Wait...overpowered vs. Itachi? You do realize what you just said, right?

Change that to "Not recognizing damage vs. Itachi", and yes. Just realizing you're in an illusion doesn't stop you from being in it, else (as also stated in the topic's case) Kakashi wouldn't have fallen victim to Itachi as well.
Also, it took two of my three killing move uses to so much as pop a small hole in the mask of your armor and kill you.

...My point was that saying "overpowered vs. Itachi" is a pot kalling the kettle black, given that Itachi's known among the Battlefield community as one of the most overpowered characters to ever appear in one.
Anyway, moot point, that battlefield's over, time to sign up for the new one.
