Despite it being an obvious hoax, I question the validity of their test simply because Opera scored the highest! We're testing the web software we're developing in IE/FF/Chrome/Safari/Opera and oh my god Opera is the worst it's so obnoxious. (Style-wise. IE and FF are tied for worst in other regards.) Although I can't deny Opera's mouse-motion-action-thingy. It's like driving a stick-shift on my web pages!Totally not odd. Anyone on Windows XP SP1 or earlier (and XP is still extremely widely used, semi-unfortunately) is stuck on IE6. Likewise, any Windows XP user can't use IE9, so who knows, in a couple years it might be "Ha ha you're still on IE8 whatta noob."

Anyone else find it funny that the original hoax claimed Opera users to have some of the highest IQs, when that particular browser is relatively obscure? Camino, even.

Something leads me to suspect the mastermind is an Opera fan himself.

There was an IQ test administered by my school when I was a child. I do not suspect it had much value, but I scored 115, which is just somewhat higher than average, I think. I have no clue what it would be if I took it now.

According to Windows 7, I have to use IE to get updates from Microsoft, and apparently my computer doesn't work very well with FF, but when I had XP I used FF all the time and it was amazing. Chrome is ok, Safari is meh. IE is just bleh.

The interface is pretty, for one thing. Also adblock is very straightforward to install, and page load times are quite fast.

As a matter of fact, the page load times were the fastest around for a long time, though I believe now Opera and Firefox have caught up. It's still faster than IE.
