Awesome. Been too long. The ground rules are as follows:

* The fighting system is similar to Tread the Path, and there are other battlefields buried in this forum you can reference. Basically, your attacks must be open-ended so that your opponent can dodge or counter. It's a give and take system, if they legitimately outmaneuver you or choose to use a special attack, take some damage. And they'll do the same for you. If you're new, pay attention to the veterans.

* Your character must be balanced in his or her abilities.

* There is never, never any manipulating of another person's character. (Unless you and that person have come to some kind of agreement. IE, Cloud wearing Majora's Mask in the last BF I played)

* The three day rule is in full effect. If you engage someone and they fail to respond in three days, you will be given permission to mortally harm them and/or kill them.

* All abilities must be written, unless a character in development (i.e. Manga) reveals a new ability from a credible source in the midst of the battlefield.
This means, as an example of a previous scenario, someone looting your body for armor won't succumb to self-defense effects it contains that you did not mention at the start of the topic.

* No hiding and camping out.

* No killing people without 5 pages of combative interaction with the killer posting at least once per page. "Combative interaction" means actual combat, if we have five pages of people debating semantics but only three total pages of actual action, no killing is allowed. I'll make an announcement when you can start going for kills.

* I reserve the right to modkill anyone who doesn't follow these rules, and you will also receive a warning if you are endlessly contesting what's going on for no reason. ("HEY! He can't dodge that!" when he clearly could, or more commonly, dodging something yourself that would be impossible to dodge.)

Traditionally, when you post your bio you enter the battlefield. As soon as two people post their characters, they can start fighting. If you wish to keep your character/'s abilities a secret or get permission for a special type of character (antic's zombie horde), you can PM me.

Please be as specific as humanly possible with your characters' abilities. I have next to no knowledge about anime, I have limited video game knowledge, so never assume that I know your abilities. If it isn't in the bio, you can't do it.

The terrain will be similar to several BFs ago, just a wide open desert about ten square miles. The outer boundaries are marked by a mountain range that CANNOT BE CROSSED. There are some crags, and the middle of the map is divided by a deep canyon with a fast moving freshwater river running through it (Think Grand Canyon). There are some shrubs, rocks, and cacti scattered around; nothing too big.

My "character" will be that of Bahamut, of the Final Fantasy fame. I will be flying around watching you guys, whoever breaks the rules will suffer the claw-slashing Mega-Flaring consequences. :weird:

***

The time warp employed to engage the final battle with Ultimecia has went terribly awry...Bahamut, the mightiest of GFs, has been trapped in another dimension altogether. The only way for him to escape is to bind himself to a champion, thus granting them the power to release themselves from the twisted dimension and return to whence they came.

Anomalies in the time compression magic tug some of the best warriors from their times and drop them in this dimension...they are fated to battle eachother to death until only one remains.

Character: Takeshi Ryuu Hayabusa
Image

Age: unknown
Heritage: Hayabusa Clan (Extinct)
Cultivation Path: Ninja Grandmaster
Background Story:

