Last time, on DTbook1...
After Strangerr’s disappearance, everyone planned what to do next. Jamie urged to find Strangerr and finish off the Cult of the Unknown. Tahu and Rangerbane wanted to come with him. Stip believed that Zaros’s spirit was still out there, and he was going to hunt him down, and return him to his rightful place: Inside the Zaros Amulet. “I guess this is where we part.” Stip said.

“Ya, I guess so.” Jamie replied.

“Perhaps our paths shall cross again. I had fun. Good-Bye.” Stip turned and left.

But behind them, hidden in the shadows was someone who did not care one bit about this heart-warming occasion. He grinned with a smile that would haunt a man to his dying day. His name was Strangerr. “I told you... you haven’t seen the last of me...” he whispered to himself. “Oh look... time to feed Twinteeth...” he said, and turned around and walked into the shadows.

Prologue: Zaros's Prison
Stupid! Absolutely Stupid! Why did I sacrifice myself for that mortal? Now I’m trapped inside the bones of my rotted corpse... which has become a display in the museum of Varrok! The old god Zaros cursed in his mind. He had recently sacrificed himself to save the true soul of the body he had inhabited. Something that the old Zaros never would have done. The day dragged on, many stepping into the museum to examine old pots and other junk, and this all annoyed Zaros greatly. What angered him even more, was people examining his rotting physique. The rotting physique that had been his home for many years, but now served as not a home, but a prison.

Night fell, and night finally gave Zaros some quiet. But the silence was broken by three figures in purple robes who appeared in a flash of purple light in the center of the deserted museum. They bore the symbol of Zaros on the front of their robes. They approached Zaros's skeleton, as far as they could go until the enchantments surrounding their master stopped them. "We have come, Master Zaros." one said.

The second one spoke. "We have felt that you had been torn from your amulet, and trapped inside your old, useless, body."

"And," the third one finished, "We know you could guide us to the source that you need to re-enter this world. We shall bring whatever you need to be revived."

Using his telekinetic abilities, Zaros spoke to them in their own heads. Find the one known as Stip45. He posseses my amulet, the only thing that can return me to a body. Go!

The trio tossed an assortment of runes into the air, and disappeared in another purple flash.

Part 1: The Junkyard
It was a quiet morning in Varrok, but the silence was soon broken by the loud footsteps of three adventurers. One of them, holding an anti-dragon-breath shield, and wielding a mithril scimitar. The chainmail on his chest was also mithril, and had quite a few broken links. The next, wore an amulet that shone with glory, and rune armour covered the rest of his body. The last of them, wore green dragonhide armour, and held a strung willow bow.

Their Names: Jamie, Tahu, and Rangerbane.

Their Mission: To finish off the The Cult of the Unknown.

They were headed for the Junkyard north of Varrok, which was the location of the Cult's old hideout, to look for clues to their new hideout. At the north gate of Varrok, they were stopped by a guard. "Hey! None shall pass!" the guard ordered.

Jamie was the first to react to this rejection. "Why not?"

"We just put some new safety measures on the city," the guard explained. "To find the one responsible for the recent dragon strikes on some banks."

"You guards are living in the past! That was weeks ago! And plus, there was a big ceremony celebrating the fact that we killed that dragon. And that ceremony was in this very city?" said Tahu.

"Liars!" the guard shouted. He balled his hands into fists.

"You want to fight us?" Rangerbane noticed.

"Ya, I can take you fellas!" the guard challenged. He removed his medium helmet to reveal a buzzed haircut, acompanying black and yellow teeth. Placing the helmet on the ground, he took his sword out of his sheath. "In my sleep!" he added.

"Let’s see about that!" shouted Jamie, who had picked the helmet off the ground, and also darted behind the guard. Slamming the helmet back onto the guards head, Jamie knocked him unconscious. Tahu and Rangerbane stepped over the guard to join their partner, and continued toward the junkyard.

They soon came to the familiar wooden fence, which they jumped. The stench took over the air, and everyone agreed that the Junkyard still smelt as bad as it used to. Maybe even worse. They eventually found the hole that led down, with the box that was covering it before to the side. "Ready?" Jamie asked. Tahu and Rangerbane nodded, and the group jumped down into the dark abyss.

Part 2: Under the Junkyard
"Oh my god..." was everyone's first reaction. Strangerr was right. Chrome had been here, there were all too obvious signs. The signs included bloody bodies scattering the area of the entrance room. One unarmed, another burnt to a crisp with a charred crossbow that seemed to have managed to avoid being burnt into ashes, and the last three holding some Rune Scimitars. Jamie, Rangerbane, and Tahu took one just in case. And also, just in case, Jamie kept his less powerful Mithril Scimitar. That decision to keep it had helped it before, and he was sure it would help now. Leaving Tahu to examine the charred crossbow, and Rangerbane to poke the unarmed guy with a stick, Jamie stepped forward into the next room.

The next room was the cage room. Creaking up high was a pair of cages, which Jamie and Rangerbane had been trapped in not too long ago. In the corner of the room lied a bow with the engraving of STRANGERR. Shivering at the sight of the bow that had nearly caused him to be torn apart by the cult, he noticed that Tahu and Rangerbane had caught up. "There you are!" Rangerbane exclaimed.

Tahu noticed that there were four doors in the room. One was the way they came, the others labeled: The Master Hall, a room with a rather glorious looking entrance, The Spirit Room, a dusty looking entrance next to a furnace nearby the cages, and lastly the Weapon Room. "Hey look at those doors!" he said.

The group decided to split up, Tahu going to the Weapon Room, Rangerbane taking the Master Hall, leaving Jamie to the Spirit Room...

Part 3: The Coded Clue
Tahu stepped into the Weapon Room, a was shocked to see that it was empty, except for a single crossbow. He picked it up and began to examine it.

Jamie passed the furnace, finding that it had no heat emitting from it anymore. It seemed to lead through the wall, into the Spirit Room. Stepping through the small doorway, he saw that his suspicion was correct. A manual conveyer belt ran out of the back of the long dead furnace, leading deeper into the Spirit Room. The Spirit Room was extremely dark, and Jamie could only see things within a one foot radius of himself. He took a deep breath, and began to follow the belt deeper into the room.

Rangerbane entered the Master Hall, and saw, yet again, even more bodies. He stepped around the bodies, and began to search. But, he found nothing for a while. But then, he noticed a desk sitting at the back of the room. He moved ahead to search it.

Tahu loaded a spare bolt from his pocket into the crossbow, attempting to see if it still worked. WHOOSH! The bolt, along with a piece of parchment was sent flying across the room. He dashed over, and picked up the sheet of parchment, and began to read.

Jamie continued to follow the conveyer belt, and soon came to the end. He was shocked to see a partially melted cage, much like the one he was trapped in before. And, inside it, was a horribly disfigured skeleton. He stumbled backwards, and a tile under his foot sank into the floor. Lights filled the room, revealing to Jamie, hundreds more of the skeletons. He gasped, and fell to the ground. When he was getting up, he noticed that a nearby skeleton was clutching a sheet of parchment. He pried it out of the dead hand, and began to read.

Rangerbane pulled the drawers of the desk open, one by one, to find them all empty. He did a double check, this time looking from bottom drawer to top. When he found them all empty, he slammed his fist into the top drawer. It went flying out of its space it the desk, revealing a piece of parchment where it was. He began to read. But, all he saw was a bunch of weird symbols. Frowning, he pocketed it, and made for the door.

Tahu found only odd symbols when he read the sheet of parchment, and pocketed it in frustration. He picked up the crossbow, and noticed on its side, engraved it a red mineral, Phoenix. He put it in his pack, and moved toward the door.

Jamie could not read the parchment, for it was covered it symbols that he knew not of. He pocketed it, and headed back into the cage room, to find Tahu and Rangerbane emerging from their rooms at the same time.

In unison, the three spoke. "Hi guys, you wont believe what I found! Its some strange parchment covered in symbols."

Jamie added, "Whoa... We all found one?"

"Yep," Tahu replied. "And, I found a crossbow in the weapon room. But, it was a Phoenix Crossbow...."

"Phoenix??? We forgot... Tahu, the Phoenix were working with the cult! And that means... Varrok may be in great danger!" Jamie realized.

Rangerbane noticed a pack lying on the floor. "Hey..." he picked it up.

"Wait a minute... that’s mine!" Jamie shouted. He stuffed all the stuff in his old pack into his new pack, discarding the rotten food. "Now, to Varrok, to warn the King!"

The trio made for the exit, back to above the Junkyard.

Part 4: Scarred Stip
Someone in purple robes with an odd symbol approached Seer's Village from the east. In one hand he held a dragon halberd, and in the other he held... a block of cheese. On his neck he wore an amulet that looked like it had somehow died, for it once was purple, but now was grey.

He took out a spade and dug by a tree, coming up with a goblet with the same symbol as his robes. Holding it to his amulet, his waited. Nothing happened. In frustration, he put it in his pack and entered Seers Bank.
* * * * *
On the other side of Seer's Village, someone about as evil looking as the one coming from the east entered from the west. A hooded black cape, along with equally black robes was what he wore. On his hooded cape ran down a red stripe, that looked like the scar that ran across his right eye. He saw the man in purple robes entering the bank. Smiling to himself, the man known as Scar span his staff in his hand, reaching in his pocket. His staff was pure black, and a red stone shaped like a flame was held by three holding stands was on top. He pulled out a knife from his pocket, and ran his finger down the sharp side slowly. His finger was cut and bleeding now, and he smiled. "Sharp..." he whispered.”I shall complete my mission... as I did before..." He kneeled to the ground, replacing his knife into his pocket and pulling a red book from under his coat. "Leave this place, follower of Zamorak!" shouted a nearby Seer.
Scar just smiled and stood up, pointing his staff at the Seer. "FLAMES OF ZAMORAK!"
* * * * *
Stip pulled off his purple hood, and entered his bank vault. He angrily tossed The Goblet of Zaros to the ground, the cups magic enchantments stopping it from breaking. He exited his vault just to see a Seer go flying in a horrific flare across the village. "Oh geez.... that was flames of Zamorak... that can't be good."
* * * * *
Scar quickly kneeled again, placed his book, open, on the ground, and rubbed his bloody finger on the tip of his staff. He then read out of the book. "Thineas...Darkness....Dissiteau....Darkness....Heoest 'thas.... DARKNESS OF ZAMORAK!" A black beam shot out his staff toward the sun, blotting it out, making the land dark. He smiled, put his book away, and took his knife back out. He concentrated on a number of runes in his pack, while making for the bank.
* * * * *
A woodcutter was cutting down an oak tree, when suddenly the land turned dark. Odd, he thought, That’s really odd, especially for Seers Village, being all sunny all the time... He turned around to see what was wrong. The last thing he saw was a roaring fireball that engulfed him whole and sent him lifelessly flying.
* * * * *
Stip clenched his halberd with two hands. Everyone else in the bank had fled upstairs, leaving him to fight the mysterious follower of Zamorak. Suddenly, the light of the sun flickered out. "Impossible..."
He saw someone in black robes approaching.”Wait a minute... your Scar!"
"Exactly." Scar smiled, holding his Zamorak Staff with two hands. "Let’s finish this!" he said, his eyes turning pure red with evil. He spoke again... in a different voice. "I nearly destroyed Zaros before, but you have been keeping him living. If I can destroy you and the Zaros Amulet, then he will be torn from the plane of mortals, but, seeing as he is currently no longer immortal, completely destroyed the moment he reaches the God Realm."
"Wait... that’s impossible your..." Stip groaned.
"I AM ZAMORAK! Scar and the rest of that Cult of the Unknown are just my puppets. Scar only helped you all to get Jamie to Elvarg, so Elvarg could be fed. But that plan has been thwarted, by all you! Our new mission is to get revenge... by destroying Zaros, once and for all! Now... kill him Scar!" Scar's eyes went normal; he was normal again. He raised his staff and shouted. "INVISIPATE!" Scar disappeared from view.
Stip stood his ground, swiping his halberd in attempts to hit Scar. Suddenly, he was grabbed from behind and tossed toward the bank stalls, and in a flash of light, appeared in a vault. Scar's vault. Stip saw many artifacts of Zamorak, among other things. Scar entered the vault, now visible again. He held his staff forward, pointing it at Stip. "FLAMES OF ZAMORAK!" Stip was engulfed in a fireball and was sent flying into the wall of the vault. He looked dead, burnt, and lifeless. Scar stepped up, and did several tests to see if Stip was alive. First, he stabbed Stip in the gut. He didn't flinch. Scar listened for breath. There was none. Lastly, he checked Stip's pulse. Nothing. Smiling to himself, he took the Zaros Amulet off Stip's neck. He exited the vault, leaving the lifeless body there.
* * * * *
The followers of Zaros arrived at Seer's Village. They saw someone in black robes exit the bank. The mystery man turned. He wielded a staff of Zamorak.
"I assume you are here for the Zaros Amulet." the Zamorakian said. "Well..." he took out a grey amulet that held a slight shade of purple.”Come get it."
"It is not meant for your hands, Zamorakian!" one of the purple robed men shouted. "Feel the wrath of Zaros!" he said, producing a staff of Zaros. "ZAROS STRIKE!" A purple beam shot out of his staff toward Scar. "FLAMES OF ZAMORAK!" Scar shouted. His fireball countered the beam, and the two magic spells cause a large explosion, sending the Zaros followers flying, and reached as far as where Scar was, who now had teleported, his location unknown due to the noise of the explosion.
* * * * *
Inside Scar's vault, Stip lay. Somewhere in the distance, he thought he heard someone talking to his lifeless body, inside his head. "Get up Stip... you must not die now... return the Zaros Amulet to me... stop the Cult! Wake up Stip! You cannot die! Not yet!”Stip’s heart began to beat again, he began to breath deeply, his eyes burst open, and his wounds slowly began to heal.

