Ello. I've read a couple pages from this thread and I agree with most of you. I haven't been very active in the past few years but I've made a point to drop by every now and then to see what was going on. I understand it is kind of wasteful to keep this forum up, but I would be sad to see RV disappear. It's been said time and time again that this community feels like a family, and I couldn't agree more. I think we should keep some form of communication up so that we can give updates on our lives from time to time.

Whatever happens, it's been fun.

Curious, did you go into a graphics related profession? I can't imagine where you're at right now talent-wise.

No, actually I never considered that field of work. I'm currently finishing a masters in molecular biology, onwards to Ph.d.

I did improve over the years, but I haven't been drawing nearly as much as I used to. I mostly abandoned the graphics tablet in favor of the good old sketchbook. Who knows, I might get around to post some stuff if I can get my hands on a scanner. And what about your career?

I'd certainly love to see some things. Your style of drawing with the graphics tablets still resonates with me today, I ended up buying one awhile ago and every so often I'll be drawing and think "Hey, this sort of looks like a bad version of a ZxC painting! Cool!". I'd love to see some sketchbook things too though.

I'm still in uni, going to graduate with a Bachelors of Computer Science soon though.

Maybe an RV chatroom can be set up on one of those group messaging apps so everyone can stay in contact, that's what I have been using for my most recent games.

Hihi! I haven't touched RS since...3rd year of high school? I don't really remember, but it's been a long time to say the least. I never had much of a social life, too much of a geek . So RV was my escape when times were tough. I learned how to design signatures here, it kickstarted my love for graphic design. Not everything, but a lot of who I am today was seeded in the sense of community that I belonged to on this site. I met a lot of cool people here, and it was a staple of my everyday life from the ages of 15-18. So thanks.

It's kind of funny because I was really bored and just felt like making a visit to see what was new. The 15th was my 10 year anniversary on this site. Wowza! I'm kind of sad that the site has really died, but it truly was an inevitability. We've all grown much older since the hay-day, and I don't think I'd find it much fun to play again. The nostalgia is strong, but the novelty has grown weak.

I'm just rambling. Sorry . I just stopped by and saw this post, I felt obligated to post SOMETHING. But if I never see you guys again;

It has been a slice! Do what you want to do with your lives, and I hope it all makes you happy. I wish you all the best, and from the bottom of my heart, I'll miss you.

Wow... this is a hell of a thing to come back to. I've largely moved on from this site, but I haven't forgotten the good times or what it's done for me as a person, and although I've been inactive for a long time, this place really does still feel like home. It's strange to think about the possibility of it being "over", even though most of the memories I've made are a decade old at this point.

I don't want to end up in a long-winded play by play, but this site and its people were my home when I really needed it. A lot of my growth as a person can be traced back to the community here. Thanks for keeping it running this long; I'm happy to offer any expertise/technical support that might help us keep a place for the community that's managed to persevere.

I think I've mentioned it in PMs or maybe in passing, but I do really want to thank hiker for making all of this possible in the first place. Literally half my life, at this point, has been spent under the influence of this site. That's covered tons of acquaintances, tons of in-game events, a few close friends (and a couple of those have even stuck), a couple attempts at relationships, innumerable interactions and arguments and exchanges of ideas. What I am today is directly attributable to all of that, and I'm genuinely thankful for it.

I'm still around on AIM with "vyhdycokio", with the same username on Facebook. I'm really interested in seeing how other people have grown, so please get in touch with me if you have any interest along the same lines.

Busy being a college party animal. If he's actually made good on his promises to do well and get a job to sustain himself without solely relying on financial aid, though, no clue. I've been waiting over a year for an answer to those.

I think that gets pushed aside by a lot of people after events a few years ago came to light. But I concur.

He got a girlfriend and is still in college. In the last six months, he hasn't made a post on RV or on Facebook, and I think he logged on Skype once for about 5 minutes total in all that time (purely because we were all posting joking messages on his Facebook page that he was dead.) It's a pretty drastic change even for Goten, but regardless of all that he appears to be doing well and having a good time in Flagstaff, so I have to assume it's for the best.