Takeshi Ryuu Hayabusa was born in a small village high in the mountains of northern Japan. At the age of 6 he was immediately induced into intense Shaolin Martial Arts by his master Masaru Shoichi Hayabusa. Takeshi learned much from Masaru of Shaolin Arts such as Shaolin Fist, Northern Mantis, Wudang Fu, One Finger Shooting Zen, and basic Weapons. At the age of 13 The Hayabusa village was invaded by an evil warlord Named Dakkatsu. Dakkatsu's Men destroyed the village and everyone in it. Masaru fled the village with Takeshi to the border of the mountain side to get Takeshi to safety. Masaru then gave Takeshi the Sword of the Hayabusa. The Dragon Blade with The Dragon Eye embeded into the hilt making it the True Dragon Blade. Masaru told Takeshi to run til he was out of the region of the Northern Mountains and search for Hisashi Hideo to continue his training. Masaru went back to the village to fight the Warlords men and died by the hands of many foes.
Takeshi went 2 years searching for Hisashi. He found him and learned the art of Southern Kung Fu and the art of Many Animals. Hisashi trained Takeshi in the ancient art of Stealth and the ways of the Shadow Ninja. With stealth Takeshi could channel his Chi to have his body take on active camouflage and appear virtually invisible to the naked eye. However He cannot use this skill to escape combat save for more then 10 seconds. Hisashi died of old age before teaching Takeshi how to become invisible During combat permanently. But his knowledge of non combat stealth enables him to sneak up on his enemies and open combat in stealth. but once he strikes he reveals himself. An ancient technique Takeshi was most fortunate to learn from Hisashi before his death was spiritual splitting. If Takeshi is within an inch from his own life, he can seperate his spirit from his body and infuse into his enemy if his enemy possesses a small shred of good in his heart. Upon doing so his enemy will absorb Takeshi's energy and be revitalized of any battle fatigue and his mind will be infused with Takeshi's skills(meaning he will be able to do all of Takeshi's skills(at half capacity)).THe reason Takeshi would do this is to replenish his Karma so he died in good faith preparing him for a beneficial reincarnation into the next life. He learned many ways of aerodynamic acrobatics. Takeshi could scale a 100 ft wall within seconds. And move faster then a bullet in short bursts of energy.
Takeshi became a nomad for 3 years traveling from town to town discovering his OWN unknown powers as he went. He discovered his Sword could actively deflect Negative Energy(this being black, dark, or anykind of manipulated energy used to harm another being). Locals called Negative Energy Magick. The True Dragon Blade could also be used as a Chi Channeling device. Takeshi could disperse his on chi in the form of SHadow Energy(Blasts of Dark lightning) towards his Enemy. But Takeshi's Endurance allows him only enough chi to deflect and Conjure limited amounts of energy before he has to avoid enemy contact while he regains his Chi. Takeshi became master level skilled in every weapon system known to Japan. Takeshi also learned to Channel his Chi into duplicating himself into more then one physical form. although this ":Copy Form" is limited to melee attacks and has reduced speed and endurance (reduced by half with each additional form created) is still a great diversion or good for easy enemies. These Copy forms are constructed of Shadow NInja Chi therefore once struck with a strong melee attack it disintegrates. Takeshi could leap great distances up to 50 meters, and could bound to another location in mid air.
Takeshi still travels Japan for many years. His enemies who have not died by his hands understand that if you fight Takeshi you must eliminate him. Do not spare him mercy or let him escape you if he flees. Because if you encounter him again he will adapt to your movements making him a much more dangerous opponent.

Takeshi Ryuu Hayabusa's SKills

<.< Oh please...you haven't seen jack honey. (5 year vet of Text based RPing.)

@Lander" FF ftw. This character happens to come from a Final Fantasy website I've owned for three years.
See?
I took off a lot of the "god-moddy" skills for this type of RPing, since there's no real track of magic or endurance. Hopefully this is watered down enough.

Image

Age: 18
Race: Guardian
Gender: Female
Home World: Earth (See history overkill for details.)
Class: Elemtentalist (Water/Ice)

Weapons:
Sword of a Thousand Falls
Shield of Nazarath

Elemental Alignment:
Primary--Water
Secondary-Ice
Tietary---Cure (QED, the ability to heal. You could consider it light...or whatever.)

Fighting style: Fighting style composes mostly of short ranged melee, with some heavy spellcasting for ranged onslaughts.

-Passive Skills:
Elemental Alignment-- Strong against Fire and Lava magic. Weak against Earth and Plant magic.
Quickdraw- Able to quickly block physical attacks and executing casting, compensating for a slow movement and attack speed.
Sloth eyes- Able to quickly outmaneuver close ranged attacks, while being susceptible to long ranged onslaughts.

===========================

Attacks:
Typhoon Wave: From behind the caster errupts a large wave, about ten feet in height and ten feet in length rushes forward and deals damage to anything in its path, including to allies. (This includes the caster.)

Azure Arrows: forms her fingers into a gun shape, and casts Azure Arrows, which forms water into five, six foot arrows, and target a foe, singling them out. The arrows then focus in and slice through the target.

Aqua Purge: spreads out her fingers and hand, and a large orb of water springs around the target. It is about ten feet in diameter, but may be extended to cover a certain target or groups of targets. It can also be used as an attack, that surrounds a target and crushes them with water; however, it cannot be used as a finishing move, for it is too weak a crush to fataly injure someone.

Blizzaga: Strong ice-elemental attack.

Ice Brand: Sword attack with ice element. Deals Medium damage.

Water: Weak/medium water attack.

-------------------------------------

Good Qualities: It's clear that Rose is a seasoned fighter from more than one plane of reality, and that wisdom from her multiple battles seems to have been pushed out into the surface; making her wiser and more aware of her surroundings. She seems to be very open to learning about power now. Arianne also seems to be an excellent leader and a truly loyal friend. When she sticks to a promise, good or bad, she will keep that promise until it is finally finished.