Part 5: Rampage of the Phoenix. One Phoenix to be exact.
Jamie, Tahu, and Rangerbane arrived at Varrok to see that they were too late. The town had been nearly completely destroyed in the time they were at the Junkyard. Dead bodies lay everywhere, and oddly, there was still loot on them. "This isn't like the Phoenix..." Jamie said. "They're thieves... why haven't they looted the bodies yet?"
"I dunno..." replied Tahu, who was looting a nearby noob.
"By the way..." Rangerbane said. "Where is the Phoenix Gang anyway?"
"Let's try for their hideout." Jamie suggested.
Soon, they faced a wooden door with a phoenix drawn on it.
"So..." Tahu said, trying to pull the full rune helmet off of the head of a nearby warrior, who was unarmed and wore no armour except for his helmet. "This...PULL!... is...PULL!...the place?"
"Yep." Jamie said. "Rangerbane, put away your bow. We need melee to defeat these guys, seeing as how they supposedly all have Dragon and Rune Scimitars..."
"Along with their crossbows." Rangerbane added.
* * * * *
Topsummoner and his two allies were hit by a huge explosion, but since half of the explosion was generated by Zaros, their master, not as much harm came as usual. For him at least. His allies where still unmoving, just lying there. That accursed Zamorakian!!, he thought. "Wait a minute... the Zamorakian!" Topsummoner got up and pointed his staff toward Scar. Or where Scar was a minute ago. He was gone, supposedly had teleported. Little did Topsummoner know, was that the teleportation spell Scar had cast was to Camelot.
* * * * *
Stip stood up, most of his wounds healed. In fact, the only thing that wasn't healed was a scar on his gut, from when Scar had stabbed him. He couldn't believe that Zaros had been able to speak to him, in the god's condition. At least, he was pretty sure it was Zaros. He rummaged through Scar's extra runes, and found a law rune, along with some death runes. He put his halberd away, producing his unique smoke staff. "FIRE BLAST!" he shouted, leaping out of the vault, leaving all of Scar's items aflame.
He exited the bank to see a follower of Zaros, who had his head turned toward Camelot. "Hey!" Stip shouted, running toward the guy. Which is when he realized the Zaros Amulet was gone; he had not even understood what Zaros had said in his head until now. "Oh geez.... Scar took the amulet..."
* * * * *
Topsummoner turned around to see Scar, approaching from Camelot, knife raised.
"AIR BOLT!" shouted Scar. A blast of wind energy erupted from the tip of his knife, creating a gust of wind that had formed an air knife. The knife glided over to Topsummoner and with a quick slash, cut his Zaros Staff in two. Scar turned his knife into a stabbing position, and thrust knife forward, causing the air knife to do so as well.
Topsummoner, at the last moment, mustered all energy in his mind to focus on his runes and shouted before the knife struck, "VARROCK TELEPORT!"
Scar grunted when he saw Stip standing behind where Topsummoner was standing. "You... impossible... I killed you..."

Stip didn't speak. He was busy trying to find a way to stop the air knife.

* * * * *
Straven looked up from his flyer reading: Come to Bob's Axes!, and saw three people wielding rune scimitar. "Intruders!" he shouted. He pulled his Dragon Scimitar from its sheath.

Jamie struck at Straven, only to have his swipe blocked by the scimitar of Straven. It shone the fierce red of dragon. Straven rolled around Jamie and struck toward his back, only to have him dodge it. Straven caught Tahu coming at him, from the corner of his eye. Turning around and blocking Tahu's strike, he held his hand toward at volley of arrows that Rangerbane had shot, for he knew a bit of magic. "FIRE STRIKE!" The arrows fell harmlessly to the ground.

Jamie swung his scimitar around just in time to stop the scimitar of a Phoenix Gang member. It was... Straven again? "But... impossible..." Jamie looked over behind him to see Straven, still locking swords with Tahu. He also caught that Rangerbane was fighting another Phoenix... another Straven! The Straven Jamie was locking swords with suddenly doubled, creating another Straven! This Straven swung his scimitar, which Jamie blocked with his Anti-Dragon-Breath Shield.

Tahu and Rangerbane were struggling as well. Jamie could fell his hands covered in sweat, and knew that Straven may strike again at any moment, and he had to be ready for it. He didn't feel ready for it.

Part 6: Impossible Enemy
Tahu calculated all of what he could do. He knew that if he broke the lock between his and Straven's scimitar, then he would be vulnerable to Straven's roll and strike attacks. He noticed that another Phoenix was in combat with Rangerbane. It was another Straven!

"Impossible..." he breathed out. Tahu's Straven saw that Tahu was distracted and gave a lunge of energy, causing Tahu to break out of the lock, giving Straven an open target.

Meanwhile, Rangerbane was having rough times in his portion of the fight. This was because he was very little skilled in the arts of melee combat, and was pushing himself to the limits in his struggle against Straven. Straven noticed Rangerbane having problems, so he smiled and multiplied until there was four facing Rangerbane, one on each side.

Jamie, held in lock and a block, prepared for the obvious. Just as suspected, another Straven appeared in front of him, so it looked like this:

Straven>>>>O O O<< Jamie>>>>>>>>O

Jamie pulled back out of his lock and block, dodging the incoming slash from Straven 2 (middle). Now, with leg room open, he performed a backflip, putting his legs around the necks of Straven's 1 and 3, and closed his legs in order to clash their heads into the head of Straven 2. He landed on his bottom, and leapt to his feet slashing his scimitar around himself, cutting through the chest of one that had appeared behind him. But, it was replaced by yet another Straven. Jamie knew that he couldn't last much longer.

SLASH! Tahu fell to the ground, his chest now bearing a large wound similar to the one Jamie had just given Straven. He fell to his knees bleeding. "...this guy is impossible..."

Dust filled the already hard to breathe air, and Jamie was sweating madly as he searched for Straven. Or any Straven that is. He saw one of him and dashed over to him, but before he was there, he heard someone behind him shout "TELEOTHER CAMELOT!" In a flash of purple light, Jamie was teleported.

Tahu was bleeding madly and had been knocked unconscious. Straven charged forward to finish him off, but before he could... "TELEOTHER CAMELOT!" Tahu was gone just like Jamie.

"Who are you!?" Straven shouted at the intruder.

"Not for you to know." the man smiled, a smile that went perfectly with his robes. "ZAROS STRIKE!"

Rangerbane was surrounded. But as it turned out, it was a bad idea for Straven to be surrounding him in a complete circle. The Straven's raised their scimitars... "TELEOTHER CAMELOT!" THUNK! All four Stravens fell. The stranger faced the rest of the Stravens. Before they could multiply however.... "ZAROS STRIKE!"

Part 7: Camelot
Sir Lancelot strolled out of Camelot Castle for his evening stroll. The stars shimmered brightly as he stepped out of the front gate. He looked toward Seer's Village. It was pitch black in that direction. And, as he looked, a chill ran down his spine and spread to the rest of his body. Shivering, he looked up into the air.

"Perhaps I should go visit Brother Galahad." Sir Lancelot suggested to himself. "That chill I experienced seems not to be of natural causes. Evil is in the air... I must see what Brother Galahad has to say about that..." Lancelot began to walk toward Brother Galahad's house to the north of McGroubers Wood, but before he could, he was blinded by a flash of purple light.

A bloody body crashed onto Lancelot, pinning him to the ground. Forcing the body off him, he stood up only to have another purple flash crash him down again.

Jamie suddenly appeared somewhere outside. For some reason, it was already dark out. Odd, it had been bright daylight when they had gone inside the Phoenix Hideout. The Phoenix! They were still a threat! But, Jamie finally realized he was lying on someone. Jumping to his feet, he saw underneath him none other than the brave Sir Lancelot. "Sir Lancelot! My sincerest apologies..." Jamie apologized.

Sir Lancelot pushed himself to his feet. "It's fine young adventurer. But that sir over there, he is not fine."

"Tahu!" Jamie shouted. Tahu was unconscious and still bleeding from the wound on his chest. Jamie looked around for something to tend to his wounds with, surprised that Tahu was still alive after this.

Sir Lancelot spoke: "He needs help now. We must bring him into the castle."

"Castle..." Jamie said. He turned to see the high and mighty Camelot Castle, home of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Its towers rose to the sky, and the souls that lived within its walls were blessed by the holy Saradomin himself.

At that moment, another purple flash threw Sir Lancelot to the ground for the third time. It was Rangerbane. "Where are we?"

"Camelot... Tahu needs medical attention. We must bring him in!" Jamie ordered. After helping Sir Lancelot to his feet, the three began to bring Tahu into the castle. But, Tahu was nearing the light at the end of the tunnel. It wasn't much longer now.

Part 8: Strangerr
"Twinteeth, forward!"

A huge two-headed blue dragon snorted and slowly crawled forward. "Now, servants! Gather around the dinner wheel! It is time to decide who... 'prepares' dinner for Twinteeth."

The servants arrived at the Dragon Chamber, walking through the large metal gate knowing that they may never pass it again. The whole place was underground, and the illegal act of slavery was hidden by the natural walls. The only way in was by teleport, and a maze blocked the arrival place from the hideout. The only way out was also by teleport.

The Cult of the Unknown gathered at the overhead stands, waiting in anticipation to see which servants would be eaten this time. Except for one. This one entered the room by the gate wearing the same robes as the slaves, and held a long sheet of parchment.

On the far wall of the room stood a large wooden wheel, bearing the names of every slave. The one holding parchment fastened it over a name.

The leader of the Cult breathed out curses. "Not again..."

Strangerr turned from the wheel and pointed to a man in the slave crowd.”You! You are safe this time, leave as I will take your place in this trial!" The man muttered thanks and ran out the metal gate, leaving many other slaves in envy. The metal gate was closed by several Cult members, after the leader took his place in the stands above. The wheel was spun. The first of three names came up.

The servant assigned to spinning the wheel stood back and proclaimed: "Manvik!" A bearded slave in the crowd stood, knowing his days were soon at their end. Manvik was a stout Freminick, and pitied himself for being unable to fight back against his captors. He took his place against the wall farthest from Twinteeth.

The wheel was spun again. "Lorea!" A woman in her 40's stood and took her place at the wall. Her family had already been slaughtered, and she would rather join them than to continue being a slave.

The final name was spun... Everyone gasped. The spinner servant announced it. "Strangerr!"

The Cult Leader was furious. "Look what he got himself into now!!!"

