
0 Bloods
140,442 Gold
0 Bolt Racks
Half Keys on Runs – 0
9 Brother drops on runs Run 1248, 1248, 1253, 1257, 1268, 1269, 1280, 1281, 1295
Dragon Medium – 0

Runs 1301-1400. Again staying with the low KC, I went with 8 as I also wanted to see what was happening with Blood Runes and Bolt Racks. It became apparent with hundreds of runs now at 6 and 7 KC that Blood Runes and Bolt Racks do not drop for those KC’s. I wanted to see what a hundred runs of 8 KC would produce, as well as continue to generate Chaos Runes.
Runs 1301-1400
Total Kills 800 – 8 kills per run
32,901 Minds
8,764 Deaths
13,037 Chaos
890 Bloods
128,282 Gold
0 Bolt Racks
Half Keys on Runs – 0
6 Brother drops on runs Run 1306, 1314, 1331, 1338, 1352, 1360,
Dragon Medium – 0

A 400 run series with 29 drops. That’s one every 13.7 runs, not as high as usual but also with several interesting observations.
I had a streak of 73 runs without a drop, and a streak of 6 drops in 11 runs. That should tell you how random Barrow Brother drops are. You can just never tell what streak your going to be on.
Look at some other interesting items.
Take a look at the Half Key drops these last 400 runs. Zero.
That caught my eye because they used to fall fairly regularly. In my previous 1000 runs I had 31 Half Keys and 6 Dragon Medium Drops. Now in the last 400, Zero of each
Obviously these are Random drops, but keys used to fall on an average of 1 every 33 runs, now 400 runs and zip.
For now I will call it coincidence but as I continue to do more runs in the future, I will be watching this trend to see if it continues.
Lets talk each droppable item in the chest to see what we have learned after 1400 runs.
(This data is based on collections of at least 100 runs at a particular KC in consecutive runs to minimize outside influences)
- Mind Runes – You best chance at Minds are with KC at 6. Each increase of the KC by 1, reduces the amount of Minds you will gather from the chest. From an average of 426 Mind Runes at KC 6 to an average of 248 per run at KC 18. Looking at the chart, it is a steady decline the entire way.
- Death Runes – Your best KC’s for Death Runes is in the 8-10 range. You will average about 80 Death Runes per run with those KC numbers. KC of 6 will net you about 24 Death Runes per run, while KC’s of 14-16 hover about 60 Death Runes per run. So, if you are after Death’s stay around 9 KC.
- Chaos Runes – Like Mind Runes, lower numbers are better. KC of 6 or 7 will return about 160 Chaos Runes per run on average. KC’s of 8 or 9 about 130 Chaos and KC of 10 or more look to average about 120 Chaos per run. Stay at 6 or 7 if you are looking for Chaos Runes.
- Blood Runes – If you want Blood Runes, avoid KC of 6 or 7 at all costs. Hundreds of runs at these KC’s have yielded not 1 single Blood Rune drop. 8 KC is not much better. For your best results, KC of 10-14 should return you an average of 30+ Blood Runes per run. Somewhere between 14 and 18 the numbers start dropping again but I have not identified that point as of yet. If you are all about Bloods, go for a KC of 14
- Bolt Racks – Like Blood Runes, low KC will spell disaster if you are looking for Bolt Racks. KC of 6, 7 or 8 will return 0 (that’s Zero with a ‘Z’). As Kill Counts go up, Bolt Rack drops go up. I have not as yet established if there is a ceiling or what amount you can expect at higher numbers. What I do know is that at a KC of 10 you will average 5-10 Bolt Racks per run. At KC 14 you are up to 25 to 30 Racks per run. At 18 you are up to 35 Racks on average per run. Where does it peak? I do not know but as we move into 2007, that is one of the questions I will be trying to get an answer for.
- Gold – Like Minds and Chaos, Gold is inversely proportional to your KC. The lower your number, the more gold you get. From an average of $1,600.00 GP per run at 6 KC, down to $980.00 GP per run at 18 KC. However, this should never influence your decision for a KC. As I have always said, if you are going to the Barrows strictly for the GP drops, you need to have your head examined.
I have most of the data from these 1400 runs laid out in a spreadsheet that I am going to chart and post. It will tell you the High and Lows of each type of item you can get from the chest based on KC. The average drop per run, what your chance of getting a drop on a particular run at a particular KC is.
As a go forward, I plan to do some more Barrow runs in the future, but right now I want to catch up on some other things I haven’t done yet. I have never been to Castle Wars or Mage Arena. For that matter Shadow7 has encouraged me in the past to work on my agility which I have not had a chance to do and I want to. I also need to spend some more time with Zulu Squad as I have been neglecting it (them) for the past couple of months and I want to fix that. Additionally, I miss Slaying. I am about 400k from 89 Slayer and I want to get at least 90 before I turn my attention away and take a short break. Thanks to all of you that have encouraged me in the past and continue to encourage me as we go forward.