Bad Qualities: Extreemely naive, Rose can often let her emotions get the better of her. She tends to often leap long before she ever watches where she's going. She's hardly known for her power of speed. Despite all her goodness, however, some sins of her own, such as wrath and (meh heh heh) lust, tend to drag her sense of morals down.

STATS: ((mhm...))
Attack/Strength Power: Above Average.
Defense: COLOSSAL.
Magic/Mana Power: Average
Magic/Mana Defense: Average. This depends on the element of spell. Pinky is weak to Thunder/Rose/Plant magic. Any of it. It will cause critical damage, no matter what....unless she dodges it.

Speed: VERY VERY VERY LOW.
Accuracy: Low
Evasion/Agility: Largely Above Average
Luck/Chance: Low

PER-SON-AL-EH-TAW:
A born leader, Rose does her best to lead the crusade against the doings of wrong. She's often very outgoing, friendly, and polite, but sometimes a rude or inverted personality can clash with her own. She's set on making things right in this world, and will do anything she can, even risk her life, to make sure it happens. She's very brave, but can be rash when it comes to making short-notice descisions, or choices when it comes to her friends. Often, she's too trusting, and once you stick with her, you're often stuck for good.

Affinities: Lawful Good (dungeons and dragons? bring dice.) :awesome:

Appearance: ((See picture))

History: WARNING! HISTORY OVERKILL!
Hidden:
The Guardians were created for the soul purpose of restoring and keeping balance in all the worlds, when Axtor, the god of Chaos and Segregation began his rampage alongside his cohorts; Doogix, the god of Fear and Nightmares, Xenli, God of Mourning and Sorrow, and Jixei, the Goddess of Curses and Misfortune. They were, at first, created by the deities below the High Seraph, unnamed, to restore the balance which they felt was threatened by Xanvi, the Goddess of Prosperity and Unity. Because the worlds thrived, she began to grow more and more powerful, and thus, the other deities sought to restore that balance back with their creations. The High Seraph disapproved of Axtor and his fellow monstrosities being forged, as he felt that the people of the worlds he created should be allowed peace and prosperity, as he intended.
Axtor, furious and insulted that the Seraph chose Xanvi over himself, began to well up rage and anger inside of him. The other beings above the clouds used this to fuel his potential, teaching him many secrets of magic in their own private time. This worried the Seraph, as he did not wish to remove Axtor, believing that all creatures deserved their chance to live when born. When Axtor used his powers to create another world outside all other worlds, the High Seraph voiced his concerns, but the other deities praised the young god's abilities, only fueling his hubris. They began to use this place as a trashbin of sorts, tossing away creations gone wrong and not sought to live in the other realms in their eyes. Thus, the world Axtor created became filled with misfits and beasts of all sorts, and their hate and anger for the gods who had betrayed them made them more monstrous than before. The more beings which entered this cold and unfeeling realm, the more they began to rebel, and soon, no god would dare open a portal to that world at all, for fear of not being able to control the creatures inside. The realm became known as Twilight Hell, and Axtor was considered its unholy king.

The High Seraph finally discovered the situation in Twilight Hell, and planned to strip Axtor and his fellow creations to the world of the mortals. But Sheeba, the Goddess of secrets and mystery, told Axtor and the others, warning them to flee into Twilight Hell before the Seraph could find them; for she found herself a close friend of the blooming god. And so, Axtor, Doogix, Xenli, and Jixei fled into Twilight Hell, considered lost and gone by the other beings up in the world above the worlds.
...Or so they had thought.

Without consideration of the consequences, more and more monsters still went into Twilight Hell, every so often. The High Seraph tried his best to monitor the events going on in the Realm of the Damned, but so clouded with emotions and sinister darkness, that even he himself could not see within the deep abyss. Little did they know Axtor was plotting his revenge.

Then one day, on the eve of the New Moon, Axtor struck all worlds at once, slowly devouring them with his army of monsters and creatures which the other beings had so generously given him. Marching across the worlds, unopposed, he conquered them all but one, Nazarath, the Middle Realm, which the High Seraph saved just in time with the last of his strength.

And so, with Axtor ruling the worlds from his own realm, the other deities were slowly loosing power, despite their people praying to them with all their might to save them. The power of true hate and true evil had thrown the gods and goddess out of their own worlds which they had created, and they could do nothing. The Realms were lost.
But the High Seraph did not loose hope for his children. Thus, he sent one great being to Nazarath, now called Earth, and called upon the other deities to find a solution to free the other worlds.