Strangerr took his place at the wall. The spinner servant headed to behind Twin teeth to cut the chain, the gate was opened to let the rest of the slaves back into the hideout. Manvik seized the chance and dashed toward the open gate, sensing freedom. A cult member ran up with a knife and cut his arm. Manvik was quickly returned to his spot on the wall. The cult member came up to Lorea and cut her arm as well. He then approached Strangerr.

The chain cutter was startled when Twinteeth flinched. Twinteeth was fired up now that there was blood in the air. The cult member spoke to Strangerr. "This is stupid... come on, come out and we'll sacrifice the chain cutter instead..."

"Just cut my arm dammit Crash!" Strangerr swore. Crash obeyed.

Crash hurried out of the gate, which was closed just enough to let a person out. The chain cutter cut the chain holding Twinteeth back, and ten stood very still. Twinteeth crept forward, and the chaincutter made it out of the gate.

Strangerr saw Twinteeth approaching. "That’s right... keep coming..."

Twinteeth prepared to charge its prey. Strangerr just stood there, Lorea sighed with depression, and Manvik decided to be brave like all those in his clan. "This is where it ends. But I will die fighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRRRRRGHHHHHHH!" Manvik shouted. "Give me a weapon! ANY WEAPON! I'LL FIGHT TO THE BITTER END!"

The audience quickly decided that giving a weapon to the servant would be more entertaining. So someone tossed down a mithril battleaxe. Manvik swung it over his head madly, preparing for inevitable death.

Strangerr motioned for them to move to different sides of the room. The two of them knew how incredible Strangerr was in unarmed combat, even against someone with a weapon, so they obeyed. Twinteeth was about to charge Manvik when Strangerr motioned toward Lorea. Twinteeth charged at Lorea who closed her eyes, also ready for the inevitable death. Inevitable rang in many heads... Inevitable...

Bam! Lorea was gone, just like that. Many watched in awe as the mighty two headed dragon manifested her fresh corpse which was spewing gore everywhere tainting the earth with a red tinge that cause many to blow their cookies which included many various things such as last nights steak and potato feast that included a side of cabbage rolls which many also lost.

Twinteeth's blue faces were now just a red as they were blue. Twinteeth prepared to continue its gory onslaught, and focused on Manvik.

Manvik awaited his fate, holding his mithril battleaxe in two sweaty hands.

Part 9: Camelot Chaos
"AIR BLAST!" shouted Stip. The gust of air hit the air knife flipping it back toward Scar. Scar dropped his knife in failure. In turn, the air knife stopped in mid-air and dropped to the ground and vanished. Scar shot Stip a 'who cares' shrug.

"FIRE BLAST!" Stip shouted. Nothing happened. Stip was out of death runes!

"FIRE BOLT!" No chaos runes.

"Fire strike...?" Not even mind runes.

Stip ruffled in his pack for runes. Scar laughed at this. "Fool! You are unable to resist!" He held his Zamorak Staff high. "FLAMES OF ZAMORAK!" A large fireball was launched from his staff and hurtled toward Stip.

Stip found only blood and law runes. But he was unable to use the bloods, as his magic was not that great. But it was his only hope. An air attack would not stop the flames of Zamorak, so he must use a flame attack... "FIRE WAVE!" Two fire balls collided, Scar was sent flying toward Camelot, and Stip was terribly weakened, but not weakened enough to cast one last spell. "Camelot... Teleport!" In a purple flash, he was way on the other side of the explosion. He put his staff away, taking out his halberd, waiting for battle.

Scar crashed through the side of Camelot Castle. Stip dashed in, determined to retrieve the Zaros Amulet.

* * * * *
Jamie, Rangerbane, and Sir Lancelot dragged Tahu inside Camelot Castle and gathered sheets of parchment and wrapped his wounds in it. The pressure helped ease the bleeding, but it wasn't enough.

Sir Lancelot thought of something. "Brother Galahad is one of the holy monks now, perhaps... he could heal your friend?"

"That sounds like a good idea." Jamie said. Suddenly they heard a huge crash on the other side of the castle. Then someone barged through the door, holding a dragon halberd. It was none other than Stip.

"Stip?" asked Jamie.

"Hey!" Rangerbane shouted.

"Small world..." gasped Stip. "Look out... Scar..."

"Scar?" said Jamie. "I can thank him for helping you get in to help me!"

"No... he is and always was evil..." Stip took a breath. "And... what happened to Tahu?"

"Phoenix Gang. Straven. He multiplied... and someone came and saved us..."

"Ah, a heartwarming reunion. Unfortunately it must be cut short." Scar appeared in the room. He held his Zamorak Staff in one hand, and a poison dragon dagger in the other. "FLAMES OF ZAMORAK!" A large fireball hit Stip to the wall. Jamie moved forward, taking out his rune scimitar.

Scar readied his dagger to throw at Tahu. "Come any closer, and your friend dies for sure. I'm just surprised Straven didn't already kill you."

Jamie was forced to stop. Scar smiled and tossed his dagger at Stip, striking him in the stomach. Jamie moved forward again, but Scar took out a jade amulet and grabbed Stip's arm. Rubbing it, Scar and Stip disappeared in a purple flash, and Jamie's scimitar cut through only air.

Part 10: A Life on the Line
"Tahu and Stip... we have to do something. Scar... he's going to kill Stip." Jamie said in gloom. "But... we still have to focus on Tahu. Sir Lancelot, lead the way to Brother Galahad."

Lancelot led Jamie and Rangerbane, who were carrying Tahu along. Soon they were at Seer's Village, and saw the horror. A Seer lay dead, against a house. Beside the house lay fallen and charred trees, beside them a woodcutter burnt to a crisp. Several people began to climb down the ladder in the bank. "Is he gone?" they asked eachother.

Every where showed some sign of a huge explosion. The bottom half of a Zaros staff lay on the ground, while the top half lay on a man in purple robes.... the same robes that Stip wore. One held a whole Zaros Staff himself, but the other had no staff. Rangerbane racked his brain for something... the person saving them from Straven performed Zaros Strikes. He would have to ask about this later on...

Tahu began coughing like crazy, his bandages turning red with blood. There was not much time. "We will never reach Galahad's shack in time." Sir Lancelot said. Jamie looked to the side and saw mine carts stored inside an open building.

"Does Galahad, by any chance, live near the Coal Trucks?" he asked.

"Yes, right across the river. Why?"

Next thing they knew, Jamie and Tahu were rocketing down the tracks toward Galahad's shack. Rangerbane and Lancelot were right behind in another cart. Soon, a holy shack came in view. Brother Galahad was in the front, and was shocked to see a complete stranger show up with a bloody unconscious man. But then, he saw Lancelot and relaxed. "Brother Galahad!" Lancelot called. "This man is on the edge of life and death. You must heal him!"

"These wounds... it would take a dozen monks of the highest class in holiness to the great god Saradomin to heal this. But fortunately..." Galahad showed a ring that he wore on his right hand. It was made of silver, and had a diamond on it. "Behold! A ring of holiness! Grab hands now..." With a single rub, they all disappeared in a purple flash.

Jamie, Rangerbane, Sir Lancelot, Brother Galahad, and Tahu appeared in the Monastery in the north. Galahad dashed to nearby monks. "Gather! This man needs great help!"

But... by the time the monks had gathered... "He's not breathing... He's gone..."

"We can rebuild him." The head monk said. "We have the technology. All we need is a holy amulet crafted from the weapon that dealt this fatal blow."

"You can... bring him back?" Jamie and Rangerbane said in unison.

"Yes we can. But, you have to do it in 24 hours after he died. So... your friends life is now entirely on the line. If you fail, it is his life that will fail. And another thing... if you fail, he fails, the world fails. There us something you need to know... there is a prophecy..."

Later...

"Awfully sorry this will be thrust into your hands." Sir Lancelot apologized. "The prophecy will be told to you in sure time. But now you must embark on this perilous journey, to revive your friend. So, what say you?"

Jamie spoke his feelings. "Straven will pay..."

Then spoke Rangerbane.”When are we going? I'm hungry."

"These men need food! Prepare a feast!" Lancelot called.

After an hour wait, and another hour meal, Jamie and Rangerbane were ready to embark on their journey. Heading south, they arrived at Barbarian's Village. Heading past the rude town, Varrok came in sight. The walk had taken about an hour, and now about 18 hours remained. By the sounds of things, everything lay on the line.

Varrok was still deserted, still scarred from the battle of the deadly trio of the Cult. The General store lay half re-built, and bodies lay everywhere. Jamie kicked the door open to the Phoenix Lair. Down the ladder lay the room where Tahu's fatal blow had been dealt. No one was there... except for a man in Zaros robes laying on the ground bleeding. He held a Zaros Staff. "Hmm... is it possible... That someone may perform a Telekinetic Grab from miles away?" Rangerbane asked.

"I don't know... perhaps we could ask the head wizard Seridor about that later... wait a minute!" Jamie had figured something out. "Seridor is a master in codes! Which means..." Jamie took his coded sheet from his pocket. "We are on the brink of solving this mystery..."

"But first we must save Tahu," Rangerbane reminded him. "By the way... where is Straven. And another thing... this man."

Jamie and Rangerbane knelt by the man's side. They managed to wake him up by slapping his face. "Hello? Are you ok?"

"I am dieing... Straven... too powerful... I am Topsummoner... I am the one who saved your lives by teleporting you to Camelot... Leave this place..." Topsummoner said. "Straven will get you... you can not afford to face him again... Akk..." Topsummoner groaned, and went through the light at the end of the tunnel.

Rangerbane opened the next door. Jamie went inside, followed by his friend. Straven, was in their, holding his dragon scimitar in one hands, a mug of Arsganian Ale in the other. "You..." He got up and was about to multiply, when Jamie delivered him a swift kick in the groin. "Ahhhhk..." But, as the true Straven fell to the ground in pain, two more appeared. It was too late... Straven was in a dangerous state. It was time to make a break for it. Jamie dashed in and grabbed the scimitar.

"Now Rangerbane!" Rangerbane shot a volley of arrows that struck both Stravens. Unfortunately, there were four more Straven's now. Jamie managed a cartwheel through the Straven's, and the duo dashed out of the room, out of the lair, into Varrok. "Bank quickly!" Straven's began to appear everywhere in the streets. An army of Straven were coming... all that remained was a dash to the bank. Jamie and Rangerbane drew their scimitars... Jamie using Straven's. Slashing through the Straven Sea, they arrived at the bank. Jamie dashed into his vault, coming out with three air runes, a law rune, and a water rune. Also... he held a vial of water.

"I don't know why... but instinct made me grab the vial too..." The Straven's arrived. An unarmed one at the front, was the obvious the original.

"You... Give me the sword... now..." Straven breathed out.

Instinct took Jamie over. And memory. A fateful day, before Varrok was torched came back...

Varrok Square. Rangerbane was acting weirdly. Stip poured water down Rangerbane's throat. Rangerbane returned to normal. Mind control device...

Jamie threw the vial at Straven's face. The vial smashed on his face, sending water and glass everywhere. Some water made it down Straven's throat. Before the results could be seen by our hero's... "FALADOR TELEPORT!" In a flash of purple light, they were gone.

Part 11: Dwarves and Goblins and Ice, oh my!
Manvik held the battleaxe steady. This was it... his final hour. His trials to become a Fremnick would not be for naught. He would use them to stay live as long as possible. Never stop fighting till the end. He looked over at Strangerr. Strangerr had a smile on his face. He completely enjoyed this even though he was in the danger as well. But the dragon listened to him. He was in here for his own enjoyment, that's why he was smiling.

Strangerr heard the gates open. He glanced over. Scar was there, dragging someone; they were awake, but paralyzed. In Scar's hand... could it be...? "Zaros's amulet... He's done it."

"I've come with Zaros's amulet!" he announced. "And this is Zaros's minion, the one that let's Zaros inhabit him. He is to be fed to Twinteeth!" Scar dropped Stip there, taking his halberd and staff. Stip just lay there... paralyzed from the poison. Twinteeth smelled more blood coming from Stip, and headed toward him. Manvik would survive a bit longer...

* * * *
Jamie and Rangerbane appeared in Falador. People were bustling about, unaware of the danger that was dawning. Tahu was dead, and it was almost too late to bring him back. 17 hours... Would fate be cruel enough? “Ok,” said Jamie, “we have the scimitar. Now what?”

