For anyone with experience selling something, when does the payment show up? On ebay it says payment was initiated and is being processed on the paid or not tab. Im wondering if i should wait for it to clear before shipping. Also, my user email for paypal is different from my primary email. I think that doesn't matter. Can i just continue to enter my user email for future sales? Thanks

From what I remember, the payment was initiated, but didn't actually post to my account until the buyer got the product and said everything was shipped ok. In one instance the buyer never confirmed getting something from me and I had to wait a month before the payment cleared. I understand why ebay/paypal does it that way, but it's not perfect... hope that helps.

That helped a little. According to the buyer, it says it wasn't claimed yet. I'm sure it needs to be posted to the page i get into after logging in. Guess i will have to wait for that

The payment usually isn't sent until the buyer gets the product, like Defeat says. You also need to claim it, to make sure they properly sent the money to you. (If it was a first-time transaction and you haven't added a credit card/bank account to your password, they have a one-time waiting period of two weeks to verify you.)

Oh man Jan, you just got zinged by Riptide. How much does THAT suck?

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

Since this topic's up, it does bring up an interesting thought on the current budget for the Poorshark version of RV.

What does it cost per payment and how securely is it all funded?

Haha, kind of a thread hijack, but okay. :P

Poor Shark is completely funded by me and will continue to stay that way. I bought it as a place to host my webcomic, The Adventures of Jimmy, Crissaegrim, etc., so that's why I won't accept donations for it. But I also get unlimited web space and bandwith in the deal, so hosting RV here seemed like our best option since I'm going to own this web site forever anyway. :)

The only other thing I can think of is the runevillage.com domain. Jackstick owns that. I don't know how much it costs, but he assured me it's already on a recurring payment plan.

If you own a domain, who are you paying to keep it?

Thread hijacking happens all the time, i mean, it's happened twice now!

(Kik, i think it's Ead's old server, so it's pennies really.)

Runevillage the forum is pretty well much done. Runevillage the group will eventually die, but as long as we're still friends with each other in the end, it's still a pretty big thought in our heads. Runevillage the family is forever, no matter where we settle down. If absolutely nothing else ever comes of Runevillage in the future, that alone is a pretty damn awesome thought.

No, Ead's old server is running Crissaegrim, not web space hosting.