This meeting, called the Call of Divinity, sparked the idea of the great and mighty warriors , who would fight Axtor and finally free the realms from his evil clutches; The Guardians of Light.
From four Elements came fourth four Guardians, and they were given the absolute powers over their respected elements. ((Fire, Wind, Water, Earth.)) However, Axtor's nature was unforgiving, and his hate blinded the Seraph from delivering them together on one world so they could defeat him. Instead of four fully grown, all-powerful beings, they pretty much had to settle for four babies in the wombs of four rather unexpecting women, which would all take ages to grow, and would really never come together, persay.

Or, at least that's what many believed.

Soon, there were additions to the Guardians of Light, such as the Seeker, a gifted mage selected by the High Court of Magic, and the self-proclaimed Guardian of the Dark, who in truth was born from the darkness in not only the hearts of the worlds here, but of the darkness in the hearts of every world in every universe.
While these Guardians paired up in groups sometimes, there was always one who defected to evil, and they never could ban together to defeat Axtor and his minions.

Thousands of Millions of years passed. Still Axtor reigned over the worlds, and he set his sights on Earth, the Middle Realm, which had suddenly sprouted intelligent life which he could rule over. Axtor turned his gaze to Nazarath, but found he could not enter the world on his own on account of its powerful shielding. Instead, he sent a mighty dark wizard, Haku, in his place, and he slowly began to corrupt followers to take over the globe.

As Axtor began to look to Earth, the Guardians did also, following and foiling his plots for global domination over and over again, from Prince Phillip of Spain to Adolf Hitler.

And then one day, Axtor had a terrible vision; a vision where he would be defeated by the Guardians reborn in the dawn of the 21st century. This made the evil God shake with fear, and he ordered for all infants to be slain in the worlds he controlled. From the year 1990 (in Earth years, naturally) to 2000, every child born was killed on report.
So Axtor was told.

Eight had escaped to Earth. Eight was all the worlds ever needed. Of course, three were not Guardians. But the other five...the other five grew strong on Earth...and then one fateful day, in a small Texas town named Copperas Cove....

Five friends grew up together, from Middle School up to their eighth year. They were truly the best of friends, praying to never part. Little did they know of their power, which was maturing with their own bodies, into something far more powerful than books and learning....something which would destroy a power-hungry God.

It was the Water Guardian who first had the dreams of maturing power, despite being the most immature of the group. Then, the Air Guardian began to hear voices, speaking from books. The Guardian of Earth started to talk to a strange creature, half cat and half mouse, which nobody else could see. The Guardian of Fire began to experience hot flashes.
Nothing ever happened to The Guardian of Darkness....for she was not a teenager, and had long since turned 18.
Their powers finally reached the point of breaking, where at that point, Haku, the keeper of the Book of the Worlds had tracked them. He sent his most loyal servant, Cypher, to destroy them, but she failed once the friends reached a grove, where their Holy Beasts were waiting to bestow their true potential.

From there, the Guardians of Earth (now renamed, and called the Guardians of Nazarath on other worlds,) fought to defend their own world from everything from Zombies and giant dragonflies, to the powerful Haku and the Sisterhood of the Fang. Even when the Air Guardian defected and became evil, slowly turning her friends against one another, still they battled against the evil Haku.
In the process of destroying the manipulated man, they find new friends, such as KI, the dog demon, who was the cousin of the Dark Guardian, and Shiochi, the Seeker in training who came to aid them in their time of need. But they also find new enemies, such as Mystica and Luna, and Rain...the terrible dark side of the Guardian of Water.

With Haku defeated, the Guardians searched the globe for pieces of the Book of the Worlds, to travel from world to world and save them from the growing power of Axtor and his cohorts. Despite much hardship from Cypher and her new army, the Black Star, the Guardians of Earth placed the Worlds back as they once were, freeing them from Axtor's grasp.

But when Axtor finally lost his grip on the final world, he devised a plan, and planted a small part of himself deep within the heart of each of the Guardian. These pieces sought out another person to control, and this person was Arrow; the shy, meek boy whom The Fire Guardian had a small crush on.
Arrow became more and more powerful in the ways of evil magic and began to assemble an army, gathering beasts from Twilight Hell. Using Arrow as a host, Axtor created a new body which was like a gigantic fortress, filled with mazes and puzzles and magic, preventing anybody from destroying him.