“We need great smiths to smelt such a metal. Perhaps we should try the dwarves?” suggested Rangerbane.

“Of course! Dwarves are master smiths!” exclaimed Jamie with glee.

The northern exit of Falador was extravagant. A large wooden gate that scraped the very heavens themselves was the way through the exit, the rest covered by stone walls that shone a brilliant golden colour, archers on top. Guards patrolled the exit, keeping constant watch on all who passed through. In front were spikes that kept charges at bay, the path to Doric the dwarven smith’s house, and the path to the mountain known as Ice Mountain in which was the famous Dwarven Mines. Behind Doric’s shack lay Goblin Village, which was full of the little green guys.

Jamie and Rangerbane passed through the gate, ignoring the guard staring at them. “Let’s try Doric’s shack first,” suggested Rangerbane.

* * * * *
Sarkus withdrew various elemental runes, along with many items which he had no need for. This left him with about two rows filled in his bank vault. He then threw everything he withdrew in the air and held his unique staff into the air. “High Alchemy!” Everything (except for a few runes that fell to the ground) exploded into a great ball of green energy, which transformed into coins that fell into his waiting sack.

Sarkus had collected about 100k this time. Depositing 40k, he dumped the rest into the chest on the counter that read “For the ever struggle against Jangercancasopia, please donate”.

Then, he raised the remaining runes to his staff of Armadyl as an offering. Apparently, Armadyl accepted this since the runes disintegrated into green powder that blew away (even though he was inside). Through this whole process, everyone in the bank stared. Sarkus didn’t enjoy the attention, except from a certain bank woman.

* * * * *
Knock, Knock, Knock! Rangerbane pounded on Doric’s door. “Settle down Rangerbane!” shouted Jamie. The door opened.

Doric, a dwarven smith known by many stood there, sweating. “Ello...”

“Ah, busy at work Doric I see?” said Jamie.

“Ugh? I mean... yes. Of course. That’s right... working.”

“Can you help us?” said Rangerbane. Jamie raised the dragon scimitar. Rangerbane continued. “We need to make a holy symbol out of this.”

“Um...” He looked over his shoulder into the room. “Sure... come in... and while your at it close the do- RUN! GOBLIN AMBUSH!”

And the spears flew. Goblins appeared on the roof of Doric’s shack, on the surrounding hills and cliffs, tossing spears. All but two missed. One dug into the arm of Jamie. The other, through the heart of Rangerbane. He dropped to the ground, dead.

“No!” Jamie looked up at the cliffs. A figure stood at the front. He wore mystical robes covered in frost. He had shocking whitish blue hair, and had a long staff curved at the end, a ice crystal on the tip of the curve.

“Hello, Jamie. I am the Frost Keeper. I am here for you. I am here to guide you. I am here to lead you to the destiny that was foretold of you, in the prophecies. At the moment you are nigh to achieve your goal, I will snatch everything from you. The man beside you. The one laying in the Monastery. The one who is surrounded by your arch-enemies. And the one that you do not know of, yet will be important in every way the others are.”

“What? How can you snatch Rangerbane and Tahu away at that moment if they are dead right now?” Jamie questioned.

“Cold is a simple thing right? Death is cold. Death is complex. Storms are cold. Storms are complex. So why is Cold simple?”

“That doesn’t make sense.”

“Oh doesn’t it? You’re right,” the Frost Keeper said, “it doesn’t. TELEOTHER ICE MOUNTAIN!” Jamie disappeared in a flash of purplish blue.

Part 12: Was it all worth it?
Jamie stood on Ice Mountain. Scar stood before him. “Never did I think it would end this way. You, staring me down atop a forbidding wasteland. Scar... you and the cult win.” Jamie fell to his knees.

“You will feel nothing but a fearsome inferno melting you down to nothing.” Scar smirked, holding his staff of Zamorak forward.

“I look forward.” Jamie said solemnly. “And now, with so many deaths, I think... was it all worth it? Every comrade I ever had on my journey’s are dead. Bustergod, Tahu, Rangerbane, and probably Stip. And now, I will fall to end the only resistance the world has against the ever powerful and growing cult of the unknown.”

“Inspiring speech. You have duped me long enough. Trollweiss mountain... you were all over me, crushing me to nothing. But I have survived, and I am going to eliminate you here and now.” Scar readied his staff.

“What? I never went to Trollweiss mountain before...”

“FLAMES OF ZAMOR-!”

A man in a black coat knocked Scar over. “I have.” He said. He grabbed Scar’s sack of runes and tossed them to another man in a coat. “Get away. He will kill you.” The two ran off.

Scar got up. “You...” He held his staff in one hand. Groaning, he dropped it and took his dagger out. Jamie rushed at him, and swung Straven’s scimitar. Scar grabbed it, and swung it and Jamie and tossed him to the ground. “FOOL!”

Jamie sat there, freezing. Scar was going to kill him. But he still had tried. Was it really over? Heck no! A man in a green cloak stood behind Scar. He rose a staff. “Armadyl’s Love!” A green blast of light shot in a beam at Scar, knocking him to the ground. He picked Jamie up. “It isn’t safe here. We must go back in time an hour.”

“What?”

“TIMEPORT! One hour!”

When Jamie opened his eyes, he could still see what he saw seconds before. With one change. Scar was gone. “What is happening! Who are you!”

“I am Sarkus.” The man replied. “I have been sent here to save you by... yourself and myself. Time travel is confusing. And, here is what is happening. Scry Rangerbane!”

Jamie’s vision turned to a vision the Phoenix gang hideout, him and Rangerbane entering to find Topsummoner on the ground. “Welcome, to your life of time travel. It will be your life for the next a day ago. That’s a joke it is....”

“Wait... hey I can save Rangerbane. Let’s crush some goblins!” Jamie reared for the challenge.

“I have seen you try. You will find a group of goblins, and start slaughtering them, and the Frost Keeper will teleport you to a time which is perfect for him to strike you down. And, I see another future. You save Tahu, and you and he save Rangerbane at the cost of your life. But, only future you, which is the you you are, will perish, and past you, the one battling Straven, will survive.”

“Ok then... wait, this isn’t enough time. Right now I probably am about to teleport to Falador.” Jamie said.

“Ah, but you don’t know that there are two ways of teleporting. People cannot control which one they use. Their energy decides. One way is taking little energy to teleport, but take about half or more of the time it would take to walk. The other uses much energy, and teleports instantly. Your mind decided for you to take the long way.” Sarkus lectured.

“How do you know so much?”

“Because I hold the wisdom and power of the great fallen god, Armadyl. She gives me the ability to craft the rare time rune. This allows me to travel through time with a simple spell. Those runes also hold the ability to see the future without traveling there. Now, go to Doric. He can craft the holy amulet you desire.”

“Can’t you just timeport to when we were fighting Straven and save Tahu?”

“That would change time so that we had never met, and I could not have helped you save Rangerbane.”

“Oh... ok.”

All confused with what had happened to physics, Jamie headed for Doric’s shack. Sarkus timeported to another time. Where, or should I say when, was unknown.

Part 13: Sarkus in the Past and Stip in the Present
Back in the time where Sarkus was High Alchemizing his items....

Sarkus exited Draynor bank, holding his Farming Equipment. Buying a stack of cabbage (ugh!) seeds, and putting them in his seed satchel, he headed for the nearest farm. As he approached the not so elegant border between Asgarnia and Misthalin, in a flash of blue, before him appeared... himself. “What... Who are you?” Sarkus (past) asked. “Are you a long lost twin... a clone? Or... an impostor!?!"

“I am simply... you. Now here is what you need to do, to ensure the safety of the men that will save the world. You must go to-“ Sarkus (future) was then rudely interrupted.

“How can I trust you?” inquired Sarkus (p).

“Believe me. You will again be standing here very soon. And then you will know what I mean. Now, go to Ice Mountain and there you will find two men... (to see what Sarkus told Sarkus, take a look at Sarkus’s actions in part 12)

“...and you will then timeport to this very spot and tell yourself what I just told me... you. This makes me all confused....” Sarkus (f) said. Sarkus (p) was about to question, when Sarkus (f) interrupted. “I know your question, as I myself was going to ask it. And... I cannot answer. I myself know little of if he is the chosen one. Now go...” Sarkus (f) ran into the distance. Sarkus (p) glanced over at the looming Ice Mountain.

Sarkus (p(we will just call him Sarkus now)) ran through the path that connects Draynor and Barbarians Village, and closer to the obvious repetition of part 12.

* * * * *
Stip could move. He looked up at the dragon crawling toward him. Two heads and all. Where was he? A glance to his side caught glimpse of none other than Strangerr, arm bleeding. Heading through the gate at the exit walked none other than Scar... holding Stip’s staff, halberd, and the Zaros Amulet. Stip also saw a Fremenick wielding a mithril battleaxe. A plan formulated in his mind. He picked up a handful of dirt in each hand. He stood up.

Twinteeth growled and stood, ready to charge. But Stip charged first. He threw the dirt in both sets of Twinteeth’s eyes, blinding it. Stip hopped onto Twinteeth’s right head and used his robes to disappear. Taking from his waist his trusty pair of rune daggers for emergencies, he ran onto the dragon’s back, and stared at the crowd in the stadium stands above him. He was about to stab his daggers into the heads of Twinteeth, when the dragon shot its tail inward at Stip.

The spike on the end of tail would have impaled Stip if he hadn’t jumped backwards. He lost balance and grasped Twinteeth’s tail by stabbing it with his daggers. Big mistake. In pain, the dragon flailed its tail in the air, and Stip accidentally lost grip of one of the daggers. Holding on with one hand, the dagger he held came loose from the tail and it flew across the room toward Manvik. And it was taking Stip with it.

Stip collided with Manvik, holding one dagger. Manvik was knocked out, his battleaxe beside him. Stip stood up and grabbed the battleaxe, sticking his dagger back.

Twinteeth turned to see Manvik helpless. A free meal.

Stip dashed toward the gate. Scar turned around to begin to close the gate. What did he see? Stip dashing at him clutching a mithril battleaxe. His jaw and Stip’s items he held fell to the ground. He tried to push the door closed.

When about a foot room was left, Stip tossed his battleaxe. The door closed more... the battleaxe caught and wedged the opening. Stip took out his dagger and stabbed it through the opening, where Scar avoided it by jumping back.

Stip removed the battle axe and charged through the door. Returning his dagger to his belt, he held his battleaxe and faced Scar, the man who represented something resembling the darkness within his own heart.

His nemesis. His enemy. His equal.

Why was my story (The Dragon Threat Book 2: The Autumn Revenge) deleted? Yeesh.

There was a moderating mix-up and many topics were accidentally pruned in the Literary Society and other forums. Hopefully it won't happen again...

I don't have time to read 16 chapters now, but hopefully I'll find time later on in the next few days. :)

Wait, 16? Huh? Oh damn, it got cut off.... :| Alright, I'll edit into this post.

EDIT: Had to edit 15 into here too.
Part 14: Leader of the Cult
Stip swung the battleaxe, but Scar easily dodged, and took out his Staff of Zamorak to find that Stip had picked up his halberd, and held the battleaxe in the other hand. He tossed it at Scar who avoided again. Scar shot flames of Zamorak, but Stip avoided it by grabbing Scar’s staff and redirecting it. It hit the gate, sending it off the hinges. Twinteeth looked at Stip, now available to him to eat. But, not taking chances, the dragon headed for Manvik.

Scar was stunned at Stip’s sudden new ability and power, that he stepped back shaking his head. He put away his staff. Stip took this time to pick up his staff and amulet. Unfortunately, Scar knew now and headed down a passageway, into the maze.

Strangerr waited until Twinteeth was done devouring Manvik. He then approached the dragon and sat on his back. He took out a staff of Zamorak and aimed at the roof. “Flames of Zamorak!” The spell blew a huge hole in the roof. Twinteeth took off. “Listen to me all. I am your new master. I have the dragon, the creature needed for you to be successful.”

“No!” The leader of the cult shouted. “Crash! Stop him!”

