I'll admit, it's been quite a while since I've watched any anime, so I'm not very familiar with any of the shows currently or recently airing.

But this news managed to reach me, and I'm glad it did since it concerns my favorite series. A spinoff of the Haruhi Suzumiya storyline, called The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, is getting an anime series!

For those who don't know/remember, Nagato Yuki-chan is a series based the alternate universe visited in Disappearance. The spinoff doesn't really concern itself with the sci-fi material at all; it just presents itself as a standard slice-of-life.

I'm not sure if I'm even going to like this anime, but it's nice to see that the Haruhiverse is getting some much-needed attention, even though it's rather indirect.
