I think I have come up with the perfect ending to this season / The Office entirely. As we all know, this is Steve Carell's last season. So midway through the season he just does not show up for one episode. Nobody is THAT concerned, just assuming that he's sick. However, in the next episode they start to panic because he does not show up again.
This is where it gets awesome. They go to his house, and notice that there's quite a bit of mail and stuff left over. Dwight breaks in, much to the behest of the rest of the Office regulars. "Oh man, it sure smells bad in here." They make their way to the master bathroom, and what they find there is horrifying. Michael slipped while coming out of the shower, cracked his skull, and died. NOW THAT'S A WAY TO END STEVE CARELL'S CHARACTER! The rest of the season is everyone dealing with the death of Michael. People become very upset to find that there is no family planning a funeral or even trying to do anything about it. The Office crew plans Michael Scott's funeral, attends it, and then it's over. That's how the show ends. A pan from the graveyard to the office building, with a voice over from Michael Scott from earlier episode talking about friendship.

They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel this season. :|

I liked 'The Viewing' (the episode about watching Glee at Gabe's house), and 'WUPHF.com' was good too.

Everything else has been pretty blah though, and none of the episodes are nearly as good as the ones from Season 2, 3, and parts of 4.

I barely even remember the fact that The Office is supposed to be a mockumentary.

I actually stopped watching it. They are really just dragging it on. Do you notice how the opening theme is now just about the goofiness of the office as opposed to the old theme, where people are just regular joes working? I guess the first few seasons (when it was good), was when people/viewers were actually able to relate to the characters on the show.

Yeah I noticed that too.

It's very rare to see them doing real office work for more than a few seconds.

I miss hearing "Dunder Mifflin, this is Pam." :(

Not sure if any of you are still watching, but I just got done with "The Search" and I have to say I really enjoyed the episode. Probably the best episode of the season, IMO. That's not saying much considering how drab this season has been. Basically, it was good for this season.

The highlight of this season is a one minute David Brent cameo!

I think the office has been decent this season, much better than last season. I am really excited for the will farrell episodes though! the show that I love, however, is outsourced.

Any of you still keeping up with this show?

I just finished the last episode of the series, "Finale", and I have to say it was pretty damn good. It felt a little bit like a "greatest hits" of The Office, so maybe they took the easy route, but I liked the fact that it had a lot of look-backs and references to some of the earlier Office seasons. It was an episode for the fans, and it tied everything up pretty well, while still having a ton of neat surprises.

I'm gonna miss the heck out of this show.

that makes me want to get into it again. I used to watch a few episodes every day. they were so great.
but then it started getting a bit old, and some psychopath with an english accent became a regular character. then I heard micheal was leaving.
I have yet to watch a will farrell episode. Its mostly a principal thing. I don't believe will could be as good as steve.

I kinda enjoyed the Will Ferrell episodes because I'm a huge Ferrell fan. But in the context of The Office, those episodes definitely feel out of place. Or rather, transitional. The purpose of the Ferrell arc was to build up anticipation for the NEXT new manager.

That English psychopath you're talking about is Catherine Tate. She's actually a very funny comedian, but she didn't really fit into The Office. It'd be like if they tried to put Jon Stewart in a few episodes of Friends. It just wouldn't work. They toned her character down a little bit, so over time she becomes slightly bearable.

Bittersweet to see the show go. I looked forward to watching it every week, but it definitely overstayed its welcome. Glad to see it go with a little dignity intact.