“I hate being the guy who does all this stuff...” he mumbled. He jumped from the stands onto Twinteeth and faced Strangerr. “You don’t know what you’re doing.” Crash took out twin Rune short swords.

“Please.” Strangerr smirked, pulling out his dragon long sword. Strangerr blocked a strike from both swords with his one, and kicked him backwards. “Twinteeth, climb.” Stranger stood on one of Twinteeth’s spikes. Crash held on to another.

Pulling himself onto a spike as Twinteeth became vertical, Crash began to reason with Strangerr. “Why are you doing this?”

“The Frost Keeper. To stop him from doing what I am meant to do. To make sure he doesn’t interfere.”

Crash thought about this for a minute, during which time Strangerr stabbed his sword through Crash’s heart. Crash fell off Twinteeth, down below where Twinteeth caught him with its tail and shot him up to the mouths where he was eaten whole.

Before Strangerr and his dragon could make it out, Twinteeth coughed up a skull, which fell onto the second in command in the cult, cracking his skull. Strangerr went from third to second. The leader of the cult felt anxious, looking up at his dragon flying away. “I will restore the order or my name isn’t Maixious.”

* * * * *
Jamie knew that he couldn’t go to Doric’s shack. The goblins were likely waiting in ambush by now. So instead he embarked down Ice Mountain toward a certain cliff. It was very cold up there. Jamie was glad there was a way for him save his friends. Was it luck? If so, Jamie was nervous that his luck may eventually run out.

A storm was passing overhead in the autumn sky. Snow was covering the already white Ice Mountain, and Jamie was sure Falador was being poured on by rain. Thunder roared, and lightning flashed as Jamie approached the Dwarven encampment. There was no dwarves in sight. But, there was a man in sight. Around his neck he wore a Jade Amulet. He was in black robes. “Who are you?” asked Jamie.

“I am Maixious. The leader of the Cult of the Unknown.” The man said.

Jamie drew Straven’s scimitar.

“I come not to quarrel but make an offer with you. Strangerr has already won.” Maixious said.

“What do you mean by that?” Jamie inquired.

“He has complete control over the blue dragon Twinteeth.”

“Twinteeth?”

“Yes. A two-headed blue dragon we found resting in a cavern. Somehow Strangerr is able to push Twinteeth to his will. That is how we came to hold Twinteeth in our captivity. Now, Strangerr is headed to Trollweiss mountain. With Twinteeth’s help, he will kill the Frost Keeper, the current watcher over the blade Timebender.”

“Timebender? What are you getting at?” Jamie was getting suspicious. The leader of the cult of the unknown, Jamie’s sworn enemies was meeting with him to tell him about a sword called Timebender?

“Yes, the Timebender. It is a mystic sword that can fix mistakes in time travel and allow one to perform time travel. Strangerr will want it because of those who have performed deeds in time travel that were un-beneficial to him. Like when I went back in time to stop him from finding the tomb of... never mind. Anyways, you must stop him. He will use Timebender against you. Like maybe he will prevent you from trying to save your friend Tahu? Straven was a fool. We gave him direct orders not to harm you or your friends.”

“What? You were...”

“Protecting you. We are not your enemies. Strangerr has somehow been able to control dragons his whole life. We are his puppets. But no longer. He has discarded us.” Maixious had a firm, serious look on his face. “Do you yet know the prophecy?”

“No, but after I save Tahu the monks at the Monastery will tell me.”
“The cult was created to protect who we believe are essential to the prophecy. Strangerr believes the prophecy will be his downfall. That is why he strives to kill all of you. He controlled us. A few actually fell completely into his spell. Under his command till the end of time. Scar is one of those people. Now go. The dwarves within this mine will make the amulet.”

“Wait... am I to stop Strangerr from obtaining Timebender?”

“Yes.”

“Then... I may at sometime be forced to draw it. My time travel doings will be undone. The entire cult will be at Strangerr’s side once more.”

“Yes we will. I completely understand if you have to slay me. Well, I won’t seem to then, but I may actually be essential to Strangerr if he is to control the cult.”

“Well... thank you for telling me about this. I may be able to stop him.” Jamie told Maixious confidently. He could hardly believe not too long ago he had nearly given up.

“The world’s fate may rest on a few shoulders. Including yours. But, little does Strangerr know it was his actions that cause you and your friends to meet. His own doing will be his downfall.” Maixious knew what he had done. He had doomed the cult to be bound once more in servitude to Strangerr. He had made them commit slavery! He would die for this. If the prophecy was true...

Part 15: The Caves
Jamie entered the Dwarven Mines alone. Every dwarf he asked said they couldn’t smelt such a metal. Even when he told them it was a matter of life and death. He sat by the pickaxe and general stores. He noticed a dwarf by a mine-cart. He hadn’t asked this one yet. “Hello there?”

“Yes? Watcha want?”

“Can you smelt this scimitar into a holy amulet?” Jamie asked, hoping for a reply which would save his friend’s life.

“Sorry, I just run the Mine-cart I’m not too good at that stuff.”

“Aw... wait a second. Where does the mine-cart go?”

“Keldagrim, Dwarven capital of the world.”

Jamie was lightened up. “Can I go there?”

“You need to pay a fee.”

“Ok.” Jamie stuck his hand into his pocket and came up with 300 gold. “How much for a ticket?”

“200gp.” Jamie handed over 200gp and got his ticket.

“One second.” Jamie ran over to the General Store and bought a holy amulet mold.

“That’ll be 2gp.” Jamie handed over all 100 of his gold.

“Keep the change.” Jamie ran over to the mine-cart and hopped in, leaving the shopkeeper to wonder why he had got 98 extra coins.

*****
Back in the Cult Hideout, Maixious received bitter news about Dwarves digging a tunnel that led to the entrance to their maze that protected them from intruders. “Not only will they discover us, they will run into Scar. He’s in the maze. He will slaughter them, and the dwarves will blame us. And now we are connected to a one-way tunnel to Keldagrim.”

“No master, there are a few branches off the tunnel. Apparently... they built that tunnel looking for something.” The scout told his master.

“Timebender. The blade that few know about, but those who do search for it day and night. They will not find it here. It lays within a cave atop a mountain. Not below the ground.” Maixious said knowingly. He looked into the maze. Scar was still here. That was a problem.

*****

The mine-cart crashed. Right there, in the middle of the tunnel. The cart’s light went out, leaving Jamie and the dwarf alone in the darkness. Suddenly a flame burst out. Jamie shouted in shock, but it was only the dwarf lighting a torch. There was three tunnels. One went back to where they came, one went the way they were going, along the side-by-side tracks, and one went further into the caves.

“C’mon human,” said the dwarf, heading down the tunnel leading into the cave. “This is a recently dug tunnel, and we can get to Keldagrim with it faster than following the tracks.” The dwarf led Jamie away from the tracks, deep into the cave.

For what seemed like hours Jamie and the dwarf went through the caves. Jamie thought he heard light footsteps nearby. “What was that?” he asked the dwarf.

“Nuthin, probably the miners. As I told you this path is relatively new.”

The paths twisted, and they came to a few crossroads, but the dwarf knew where he was going, and led them down the proper path. Jamie heard footsteps again, then a growl. He shook it out of his head, knowing the footsteps were probably the miners and the growl... was his imagination. Then, he heard a growl again. Louder.

“I’m hearing things...” Jamie told himself aloud. Suddenly, a gray figure on all fours jumped out into sight. Jamie could not make it out before the creature tackled him. It was a wolf. It put slimy fangs to his neck. Suddenly the lighting changed. The dwarf had dropped the torch.

A moment later, the wolf went flying off Jamie. Jamie grabbed the torch and held it. The dwarf came into view, holding a black warhammer. The wolf stepped closer to him, and he whacked it back with the hammer. It tackled him, making his warhammer go flying. Jamie dropped the torch and ducked. He scrambled for the torch.

As he crawled over to the torch, he heard a dragging sound. Raising the torch, he had only enough time to see the dwarf being dragged into the darkness. Jamie ran after him to no avail. He saw him nowhere. Jamie had lost his guide, and therefore, was lost within the caves.

*****
Stip looked around him. Four directions. His only chance to get back to the surface was Scar. He took his runes. Stip had on him his smoke staff, useless due to lack of runes, his halberd, one rune dagger, the Zaros Amulet, and his robes.

“Stip...”

Stip had heard this voice before, coming within his mind. Zaros.

“Come to Varrok. I lie in wait within the museum.”

“Master... I am trapped within a maze. Do you know of the way to freedom?”
“Scar is not your only chance of escape. If you reach the end of the maze, you will reach a cave leading to Keldagrim, dwarven capital. Find the exit.”

“Will do master... for the glory of Zaros... and cheese.” Cheese was something Stip did not have on him either. Stip had hidden his cheese in his rune sack.

He chose a pathway, and continued deeper within the maze. Scar was somewhere in here. Stip knew he would have to avoid him. Scar did have the advantage, seeing as Stip could not use magic.

Chapter 16: Lost
Sarkus sat in his house, waiting. His other self must had accomplished the task of saving Jamie by now. Sarkus still had one question. Why did Arymadyl want him to protect him. He knew the god had no chance of knowing of the prophecy, as it was made after Arymadyl fell to Zaros. So that couldn’t be right.

Another Sarkus enerted the door. We will call him Sarkus2, and the other Sarkus1. Sarukus1 smiled. “I know already of what you will ask. I assume Arymadyl contacted you on the way to Ice Mountain?”

“Yes.” Said Sarkus2.

“Perfect. Now I must go... The task you have been told of is my task as of now. It will become your task soon enough. Forever more, infinite of us going through the task. Over and over. Now sit, and wait.”

Sarkus1 stood up played his magic harp and appeared in Rellaka. He looked over to see the Trollweiss mountain, standing tall. Keldagrim was his next location.
*****
Jamie wandered through the caves. Every so often he would come to crossroads, and guessed his path. He was lost in a terrible labrynth. No way out.

He wandered for what seemed like hours. Tahu's time was ticking, and he was here, lost. And if another wolf came, he would have to fight it off again. It would'nt be too hard, but it would still be difficult. Speak of the devil.

Jamie heard growling behind him. Drawing a scimetar, he turned to see not one, but three wolves. He was tackled, and his torch went flying. Jamie pushed wolf off him, and slashed it. It whimpered into the darkness. Jamie drew another scimetar, which ones he held, he didn't care. He started to hear growling coming from all sides. There were more of them. Jamie heard footsteps behind him. He turned and slashed. He struck air. This was ridiculous, and bad. He couldn't see his foes. And he was outnumbered. And he was trapped. And... well that was about it.

Jamie did the one, brave, bold, heroic thing he could do at that moment. He ran. Where he was going, he didn't care. He needed out, and out he would go, no matter what!

*****
Stip stepped forward. Scar stood before him, about five meters away. "Zaros says you are to be eliminated. However, I may spare you if you kindly step aside."

Scar, although he looked worried, grinned. "You have changed. Zaros is influencing you. You always appeared to be a friendly but fierce person. Now the friendlyness is fading."

"Quiet. Now move! Stip held his halberd toward Scar."

"Ha. Even if you are becoming like Zaros each day, as I become more like Zamorak, you must remember who won when the two fought." Scar drew a schythe. He stood, staring at Stip. He didn't show it, but he was worried. Yes, worried.

Stip grinned. He pulled his hood up, concealing his face in shadow.

*****
Jamie woke up. Where was he? He stood up. Sarkus stood over him, holding his staff. "Good, you're up. Now, go! Take the first left and then go down the first lit tunnel you find."

"What's happening?"

"The wolf pack is closing in. They look starved. I sure hope they don't find the tunnel to Keldagrim... Now go! I'll hold them off!"

"Thanks!" Jamie stood up. He ran, as fast as he could. He took a left and came into a lighted area. Not a tunnel, so this wasn't the way he should go. But... he stared into a labrinth. This... where did it lead? It wasn't of concern however. He needed to hurry. He looked over and saw a lighted tunnel. Dwarves were mining in it. This must be the way to Keldagrim. As he stepped into the tunnel, he wondered if Sarkus was ok.