The Guardians gathered their own fighting force from each world, attacking Axtor and his army of Twilight Hell beasts, which seemed almost unending. The Guardians themselves journeyed inside Axtor's body, seeking to destroy him once and for all, and put him back in his place. Inside, they encountered several challenges which shook their friendships to the very core, and many lives were lost, including Cypher's, whom after being defeated, agreed to fight alongside our heroes in order to redeem herself and perhaps free her younger brother, whom Axtor had trapped. Cypher sacrificed herself at the final test, and so the Protectors of the Realms fought to avenge her and all those lost under his cruel rule.

After the final battle, Arrow and Cypher's brother, Cinna, were freed, and Twilight Hell's portal collapsed, signaling the end of Axtor's reign. The High Seraph himself thanked them for their loyalty and strength, and thus the worlds were connected again.

:icon_thumright: I'm impressed. We could do with a few more accomplished RPers around here. Will we be seeing you in the next mafia? :weird: (not that it has anything to do with roleplaying, but it seems up your alley...)

But both of you forgot to put your character in the battlefield...with two posts, battle can ensue. Of course there's nothing that says dialog isn't allowed before other people show up...

And thanks for the FF comment, heh...the two Battlefields I've played I chose Squall and Cloud, respectively. ;) It's a shame neither of those were seen all the way through, but I was still alive in both when they officially "died".

Also seeing as how Bahamut could talk in FF8 I may or may not interact with you guys...but I won't be fighting or interfering with battles.

I thought that too, but agility=/=speed. Her movement and attack speed is really low, while her reflexive speed (dodging, blocking, etc) is really good.

If you're not going to play, GTFO. :weird:

Donor: Guardian (2009)
WARNING: HOMESTUCK SPOILERS

Name: Jackspers Noirlecrow (Jack Noir)
Origin: Homestuck (mspaintadventures)
Appearance: Image

Abilities: Extreme skill with bladed weapons, namely the ninja sword built into his torso which can be removed and replaced at will, and his various Regiswords. He was able to seemingly effortlessly cut through a gigantic chain connecting a moon to its planet.

His ring grants him his changed appearance which gives him the following abilities:

Flight (with his wings)

The ability to... use his two tentacles.

A built in ninja sword.

Fast movement.

Chaotic Magic that takes the form of red bolts of destruction that spider out from his ring at will.
EDIT: I suppose I'll be more specific, these bolts are extremely powerful and capable of destroying a small planet.

Like so.

I think that about covers it.

IC: Jack swoops down onto this bizarre Land that just appeared in the Medium, landing on the edge of a cliff overlooking a deep canyon. He just kind of stands there so that he doesn't flip the Fuzzy Bunny out about the misstep he recently made.

Warning, huge spoilers in my bio if you haven't played but want to play the Kingdom Hearts series.

Image

Time's up.

Riku (Pre-Transformation)

Biography: Best friend and friendly rival of Sora since childhood, Riku is the cool, confident, and mature one of the trio. He is also somewhat dark at heart by comparison at times, though rarely has such intentions. After recovering his body from Ansem (or, more accurately Xehanort's heartless), Riku chose to mimic the clothing of Organization XIII in order to get through their web to assist in the restoration of Sora's memories.

Abilities: Fighting with the Soul Eater keyblade, Riku is a proficient swordsman and has some skill with magic. (I will restrict myself to basic Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, Aero, and Cure spells, only a few of each.) When in the heat of combat, he can add a Limit Break-esque glow to his weapon for highly extended reach and power. In a time of even greater need, Riku can release the darkness left in him (alongside that of Xehanort's heartless) to take that form, though this can not be reverted.
[I'll omit his actual limit break in this form.]

Ruki (Transformed):
Image
(Terrible image, but all that really changes is the face.)

Bio: After losing in combat against Roxas, Riku unleashes the darkness in his heart, wielding its power to gain the appearance of "Ansem". Alongside this, he is accompanied by the dark creature "Ansem" once was shielded by, though this is only recorded to have been used by Riku to restrain others.

Abilities: Having unleashed the darkness, Riku supposedly can not return to his former self. That is his tradeoff for greater strength, his bodyguard, and (as I've decided, not game-wise) the unlocking of his "Limit Break", essentially dashing rapidly through the air with a thrust before ending in a great series of slashes.
If allowed, I'd like to upgrade all remaining spells at this point to -ara class. The increase isn't just power, but both visual and how the spells themselves work.

