I went to the Blizzard website and navigated my way to games -> StarCraft -> and then clicked download. I had to create a free Blizzard account then log in before downloading it.
Based on what I've read around the interwebs, they've remastered the original game and the brood war expansion. Now they are releasing it for free!

Just to clarify, they are releasing the original version for free. The remaster will be sold at a cost, when it comes out later this year.

But yeah Starcraft is freaking awesome.

I played the remastered version over the last couple of weeks. They did a terrific job with it. It feels like the old game, down to the kinks.