Sarkus whacked a wolf back with his staff, and blasted back another. But, there was simply too many. However... he could try... Yes he would. "Rain of Arymadyl! A wolf ran at Sarkus to be struck from nowhere by a blast of energy, much like the one created by the Arymadyl's Love spell. Every wolf that ran at Sarkus was blasted. But, Sarkus was being drained of energy. Luckily the amulet around his neck gave him infinite cosmic, nature, and law runes. So, it provided some energy. But, still tons of energy was being drained from Sarkus.

He would not be able to hold this up much longer. The wolves were relentless. They were white wolves. Powerful things they were, as each one blasted back came back for more. A figure stepped forward, out of the darkness. He spoke. "In case you don't know, I am the Frost Keeper."

The wolves stopped their charge. Just in time, as Sarkus fell down exhausted. He looked up. "The guardian of the blade Timebender."

"Indeed. I have been inducting research into the phrophecy. You seem of liable importance. As you know, one must draw the blade, but to do so, he will need help. Thus, eliminating any potential 'help', will protect it. You see... when the blade is drawn, the guardian must perish."

"You think I have a part in the phrophecy? Bah!"

"BAH?" The Frost Keeper drew his staff, holding it toward Sarkus. "Take a blow from my power then tell me bah!"

"A solemn melody from my harp I will play. To your honor."

"What? What trickery is this? You bah in my face then offer me a song!"

"I insist." He took out a harp.

"Well..." The FK looked flattered, but quickly realized. He was being tricked. "What?!? Nooo! ICE BLITZ!!!" A magic blast of ice came hurtling toward Sarkus as he began to play his harp.

"Rellaka Teleport!" A flash of light filled the cave as the ice attack hit. The Frost Keeper looked into the mist as it cleared.

Part 17: Hallucination Station
Jamie opened his eyes. How long had he been out. And speaking of which, why was he out?

He sat up, and looked around. It was a cell. He stood up. The gate was open. He stepped into the darkness. What was this place?

He looked into the next room to see... himself. No.. that wasn't himself. It was Strangerr. He was looking into the darkness.

"What lies beyond the mind? What lies beyond the barriers of time?" He turned and faced Jamie.

"What are you doing here? Where is here?"

Strangerr smiled. "You have left the cell... the barrier... the jail that imprisioned you within one time. By traveling through time, you have been opened."

"I didn't choose to go back in time. Sarkus brought me."

"Ah, but you have chosen to go. You see... You have done so many times, losing control many times and falling into an abyss."

"What are you getting at?"

"You see, time travel does something to a person. It makes them eventually get obsessed and keep doing so until they get stuck. They find themself in a cell, and open the door..." Suddenly, Strangerr dissapeared. The world around Jamie dissapeared.

Then the city of Keldagrim appeared. Jamie woke up in a bed. He looked around. A dwarf walked up to him. "Who are you?"

"I'm Wark. I work the night shift at the Keldagrim pub. You walked in, and started asking about dwarven smithys. Then I offered you a pint of beer."

"Let me guess... I accepted."

"Yep." Wart said. "You drank it up, and asked for another. And another. And soon, you were as drunk as a door, and kept going. Then, you passed out and I took you to my house."

"Well... thank you." Jamie felt relieved. That dream he had must had been a hallucination that was caused by the beer. But... what Strangerr said...

Strangerr had said that he had travelled through time many times before. What could that mean? Jamie had only travelled once.

He shook off the thought. He felt sick. Jamie stumbled into the city. He saw a patch of hops. Farming patch, down here? But, he suddenly had a craving for something. Something that had to do with those hops...

He took a few more steps, and a drunken dwarf appeared. "Ello, mate!"

"Um... hey?" Jamie said politely.

"Have a beer and kebab, on me!"

Jamie took the beer and kebab from the dwarf, thanked him, and began munching the kebab. When the dwarf was out of sight, Jamie threw the kebab to the ground and gulped down the beer. He now realized what was wrong. He was addicted. He hiccupped and collapsed.

"You know... I know more than you." a familer voice said. Jamie looked at his nemisis. And fell back into darkness, passing out completely.

Part 18: Mind Connections
Jamie heard a voice in his head. It called out to him, echoing. "Ta... Anger... Ip... Arku... Anyone..."

Jamie spoke. "Who is that?"

"I... forget... all I remember is the names... those names... I can't fully remember them....I'm a stranger to myself..."

"A stranger... well... how can I hear you?"

"I don't know... but I see people around me. In cloaks. They speak of a phrophecy... The fools..."

"Do you remember anything other than those names?"

"No... I'm a stranger to myself, I told you. Maybe... that is my name. Strangerr...."

"What... No!"

"A sword... a time-traveling sword. I remember that too... Timebender... Trollweiss mountain... I must go there...."

"You don't know what you are doing..."

"These people are easily bent to my will. I will remember that... Now... I see a vision of a place... Someone that looks very much like me is there... Hm... The phrophecy... this phrophecy they speak of... a slayer of many dragons, Crandor it begun... I will find this Crandor, and direct him to it. He must be the one in the phrophecy, not me. And anyway... why am I telling you this?"

Jamie woke with a start. Strangerr... He had contacted him. But how... and why? It seemed like he was in a past time. And it was all setup. To this point it was set up. Strangerr started it all. Why?

Jamie looked ahead. The entrance to the Blast Furnace. He stepped downstairs and looked at people working the furnace with the permission of the operator. Jamie saw someone putting ore on a conveyer. "Maybe..."

He ran up the ramp and knocked the person over. He put the dragon scimmy on the conveyer. He ran to the end of the line and placed the soft metal into the holy amulet mould. It began to cool...

"Help!" Jamie turned to see the person he had knocked over. They were above winding gears, about to fall. "Stop the machine!"

On cue, everyone stopped what they were doing. The sudden stop burst a pipe wide open. "Watch out! It's going to blow!"

"Arymadyl's Shield!!!" Someone ran up to the broken pipe and began to fix it, when a colour changing shield appeared around him. "What the..." Suddenly the pipe blew up. And he remained unharmed. Suddenly, pipes all over the furnace bursted. The combanation of the dragon metal and the sudden stop had been too much. Shields formed around everyone. Sarkus was there! But, he collasped, being the only one without a shield.

The furnace blew, as a dwarf carrying ores walked down the stairs.

A dwarf walked by the Blast Furnace building, and got knocked over by a dwarf and his bag of ore.

The furnace had exploded. Jamie looked up as it did. Someone was in front of Sarkus... Brother Gallahad! A magic shield was between him and the explosion, saving Sarkus. But at what cost...

The explosion stopped. The furnace was destroyed. The shields around everyone dissapeared. Gallahad fell down, lying next to Sarkus. Sarkus stood, and began to shake Gallahad.

Gallahad looked up, and Jamie ran over to him. "The phrophecy... it was vital the two of you survive... I had to put every ounce of my being into that shield, and energy to keep Sarkus up. It wasn't enough... I had to sell my existence to the gods." Gallahad began to fade away.

"Wha... whats happening!" Jamie shouted. Gallahad held out his hand. A silver ring with a diamond.

"Take it... a ring of holyness. It will bring you to the Monastary in time to save your friend." Jamie took the ring.

Galahad was transparent. "The monks will tell you the phrophecy..."

Sarkus looked at Galahad. "Thank you. I will insure he is instructed in knowledge of the phrophecy."

"Thank you..." Jamie choaked out. He had just given his life to save the only person that could save everyone in the room.

The dwarf engineer stood behind Jamie, too stunned to speak. "You... dest...destr..."

Galahad dissapeared completeley. "Farewell..."

"No..."

"You destroy.... destroyed my unique, worth millions of gold pieces Blast Furnace!"

"Time to split!" Jamie grabbed the stunned Sarkus and rubbed the ring.

* * * * *

“Of course! Dwarves are master smiths!” exclaimed Jamie with glee....

Part 19: Unknown Motives
"They're back!" a voice shouted.

The purple light around Jamie faded. He was in the monastary. The group of monks stood there, along with Sir Lancelot. "Jamie! Quickly, the holy amulet!" Lancelot shouted.

Sarkus looked up at Jamie. "The time has come."

Jamie looked over to the corner, where Tahu's lifeless body lay. He walked up to it, shining holy dragon amulet in hand. As he walked, energy began to form around the amulet. "What's happening?"

"Nothing, just the godlike energy within the amulet meeting with the life deep within Tahu. It is normal, and this phonomenon shows the amulet is made proper." the head monk said.

Jamie nodded headed closer. It was getting hard to move, making Jamie feel like he was trudging through snow. Red bolts shot from the amulet, causing Jamie to drop it, but he quickly caught the string. Tahu's body began to glow as well.

* * * * *
Straven felt the vial smash against his face. "Aagh! Water splashed his face, some going down his throat, and glass stuck into his face, piercing one of his eyes, goughing out blood and cutting out his vision. "AHHHHHH!" He fell to his knees, hands clutched to his face, blood trickling down onto the bank floor. He felt something in his head shock out, causing his leg to kick forward. Instantly, his clones faded.

"Scar!"

Scar entered the door. "Yes?"

"What... happened?"

"Our... 'technology' utilizing electricty can easily be shorted out by swallowed water. For some reason, any other liquid seems to not affect it. It is a bug shared in all of our technology so far, but Strangerr's devoted followers are working it out, along with creating new items. Soon we will distribute the one's 'helpful' to the public, along with hidden mind control bugs. We will call them... 'macros'.

"Yes, now do you mind? I'm bleeding to death, and your rambling!"

"Come on... We'll get you fixed up." Scar said, with a mad grin.

"And another thing... I want another chance at them. Get it for me."

"Oh you will..."

* * * * *
Red lightning sparkled around Jamie."

"Be car-" Lancelot began, but never finished.

Jamie turned his eyes to look at him. He was frozen. EVERYONE was frozen. "Wha..." Jamie forced out with much effort. The two forces pushing him were making everything difficult. A short walk to the corner was like a hike.

"So, you are trying to save a life? Tipical. That's what all you do. Everyone of you. Unfortunatly, my purpose is to make you all die and stay dead. So I cannot let you revive him, and I may as well kill you as well while I'm at it." It was the Frostkeeper.

"Why do you want to kill me? Us?"

"Because." He smiled, taking out TWO dragon longswords covered in frost.

Jamie reached to his back, reaching for his rune scimetar.

"Fool." The Frost Keeper ran at Jamie. Appearently the forces were only affecting Jamie, since he held the amulet. He prepared to slash...

Jamie dropped the amulet, and grabbed the scimetar, feeling great relief when the forces stooped pushing on him. He pulled it out and blocked with such speed that the Frost Keeper stumbled back.

"Hah. Interesting." He jumped, frontflipping over Jamie, landing beside him and grabbed the amulet, and had enough momentem to swing it, flying into Jamie, with such force that it sent him flying. When Jamie fell to the ground, the amulet landed beside him. He grabbed it, dropping the scimetar, and felt the force come back. He was only a few feet from Tahu, and all the way across the room from the keeper. He kept going, bolts crackling.

"No you don't!" He ran at Jamie, longswords flailing.

"Almost..." Jamie kneeled down next to Tahu. He had to put tons of effort into moving the amulet. It was nearly around his neck...

"You! Are! DEAD!" The Frost Keeper slashed straight at Jamie. The amulet fell onto Tahu's neck and Jamie rose his arms in defence.

CHING!

A rune scimetar blocked the keeper's slash. "Jamie... What happened? Who is this? Where is Straven? And where is Rangerbane?"

Jamie cryed out. "Tahu..." The force had drained him completely. "You are... alive... Frost Keeper...why?"

Part 20: A Prophecy Postponed
“Foolish.” The Frostkeeper took a few steps back, away from Tahu’s scimitar. “I am not finished with you yet! Trollweiss teleport!” The keeper disappeared in a blue flash.

Tahu stood up and looked around. All the ice around the others shattered. Jamie laid on the ground, still exhausted.

Sir Lancelot was the first to come to his senses. “It’s... him! It worked!”

Tahu looked at Lancelot. “Sir... Lancelot? I know you. What are you doing here? What am I doing here? And... where is the nearest restroom?”

* * * * *

* * * * *
After Tahu had done his... business, he sat down on a bench. Jamie was helped over to the bench, where he filled him in on everything that happened. “... and then I put the amulet around your neck. You know what happened next.”

