I feel a little disappointed still that del Toro got out of The Hobbit project, but on the other, THIS IS BASICALLY ANIME: THE MOVIE.

I'm happy. Thoughts?

More like power rangers with a side of AWESOME!

I hope this movie is better than transformers. I'll see it most likely.

I guess I just have different taste, but I couldnt believe what I was seeing when this trailer came on. Possibly the stupidest trailer Ive ever seen that wasn't from a rom-com. I wasn't alone too, there were a ton of people laughing at it in our theater. Oh well, to each their own.

That's what makes it AWESOME. ROCKET PUNCHES.

This director makes some really good movies is the thing (Pan's Labyrinth, The Devil's Backbone), so it'll probably be a really good movie wrapped in a ton of stupid concepts. Like the Hellboy movies that he loves making.

But...Guillermo Del Toro is a Fuzzy Bunny director.

Oh so good.

If you like anime or grew up with power rangers, this movie is really excellent. Definitely worth the money.

From all of the various reports I'm hearing, this is one of those movies you either really love or you really hate. If you're not already excited to see it, it's probably not worth your time.

Just got back from watching this. It's a fun movie for sure, but I had a difficult time taking it seriously, and I found myself day-dreaming during some of the battle scenes.

I could barely hold back my laughter when they finally decided to use the jaeger sword about 2/3rds of the way through the goddamn movie. Why didn't anyone think to use this insta-win weapon in all of the previous battles?

Also, I think they could have gotten a better actress for Rei Ayanami.

You should watch it soon if you still plan to. I think this is the last week it's in theatres, and most theatres have stopped showing it (at least in my area).

I'd love to but my brother saw it last week while I was out of state and I don't really want to go alone and it's probably done showing around here anyway. :( Oh well...