Riku (Reverted):
Image

Bio & Abilities: Through a burst of light caused by the explosion of Ansem's creation, Riku was cleansed of his darkness and brought back fully and proper to his human self. Despite his shame of having given into the darkness, he hasn't lost a step of his abilities with his Keyblade (which has changed from Soul Eater to Way Of The Dawn, no statistic difference). Despite this change, his magic is still "dark" labeled between a shield, bursts of surprisingly dark fire, and a healing ability very well trained to consume all-but-one-ounce of his magical stamina for the moment.
Having changed, matured, and been cleansed physically of his past mistakes, he also loses his previous Limit Break. This can very well be made up for with very Sora-esque fighting abilities in the battlefield, and I will post a list of what kinds of techs / boosts I'm referring to.

BIC...

A portal of swimming darkness appeared, and a mere boy in a black coat lined with silver walked out. In his hand, a weapon shaped like a key and formed like a demon's wing. Despite the blindfold over his eyes, he could very well see and sense those around him, unable to recognize faces but aware as if unrestricted. The people around him were... odd, new, but definitely not without power. "Heh... How's this supposed to help me bring back Sora?" Dispelling his keyblade with a flash of light, Riku began walking quite idly out to the center of the area. "Sheesh, it's hotter than Agraba..."

Wait one second. Pinkyrose's character is self-made. Isn't that against the rules of the Battlefield?

So, gonna pull a Tahu here and I'll be playing as Sovereign from Mass Effect
Image
Hidden:
Quote:
Sovereign is a gigantic starship of almost unimaginable power and sophistication. Commander Shepard originally believed Sovereign was a Reaper vessel that Saren Arterius found and somehow reactivated, but discovers Sovereign is in fact a Reaper itself, a fully sentient and extremely powerful AI, which is why the geth obey its commands. They see Sovereign as the pinnacle of AI evolution and worship it as a god. However, Sovereign regards the geth as no more than tools to aid in the return of the Reapers and is even insulted by the worship the geth "throw" at it, and Saren as simply a useful slave.
A vanguard of the Reapers left behind to instigate their eventual return from dark space, Sovereign has spent the last 50,000 years in a state of near-constant hibernation, waking periodically to assess the evolution of organic races. It was the duty of the starship to bring about the next revolution of the cycle, and serve as the harbinger for the return of its kind by sending a signal to the keepers on the Citadel. This would make the keepers open the Citadel relay, a mass relay that leads to dark space, and usher the Reapers through.
Sovereign is also able to control organic life through the process of indoctrination. A subtle field or signal surrounds the Reaper, gradually affecting the organic's mind until they are little more than a shell of their former self, bent on doing Sovereign's will. Sovereign has nothing but contempt for any lesser beings, seeing them as fleeting and temporary, whereas the Reapers are eternal. It also seemed angered by the attempts of organic life to defend their claim to the Citadel, claiming "this station is mine."

Ok, now I'm actually going to be playing as Saren Arterius possessed by Sovereign:
Himself:
Image

Interior components:
Image

Backstory: Saren Arterius, born 2139, is the longest serving turian member of the Spectres, the elite operatives answering directly to the Citadel Council. For 24 years, he has been an agent of the Council's will, a zealous defender of galactic stability in the unsettled border region of the Skyllian Verge.
Official records of Spectres are sealed, but it is known that Saren followed turian tradition and entered the military at the age of 15. In 2155 he was promoted to active service after only a year of training, though it is unclear whether his unit was involved in any of the battles against human forces during the First Contact War of 2157.
In 2159 he became the youngest turian ever accepted into the Spectres. Intelligent, cunning and capable, Saren quickly developed a reputation for ruthless efficiency. Although there were a number of unsettling rumors concerning the brutality of his methods, there was no denying his results.
In recent years, Saren has become an outspoken opponent of human expansion. Like many other non-humans, he believes the Systems Alliance has become overly aggressive in its efforts to establish the people of Earth as a dominant species in Citadel space. Historically, species take centuries to accomplish what humanity had achieved in less than one, and there are several species that have a "lower" standing on the Citadel compared to humanity, despite having been part of the Citadel community longer.
His speciesism is speculated to have originated in the First Contact War, when the turians attacked Shanxi. In the novel, Mass Effect: Revelation, Anita Goyle informs David Anderson that Saren lost a brother in the war and has disliked humanity ever since.[1] After their abortive mission together, Saren retained a particular dislike of Captain Anderson.
Saren has little regard for life. He does not see saving lives as a priority unless the Council deems it necessary, or if there is information to be gathered. He remains the Council's top agent despite his records: Saren may be ruthless and calculating, but he gets results. After meeting Sovereign, Saren infused himself with large parts of Reaper technology, giving him impressive strength, speed, durability and weapons, at the cost of complete indoctrination, effectively destroying his willpower. Saren post-upgrades is nothing more than a husk of his former self.