“Ok then... but what about the other you? The past you? And Rangerbane. Don’t you have to save yourself?”

“Oh snap...”

Lancelot walked into the room, alongside Sarkus. “The monks are ready to tell you the prophecy.”

“I’m so sorry, but I have something urgent to do.” Jamie said.

Sarkus grinned. “Yes, you must go save yourself.”

Lancelot shook his head. “How do you save yourself... I’m confused...”

“Don’t be.” Jamie smiled. “Keeping myself from being confused is what brought me this far. I’m just going with the flow of things.”

“As am I.” said Tahu.

“Everyone involved in this probably is. I know I am.” Sarkus said. “I will escort them, Sir. They will hear the prophecy upon their return.”

Jamie turned to Sarkus and Tahu when Lancelot left the room. “I feel like this is a turning point. After we do this... the me you are going to be working with won’t be the same me you’re talking to. You two have to keep sure you remember everything that happened to me, and fill the other me in. You have to.”

“We will...”

* * * * *
Earlier...

“No.” Scar said out loud. “I won’t disobey Strangerr...”

“Yes... you will.” Stip stood before Scar in the maze. “You do, or you die.”

“On the contrary. Last time we fought, I ultimately won. I only made the mistake of letting you live. I won’t this time.” Scar drew a scythe. “Show me if you really can kill me.”

Stip drew his halberd. “Fool. All will fall before Zaros.” He swiped at Scar, who jumped it, only to be slashed from underneath.

Scar dodged the slash, and landed on the halberd, balancing. “Interesting. Your speed is phenomenal.” He frontflipped, landing behind Stip, and lunged back with his scythe, meeting air. “Wha...”

“Fool.” Stip stood behind Scar. “Zaros is unstoppable.”

“So is Zamorak.” Scar took off his hood. His eyes turned red, and his presence became more sinister and opposing. His hair was pure white.

“Welcome back to the mortal plane, Zamorak. Unfortunately, Zaros is currently not around, and is unable to fight you. But hopefully, I will be a sufficient challenge. Using his robes, Stip disappeared.

“I have that power as well! Invisipate!” Scar/Zamorak disappeared as well. Due to an odd phonemon, one who is invisible, can see everyone else, even if they are invisible.

Therefore, both could see eachother, but no-one else could see either of them.

* * * * *
A dwarf mining in a tunnel broke through a wall with his steel pickaxe. He walked through the crack, finding a maze-like tunnel. “Hmmm...”

* * * * *
As Stip was about to charge, the wall of the maze broke open. A dwarf with a steel pickaxe stumbled in. “Hmmm...” he mumbled.

Scar/Zamorak laughed, and stabbed his scythe into the dwarf’s chest. “Agh!” He died instantly, his limp body falling forward on the scythe’s blade, blood dripping. Scar/Zammy pulled the scythe out, spun around once, and as he neared the end of his spin, aimed the scythe, slashing it across the neck of the dwarf, beheading the already life-less body.

Stip took this opportunity to rush, swinging his halberd. He missed by a long shot, only detaching the rune bag from Scar/Zammy’s waist. It hit the ground, a single rune falling out. A law rune. “Aha!” Stip shouted, scooping the rune up. “Varrok Teleport!”

Scar/Zamorak spun, seeing only a purple light fading. “Dang!” Scar’s eyes went normal. He heard Zamorak’s voice in his head. “Get him, now!”

“Right...” Scar said. “Varrok Teleport!”

Here's what happened... I had every part but 21 and 22 saved at my dads. I had every part saved at my moms, and posted Pt. 22, and saved Pt. 22 at my dads. Then, a virus came to my mom's comp, and destroyed Microsoft Word and any files saved on it. Leaving me with Pts. 1-20, and Pt. 22.

So, I'll rewrite Pt. 21 I guess.

Alright, I'm taking some time from my schedule to rewrite part 21. Weee. Afterwards, Part 23 should be done in no time at all.

EDIT: Parts 21 (rewritten) and Part 22!

Part 21: Return of the Old God
Stip appeared in Varrok Square. “Yes… I can feel Zaros’ power already.”

Get a hold of yourself Stip said a voice inside Stip’s head. You aren’t like this. Destroy the amulet, Zaros is too dangerous! Stip recognized it as his consciousness. “I am not the same person I was.” The power has corrupted you, that’s why!

Shrugging it off, Stip began to head east, noticing the square of Varrok had reached late stages in its reconstruction, after the trio from the Cult of the Unknown had literally burnt it to ash. Stip noticed a glimmer of purple behind him. “So he comes.”

Scar was standing behind Stip, scythe drawn. “You fool. Zaros will only be a trouble to everyone. Not just Lord Zamorak, but to yourself.”

Stip laughed, reaching into a compartment in his cloak and pulling out cheese. Munching on it, he laughed again. “Zaros, a problem to me? No… this won’t be a full blown possessing. No… Zaros and I will become one.”

Scar laughed. “It is impossible. Lord Zamorak has told me stories of Zaros. You are just fooling yourself.” Scar ran at Stip, scythe in both hands, and swiped. His attack was bunted aside by Stip’s halberd, which proceeded to cut clean through the air inches from Scar’s chest. Scar leaned back, startled, and soon found the handle of a halberd in his gut. Scar tripped backwards, wind knocked out of him. Coming to his senses, he got to his feet. Stip was dashing eastward, toward the museum.

“For Zamorak’s sake!” Scar swore, and took out his Book of Zamorak. “Mythes, Heanrqa, Goased, Speed of Zamorak!” Spurts of darkness sprouted from the book, and twisted around Scar’s legs. “Lord, grant me speed!” He burst off running at Stip, moving as fast as the wind, leaving black flames in his tracks.

Stip heard a quick flicker of movement occur behind him, sidestepped and held out his halberd. Scar’s leg collided with the blade of the halberd, causing him to fall forward, to in front of the bank.

“A clean cut… not too deep…” Ignoring the pain, Scar just managed to stand.

"Scar!" shouted a voice from inside the bank.

Scar weakly made his way through the door, finding Straven, hands clutched on his eye. Blood was everywhere. "Yes?"

"What... happened?" Straven said with difficulty.

'macros'.” Scar said, thinking he had it remembered right.

"Yes, now do you mind? I'm bleeding to death, and your rambling!" Straven shouted.

"Come on... We'll get you fixed up." Scar said, with a mad grin. He stepped forward, secretly clutching a jade amulet.

"And another thing... I want another chance at them. Get it for me." Straven said, anger in his voice. Scar didn’t have to ask who ‘them’ was referring to.

"Oh you will..." Scar said with a grin.

Meanwhile, as this conversation was happening, Stip was making his way to the Museum of Varrok. “Now… the old god returns.” He removed the Zaros’ Amulet and entered the building.

The Curator was snoozing on a chair. Stip quietly approached the only corpse in the house, labled ‘Zaros, the Old God’. “God, how little care they put to preserving it…” He tiptoed forward, only to have the Zaros’ amulet burst out purple bolts.

“Augh!” shouted the Curator in shock. The blast had awoken him. “What… what is that amulet doing?”

Suddenly, a bolt from the amulet met with the corpse. A voice spoke in Stip’s head… no, two voices.

Stip, come closer… said one.

No! Control yourself! He is tricking you! said the other.

Zaros spoke louder. Hurry!

The Curator jumped up. “Don’t harm the relics of the past!!!” He rat at Stip, only to be blasted back by one of the bolts. Stip walked through the energy with difficulty, holding the amulter forward.

“Great Zaros!” Stip proclaimed. “Accept my soul, and bind yourself to this amulet!” The bolts got more intense, but Stip continued. Suddenly, Stip could feel true power arrive in his amulet. The binding was nearly complete. Stip returned the amulet to his neck, and spoke these words. “My only regret… Sorry Jamie… Rangerbane… And those who have died so far.” For a moment, it seemed the good in Stip had won over. But it would not last, as a pillar of purple energy exploded from Stip and the amulet. The Curator had gotten back to his feet.

“No!” Stip/Zaros turned.

“Fool. Your life was a long one. You have no more reason to be here… leave this world!” A blast of purple energy exploded from the smoke staff Stip/Zaros had drawn, and incinerated the Curator, leaving only charred bone, that fell to the ground. “Perish.” A pillar of purple energy exploded from Stip/Zaros, blasting through the roof of Varrok Museum.

Scar looked out of the bank, only to see a pillar of purple launch from the… Museum! “No! He made it! Lord Zamorak will have my head!” Scar looked closer. “What? It turned into a ball… and it’s getting closer! Holy-!” Scar grabbed Straven, and rubbed his jade amulet.

BOOM!

The East Bank of Varrok was no more, except for a figure standing in the ashes and smoke, wearing purple robes. “Now… The fun begins…”

Part 22: Black Knights
Jamie, Tahu, and Sarkus walked out of the Monastary, on the way to Doric's Shack. An awkward silence hung over the group. A racoon scurried through the trees, and looked at our heroes. Sarkus broke the silence. "We must hurry. We have very little time before the goblins kill Rangerbane."

Jamie looked at the sky. "As far as I can tell... me and Rangerbane must be on the path to Doric's Shack."

Sarkus thought for a moment. He dug into his rune pouch, and pulled out a time rune, among several elemental runes. "I can stall. Timeport!" In a flash of blue light, Sarkus dissapeared.

Jamie and Rangerbane walked down the path toward Doric's shack. Suddenly, in a flash of blue, Sarkus appeared before them. "Who are you?" they asked in unision.

"I'm... Uhh... The Mysterious Old Man!" said Sarkus, thinking quickly.

Jamie raised an eyebrow. "You don't look too old..."

"I... I.... take that as a compliment!" Sarkus said, forcing a smile.

"Why have you come to us, oh mysterious man?" Rangerbane asked.

"I have.... a mysterious box for each of you! Here, give me a second." Sarkus turned, pulling off his pack and rummaging through it.

The racoon suddenly looked up. It sniffed, and ran off into the bush. "What was that about?" asked Tahu.

"It must have heard something... Maybe someone else is nearby." replied Jamie. He looked around. Tahu's hand fell to his side. "Wait..." said Jamie. "Is that... footsteps?"

THUMP THUMP THUMP

Tahu reached to his rune scimitar. Jamie looked around more. He took a few steps back.

THUMP THUMP THUMP

Tahu's hand tightened on his scimitar's handle. Jamie pulled out his ADBS, and turned, several arrows hitting into his shield. "We're being attacked!" Jamie would have ran to the Monastary, but that would be moving closer to where the arrows were fired from. So, he ran off in the other direction, toward Barbarian's Village.

"Jamie, wait!" Tahu shouted. He would have run, but he felt the point of a sword on his back.

"What have we here?" Tahu turned his head, seeing a Black Knight. The fowlest of the fowl. "Ah, a warrior. You seem like the White Knight kind. Well, we don't take kindly to White Knights and anyone involved with them. So... what shall we do you with you..."

Another Black Knight stepped in front of Tahu. "Yes, what shall we do with you..."

A third knight stepped beside the second. "He looks like a perfect treat for the dungeon rats." Tahu could see this knight's eyes, as he had no helmet.

Black Knight #1 grinned. "It is decided! We will throw him in the dungeon!"

"Yeah, we will throw him in the dungeon!" said Black Knight #2.

Black Knight #3 pulled out a wooden club. "Well then, g'night to you mister!" With a single blow to his head, Tahu was out cold.

Sarkus continued 'looking for his mysterious boxes'. "We've no time for you mister. We have a friend to save." said Jamie. Sarkus turned, knowing that he had to find another way to stall. He pulled out a funny hat and a basket full of treats. He put them on.

"I was just kidding about the whole Mysterious Man thing! I'm actually the Sandwitch Lady!" he said.

Rangerbane raised an eyebrow this time. "If you are the Sandwitch Lady, then why are you a guy?" Sarkus began to sweat.

"I'm... not... I'm..... just pick a treat!"

"Alright..." said Jamie. He picked up a kebab. Sarkus grabbed the baguette from the basket, and hit Jamie over the head. "Oww! What was that for!" he shouted, dropping the kebab back in the basket.
"Wrong snack." said Sarkus. He would have to keep this up.
"Alright, which one?" said Rangerbane.
"Choose." was all Sarkus said.
"Okay..." Rangerbane reached over, and picked up a chocolate bar. "Oww! Stupid baguette..."

