That's irritating when Jagex sends all those automated messages. But i think someone posted a screenshot of one after the person sent a message that was quite funny and only got an automated message back.

I haven't missed you at all Jagex :awesome:

That reminds me of a story about Steam support.

Also, I logged in and beat one of the new quests for F2P. I'm not quite sure I like this whole "monsters are scaled to your level" thing. Part of the fun of over-training was you that anything that challenged you had just opened a can of whoopass. Also, the boss was impossible to beat without having EoC turned on. Doing that in Legacy mode is just... No.

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

There better be updates! The whole thing is screwed up.
They didn't fix the armour(they still think rune requires 50, addy 40 etc. and green chaps require 40 def and 40 rng).
And the combat level is very bizarre. Market_Man6 is 8 combat lvls lower in legacy than pre EOC.
My pkers are 0, 2, 9 and 11 levels higher in legacy than pre EOC.

Why does that need to be 'fixed' ?

•Voted for back in February by you; we will be reinstating the '138' combat formula, tweaked to give melee, ranged and magic equal contribution

It was fixed because it was never Jagex' intention to allow pures to be more powerful than their combat level implies. This was the reason for the level 200 combat system - Jagex does not approve of pures.

As for the level requirements for armours, Jagex spread out the levels on armours because melee was missing a level 50 set and you had two sets at level 1 and a set again at level 5 and 10. Rune requiring was the fix to a broken distribution of armours.
Ranged armours already have armour sets for every 10 levels, so there was nothing that needed changing.

I hate to say it, but regarding your concerns, Jagex did it right.

Aren't they also offering stat resets to people who had pure accounts?

Yes, they are.
But they still try to find ways to make them obsolete.

So I can resume playing the game I used to love.
I don't want my 1def pkers to have to wear poorer armour because someone decided to change the rules. I trained my accounts for a specific purpose. All that effort turns out to be a waste. :( ...Earning range, strength or magic levels while remain at 1 defence is a challenge of its own. Getting to training locations without dieing, always having adequate food for training, more frequent bank runs, not letting auto-retaliate pull you into danger, were all added difficulties. The reward for this was dragonhide armour.

Regardless if they like it or not, PKers are a cornerstone of their game. They can't continue messing with this, and expect the game to grow.

Ranged armours already have armour sets for every 10 levels, so there was nothing that needed changing.

I don't believe the distribution was broken. It worked because having more frequent armour unlocks at lower levels kept newer people engaged. Also, the gap between rune and dragon made earning dragon armour a greater accomplishment. Having unlocks at uneven intervals doesn't mean its broken; its simply not aesthetically pleasing. And in my mind, that isn't grounds for revamping the entire system.
As for the ranged armours, you are right. Nothing needed to be changed; yet they introduced the requirement of 40 defence levels to wear green.

After all this, we now have to start over and identify what will have the advantage.
Will keeping 40 attack and using addy out weight the option of gaining 10 more attack with lower strength?
Will gaining 40 defence for d'hide be best? Or should we just go for the full 50 def and run around in rune? Is addy at 40 def an alternative? Or keep it low, and try with bronze? Or will a completely new combination balance out best, say with mith or steel?
I already had all this figured out once. It would have been nice if it remained pertinent.

If you don't comp within a short period of time, you may never. They're adding boss reqs to it, including Vorago, KK, ROT6 and others.

Also well done! Agility was my last one too.

Sort of.

You need the music track from Vorago obviously, but I joined a mass on release and then left.

Dealing the killing blow to Vorago is a trimmed completionist req.