Abilities: Extremely fast movement speed (Like, REALLY REALLY REALLY fast) allows Saren to dodge attacks and move around with ease. He has extremely powerful arm strength that coupled with his CQC Military training allow him to be efficient in melee ranges. However, his preferred method of style is keeping his distance and firing:
A) A barrage of seven mass increased projectiles (thanks to Mass Effect fields) that fire out of his mouth at speeds similar to projectiles fired by railguns, creating so much friction the air around it turns into plasma.
B) A scaled down version of Sovereigns main gun, which uses an electromagnetic field to fire a stream of molten metal at a fraction of the speed of light. This stream has been shown capable of melting through regular kinetic barriers, and, in Sovereign's case, completely melting through an Alliance Dreadnought-class ship. (Think of this as a shoop-da-whoop laz0r beam)
The augmentation of reaper technology to sovereigns shell also gave him his own personal kinetic barriers, these shields safely deflect small objects traveling at rapid velocities. This affords protection from bullets and other dangerous projectiles, however kinetic barriers do not protect against extreme temperatures, radiation or toxins.

Explanation of Mass Acceleration: A mass accelerator propels a solid metal slug using precisely-controlled electromagnetic attraction and repulsion. The slug is designed to squash or shatter on impact, increasing the energy it transfers to the target. If this were not the case, it would simply punch a hole right through, doing minimal damage.
Accelerator design was revolutionized by element zero. A slug lightened by a mass effect field can be accelerated to greater speeds, permitting projectile velocities that were previously unattainable. If accelerated to a high enough velocity, a simple paint chip can impact with the same destructive force as a nuclear weapon. However, mass accelerators produce recoil equal to their impact energy. This is mitigated somewhat by the mass effect fields that rounds are suspended within, but weapon recoil is still the prime limiting factor on slug velocity.

IC: As Saren's shuttle went through the Mass Relay, he immediately arrived on a blank world, the rapid deceleration from the speed of light in an area containing an atmosphere instantly caused the destruction of his ship's systems. He crash-landed somewhere in this bleak land. As he walked out of his ship, he once again fell under control of Sovereign, as the words came echoing through his head, he spoke out to anyone within hearing distance "I am the vanguard of your destruction. I. Am. Sovereign. "

Wow. We have one person capable of destroying spaceships (big ones, I presume) and another who can destroy planets. I was going to try and stay with lower-powered characters this time through, but I'm seriously considering switching to someone a lot more powerful. Lander, as the host, would you like to set a baseline power level to aim for?

Who are you seeing that can destroy planets? :?:

Antic will have to be careful, judging by his description all of his shots are potential killshots plus he has an apparent ability to make a forcefield that can block incoming range attacks...

I can't make a base power level when people are choosing characters from different games but I thought the singular character with old-style melee weapons (swords, etc) trend was a good one. I don't want to restrict Antic but I do have to ask, what are your weaknesses? How in the world would a fight between you and any other characters posted be a fair fight?

I already told AoB he could create a character of his own if he wanted to...she's been incredibly thorough and her character adheres to rules that we know (the Final Fantasy system), so why not?

EDIT: I suppose I'll be more specific, these bolts are extremely powerful and capable of destroying a small planet.

That.
Also, on the subject of custom characters, in my first Battlefield (6, I think), I was disallowed from using a custom character even though I was well willing to scan in a full character sheet, and I would think that most of us are familiar with Dungeons & Dragons or something similar (this is a RuneScape forum). I will also say that I have never played a single Final Fantasy game, so I have next to no idea how the specifics work (though I understand they vary widely between games).
Lastly, on power level, the whole "old-style melee weapons" was what I was thinking (swords, to be precise; lots of swords), but against Antic, I'm thinking I'm going to have to find someone on the same power level (not easy, by the way, unless I want to open the massive can of worms that would be shonen anime).

Your name is VRISKA SERKET.

