Yup! Your inbox is where a private message will be delivered to. A quick way to get there is to click on the link: "X new messages". It is in the top right corner off the page. on the same line as: Hello, [your name]. You have [# new messages].

And you will receive a PM once your application has been reviewed by the group moderator.
I'm not sure what they will get you doing, as things aren't to busy at the moment, but i'll leave that between you and your group

The villager is dead, and not likely to be revived. TE is also a pseudo-closed and very inactive group. There's not really much reason to join.

Hard to say, we don't really have too many 'groups' anymore. If you're into anime, go check out the anime and manga shrine.

We used to have a ton of groups, but these days most of them have finished up on their duties and we've really just combined everything into the public eye. So you're really not missing much by not being in any of those groups.