Jamie arrived in Barbarian's Village. "Whew, we got away Tahu!" He heard no response. He turned, seeing no-one. "Tahu? TAHU!"
Tahu awoke in the dark. "Where..." Suddenly, a small amount of light appeared, revealing a door. The light was from a slide in the door. "What..?"
Black Knight #3 said "Ah, he's awake. Send in the rats." Tahu reconised his eyes through the slide.
"Send in the rats!!!" Tahu reconised the voice of Black Knight #1.
"Yeah, Send in the rats!" mimiced the voice Tahu remembered as Black Knight #2.
Tahu heard something in the wall shift. "Squeak, Squeak!" Tahu heard little claws scraping across the floor. SLAM! The slide on the door closed. Tahu reached for his scimitar, finding it wasn't there. He stood up. He heard more scraping behind him, he turned, and kicked, hoping to his something. His foot connected with a furry body, and flew across the room, hitting the wall with a smack. He ran over to where he heard it, and searched the ground, finding something. After fingering it, he dropped it, for it was a dead rat.

Part 23: Return of the Damned
Tahu may just be a warrior, but he did know a bit of magic. “Fire Strike…” he whispered so the Black Knights wouldn’t hear him. Flames spouted from his fingertips, revealing the room around him. A skeleton laid chained to the wall, which was dusty and dry. A door with a closed slide was visible, as well as a hole in the wall. That was probably where the rat came from. But the knight had said… Send in the rats… That meant there was probably more on the way. Holding the flame in his palm, Tahu tiptoed over to the hold, and kneeled. Placing his hand and head inside, he realized if he shed his plate legs (his plate body was already cut down by Straven) he could probably crawl through.

“Squeak…” Suddenly, a rat burst out of the tunnel, grabbing Tahu’s face with its dirty little claws. Tahu moved his hands up to grab it, but forgot the fire which suddenly burst out, setting the rat to fire. Tahu tore the Rat from his face, and threw it at the wall. His face felt burnt, so he held his hands to his face. “Water Strike…” he mumbled. A small blast of water cooled the burns. They didn’t see too bad, it was probably the rat scratches that were more serious. He cast another Fire Strike, and looked back into the hole. There was no way he could get through with all those rats coming… unless his theory of how the rats were getting in was correct…

Tahu focused his energy, and the flames in his hands grew. Due to his poor magic skills, this spell would drain him, though if it worked, he could escape. “Fire Bolt…!” he said, unable to whisper it due to the energy needed. A larger blast of fire burst from his hand, through the tunnel, where he heard the shouts of Black Knights, and the horrified squeaks of rats.

“He must be dealt with NOW!” Suddenly, Tahu heard a groan beside him, along with the clattering of bones. “No it can’t be… Fire Strike…” The flames in Tahu’s hand reappeared, and lit the room again. The chained Skeleton was moving… and trying to break from its chains! It seemed to be working too! The Skeleton was clawing out its right arm, and the chain links were breaking, until… snap! A link broke, and the skeleton was almost free.

“Growl!” Out of the corner of his eye, Tahu saw a large black dog come out of the tunnel, with huge teeth. Tahu knew he couldn’t handle both the skeleton and the dog… “Unless… no, that’s crazy. My magic is nowhere near good enough to do that… and if I did, I’d probably pass out from exhaustion. Still…” Not left with much choice Tahu ignored the dog growling at him, ready to pounce any second, and turned to the skeleton. He reached his hand outward, and shouted “Crumble Undead!” The skeleton, which had just broken its left arm out, suddenly was hit by an invisible force and crumbled to pieces. In turn Tahu swung his hand around toward the dog, while shouting “Telekinetic Grab!” A ball of purple energy formed around the skeleton remains, and swung around, following Tahu’s arm, and crashing into the dog, impaling it with bone. Tahu was very surprised that the spells hadn’t… hadn’t drained him at all. He decided that he could probably try stronger spells if those had hardly drained him at all. Stepping over the dead dog, and toward the door, flame still in hand, he put his other hand forward, and shouted “Earth Blast!” This spell did not drain him either, launching a large rock from nowhere at the door, blasting it off the hinges and against the wall. Though not being drained, Tahu noticed his knuckles ached. Shrugging it off, he exited the room, only to find a single hallway leading to a staircase down.

Cautiously, he descended the stairs, and found himself in a high, thin, and long room. From one end to the other, a massive metal gate went down the length of the room. “What is with this room?” Everything in front of the gate was lit, but everything behind it wasn’t visible.

“I think I can answer that question.” Also in the room, about thirty meters from Tahu was a man in dark robes, with a staff Tahu had never seen before. “This is the Room of the Dead. Every person the Black Knights kill goes behind these bars and are never seen again. I, am Valacios Mortimer, a Necromancer.”

Tahu was about to say something, but Valacios just held up his hand to halt him.

“For years, the Black Knights have been trying to accomplish something, but never had the materials. That changed quite recently.” Vala had long, silver hair that went straight down his back. His eyes were pure black. “With the discovery of Rune Essence, the Knights had their chance. But they could not figure how to gain the precious ore. Eventually, they hired a powerful mage. You may remember him… His name was Solus.”

Tahu was shocked. Tahu had recently done a task for the mighty Temple Knights, in which he needed to track down Solus, who was highly wanted by the Knights. After a race across Runescape, Tahu eventually cornered Solus at a Rune Essence Mine and disposed of him.

Vala continued. “When Solus reached the Essence, he quickly teleported a large stone of it to the Black Knights… it would be all they would need. Afterward, the Knights began their scheme… they implanted pieces of Pure Rune Essence in place of the knuckles of powerful mages. Unfortunately, because of the skill of the mages, they accidentally binded the Essence into their most common used rune, which halted the Knights plans. It even failed for me… the Essence in my knuckles is now tiny bits of Fade Rune that is forever bonded to me, and therefore, infinite.”

Tahu couldn’t understand. “But what were they trying to do?”

“The Knights were trying to obtain a mage who could cast any spell… and had infinite capabilities of every rune. But to do that, they would need one who was not much of a mage, someone who would not accidentally bind the runes. Believe me, I am perfectly fine with Fade runes…”

“But you are a necromancer… Why would you need Fade Runes?” Tahu questioned.

“Ah, these runes aren’t only for disappearing. They can also be used to… Fade one from existence. Observe…” He snapped his finger. A Black Knight came into the room through a corridor, and kneeled in front of Vala.

“Yes master?” the Knight asked.

“Fade.” He simply said, pointing at the Knight. The knight looked puzzled, and raised his finger, put soon put his hands on his chest and began to hack and cough, then stop at all. His eyes and tongue disappeared, and he fell to the ground, pale, and lifeless. “The Fade spell completely fades the insides of the target into oblivion.”

Tahu was still confused. “But what does that have to do with Necromancy? I thought I had to do with raising dead?”

“Ah, but that is not all the runes can do… Defade.” Vala pointed at the dead knight who got to his hands and feet, and stood up. His skin was blue… he was a zombie, but he was up. “You see? Anyways, back on topic. The knights needed one who had little experience with magic so he would not accidentally bind the Essence, but who still knew how to use magic. Someone like you, Tahu. Look at your hands.”

Tahu, not believing what he was hearing, looked at his hands. His knuckles were pure white.

Vala grinned. “Now, you must unleash your full power. Show me what you can do...” The enormous gate to the Room of the Dead began to slowly open. Vala pointed his hand out into the darkness. “Defade!” Still grinning, he mumbled “Invisipate.” And disappeared, leaving Tahu alone in a room which was choc full of undead.

Part 24: Not Goblins! ANYTHING BUT GOBLINS!
Sarkus was out of ideas, and Jamie and Rangerbane had ignored him, and continued toward Doric’s. He ran after them and –

“SARKUS!” shouted Jamie (for this chapter, Jamie present will be referred to as Jamie #1, and Jamie past will be referred to as Jamie #2). He was running after Sarkus.

Sarkus turned. “We must hurry. They- Hey… Where is Tahu?”

Jamie frowned. “I don’t know. We were attacked from afar. I ran, but Tahu didn’t get away. I don’t know what happened…”

Sarkus scowled. “There is no time for this…. There is very little time…”

“Sure... come in... and while your at it close the do- RUN! GOBLIN AMBUSH!” shouted a dwarven voice… Doric.

“No! Timefreeze!!” shouted Sarkus.

The world went black. Jamie realized he had closed his eyes in fright, and opened them. Everything was frozen. Not with ice… just quiet, and not moving. Sarkus was beside him, staff drawn, and pointed forward. Jamie slowly moved forward, and saw a spear, frozen in time, inches from Rangerbane’s heart, who was standing in front of Doric’s hut with Jamie #2, inside of which stood the sweating Doric. The surrounding cliffs were filled with goblins, armed with spears. The air was clogged with frozen spears. Jamie #1 moved forward, and grabbed the spear by Rangerbane, that otherwise would have impaled him. It was hard to move for some reason, most likely a side-effect of the time-stop. He tried to push it, when suddenly it moved with ease, and fluttered away from him, spinning, then coming to a stop in front of Jamie #2.

The air around looked like it was moving like a wave, and Jamie #1 realized what was happening and ducked.

The pain scream of Jamie #2 filled the air, along with the laughs of the goblins and the Frost Keeper.

Tahu felt everything around him stop. The zombies were all frozen. Was this a newly acquired power? He couldn’t tell, but realized his chance. He placed his hands on the zombie black knight by him, and cast Crumble Undead multiple times. The spells appeared, but did not activate. He then cast Earth Bolt, which covered his hands with stone, giving him rock hard strength. He held his hands back, and slammed them into the knight, sending him flying into the horde of undead Valacios had summoned. The air around turned wavy, and the following explosion of undead limbs sent Tahu flying back into the wall.

The words muttered by Sarkus the moment after unfreezing were “RAIN OF ARYMADYL!” Many blasts of pink light flew from the heavens, crashing into each goblin, killing them on contact. The resulting explosion of light blinded all around, Sarkus, Jamie, Rangerbane, the Frost Keeper, and any remaining Goblins.

Jamie #2 felt the spear impale his chest, barely missing the heart. Blood streamed from him, as he felt life force fading. A laughing man could be heard on the cliff behind him. He turned, seeing someone dressed in icy looking robes.

“You are still alive? Very well… Ice Blitz.” The last thing Jamie #2 saw was an ice crystal impaling him.

Jamie #1 (or now, just Jamie), jumped from behind Doric’s Shack, drawing his rune scimitar.

“What!?” shouted the Frost Keeper. “You don’t know when to die!” Jamie then threw the scimitar at his foe. It cleaved through the air, shining brightly, before spinning in a way it would directly hit the cold one’s heart.

If it had reached its target, that is. A small shield of ice had appeared before the scimitar, which it smacked into, falling to the ground. The shield crumbled, and the Frost Keeper picked up the blade, froze it, and crushed it into ice dust. “If you still seek to eliminate me, meet me on Trollweiss. Oh, and yes. I do know of the incident at the Monastery. No matter what time I may be in, I will always know what I have done. The goblins will take care of you now. Trollweiss Teleport!” The Frost Keeper disappeared in blue light.

Jamie turned to Rangerbane. “Be quiet. I’ll explain everything..” He glanced at himself lying dead on the ground. “Especially that.”

Sarkus walked up to Jamie. “He said the goblins would handle us. What is he talking about…”

“I think we are just about to find out…” said Rangerbane, pointing to behind Sarkus.

I don't know. Then again, I'm not Top.

Stip, Tahu's predicament is all your fault.

Ooh, everyones back. I think I wrote Pt 23 already, let me sift around a bit...

Ah, here it is. Tahu holds a bigger part in this part. I'll edit it into the post with Pts 21 and 22.

Yay, Tahu gets to cast large amounts of spells at the undead!

*Crumble Undead*

I saw it coming as soon as you said that the stone was implanted in the knuckles. They were going to kill him, then raise him as an undead mage able to cast any spell.

But there's a drawback to this power. There always is.