Hidden:
You are a master of EXTREME ROLE PLAYING. You can't get enough of it, or really any game of high stakes and chance. You have persisted with the habit even in spite of your ACCIDENT. But then again, you don't have much choice.

Your lusus is VERY HUNGRY, ALL THE TIME. She can only be appeased by the FLESH OF YOUNG TROLLS. You cloud campaigns for teams of Flarpers, utilizing your abilities for ORCHESTRATING THE DEMISE OF THE IMPRESSSSSSSSIONA8LE. Your victories supply you with treasure, experience points, and SPIDER FOOD.

You are something of an APOCALYPSE BUFF, which is something you can be on Alternia. You are fascinated by end of the world scenarios, and enjoy constructing DOOMSDAY DEVICES for the hell of it. You are drawn to means of DARK PROGNOSTICATION and the advantages they offer, particularly in gaming scenarios. Your abilities in this department were hobbled with the loss of your VISION EIGHTFOLD, and you have since sought alternatives through various BLACK ORACLES. You consult with these ominous globes, but routinely destroy them in frustration over the PUZZLING GUARANTEED INACCURACY of their predictions. Breaking them has developed into a habit BORDERING ON FETISHISTIC, and with each you destroy, you add to an insurmountable stockpile of TERRIBLE LUCK. You have to stop. But addiction is a powerful thing.

Your trolltag is arachnidsGrip and your st8ments tend to 8e just a little 8it overdramaaaaaaaatic.

You already know that you're going to have an edge in this competition due to your history of EXTREME ROLE PLAYING. You have ALL THE LEVELS, and as such have a wide variety of experience with different types of weaponKinds. Your personal favorite is DICEKIND, with which you wield the fabled FLUORITE OCTET.

It consists of eight D8, plundered from a ghost ship during a particularly challenging campaign. In ancient times such weapons were employed by roving bands of GAMBLIGNANTS, deadly marauders with a passion for chance. They all died off though. Took too many crazy risks. 8ut if you're going to go out, you might as well go out in style!!!!!!!!

Rolling the dice will execute a wide range of highly unpredictable attacks. Very high rolls can be devastating to even the most powerful opponents.

However, in the rare occasion that you do not wish to place your life in the hands of fate, you use your second favorite weaponKind, DAGGERKIND. With the legendary OCCAM'S RAZOR at your disposal and the increased strength provided by your ROBOTIC ARM and TROLL HERITAGE, you are not one to be toyed with in melee combat.

Your advantages are not only limited to being the best ROLE PLAYER in ALTERNIA. Because of your blue blood, you have an ACCELERATED HEALING FACTOR beyond the normal healing that most trolls have. As such, your wounds heal very quickly, with only the most lethal even phasing your incredibly high pain tolerance!

Another prize from your many exploits was your ROCKET BOOTS. These fantastic pieces of footwear allow you to fly and increase your speed dramatically when activated. You are very skilled with them, and have even managed to WEAPONIZE them on multiple occasions.

As previously stated, you have the ability to MANIPUL8 THE IMPRESSIONA8LE through PSYCHIC POWERS. This technique allows you to completely sway lesser minded fools over to your side. You're not sure if you'll be able to use it here, however.

Last, but definitely not least, you are an EXPERT IN STAT KEEPING due to your extensive FLARP experience. Since you can so easily determine stats, you know all of the STRENGTHS and WEAKNESSES of almost anything you see!

All of them!

YeaH!!!!!!!!

--- IC: ---

In the LAND OF MAPS AND TREASURE. The THIEF OF LIGHT works towards ascending into her first gate. VRISKA SERKET decides to forgo the boring puzzles and building of SGRUB, and instead pops on her ROCKET BOOTS and flies through her first gate. She does not arrive in the mysterious land of her MOIRAIL as planned, however. Her gate takes her to barren desert unlike anything she has ever seen before. She instinctively recoils from the BLISTERING SUN, but to her surprise she is unharmed. Whether it is the game's accommodation for her species' vulnerabilities to SUNLIGHT, or some other force is irrelevant to her. She can see other figures in the desert, but stays high up in the sky, choosing to OBSERVE THEIR STATS for later use.

Tech-nic-ally, that's been a guideline. It's been highly handy to have documented proof of the limits of abilities and so on, so it's a de facto rule to say "No uber-custom characters".
Besides. "Roleplay and Literary" society. It's nice to have a little well-written change of pace, if there are no objective reasons to the character existing.
