OOC: Shut, as Black Mage is trying to stall Yuki as he trys to escape

OOC: Oh, oops, when I thought of the building I assumed there was an open doorway. It's closed then, which is fine by me, you called it.

BIC:

Yuki's arms started healing slowly at first, but as more of her arms healed, the faster the procedure finished. The room she was in was dark and grey as usual, and as she looked around it became clear that this was a glasses shop. Most of these spectacles had enough metal in them to be fashioned into anything Yuki needed. She grabbed three pairs and placed them in the inside pocket of her black jacket, holding a fourth in her hands. All this time a certain amount of processing power had been directed towards waiting for Black Mage to enter, but he never did. Felix had not, either. Perhaps the contenders were afraid of semi-enclosed spaces?

Yuki walked to the door. He could be heading for the door at that very moment. There was also a possibility, of course, that Black Mage was right outside the door, ready to attack as soon as Yuki opened it. She ran through what she knew of his attacks, trying to select one that would fit his situation well here.

The only attack she knew he possessed so far was a long-range one. As such, the probability was greater that he wasn't right next to the door, but further beyond it. A new plan of action emerged--throw the door open and dart out of it and to the sides before a long-range attack could reach her. Wasting no time, she grabbed the door handle and opened the door--or would have, had it not been stuck. Interesting, the door had opened freely for her just a minute before. The only probable cause for its not working now was Black Mage's doing. Looking around, Yuki noticed that most of the windows were covered in rubble on the outside, probably from shockwaves from the recent big explosion. This door was the only way out.

Stepping back from the door, Yuki quickly collected more pairs of glasses from all around the store and started performing a large data modification, merging them all into a bowling-ball size ball of metal.

What... What was taking her so long? Was she finding another way out? Or preparing something? Regardless, Black Mage realized he would have to act if she didn't. "Damn..." he whispered to himself, still backing up along the street, fireball charged. He couldn't keep the fireball ready forever, it would burn his hand. "Gotta move..." he mumbled, and tossed the fireball at the door. The door would burst into flames, along with anything near it, and likely be damaged or even destroyed as well. This would have a chance of harming Yuki, while still keeping her exit blocked, Black Mage thought to himself, as he drew a dagger from his seemingly endless supply and held it at the ready. He kept backing up, faster than before though.

OOC: I almost did this action in the last post, so trust me, it was happening very soon. ^_^;

BIC:

The bowling ball-sized mass of metal was fully formed. Yuki aimed for the door's hinges and threw the ball, hard, at them. As it sped through the air, she quickly modified its density (as she had done to Felix's rockpile before) so that its momentum was much greater. The ball hit the spot dead-on, shattering the hinges of the door as the entire thing fell forwards. What came next was entirely unexpected, even for Yuki's complex probability calculations. As the door slammed into the ground, a fireball flew through the open doorway. She barely sidestepped out of the way, feeling minor burns as the fireball passed in close proximity to her. It hit the back of the glasses store as entire shelves became engulfed in flames.

Yuki was momentarily confused. Could her impact on the door have caused the fireball? Of course not. The highest probability was Black Mage's doing once again, although for the fireball to have come that quickly, he must have launched his attack the same time she had launched hers. Had she exectued her plan a moment later, the door might have impacted the fireball, smothering it. Had she done it even a moment after that, the fireball would have hit the door and caught the entire front of the building on fire. Perhaps this is what organic lifeforms called "luck".

There was no time for that now, as the shelves behind her collapsed from weakness. She darted out the door, scanning the area for Black Mage. He wasn't immediately nearby, so she started looking farther away.

A few moments before BM's fireball collided with the door, it burst open and fell to the ground. Luck, was that what is was? The fireball continued into the room, but Black Mage was too far away to see if it hit Yuki or not. He got his answer, because soon after, Yuki darted out the door.

Black Mage shook his head. What could he do now? His blue robes would stand out in this gray city, so Yuki would spot him in a matter of seconds. He had a good number of fireballs and Bolt-2's left, but 1 more of Chad's beams, definatley. Deciding to strike first, Black Mage returned his dagger to his cloak and shot a Bolt-2 spell at Yuki.

As Yuki rotated her field of vision to look for Black Mage, she sensed a modification in the air's electrical charge. A bolt of lightning was coming right at her from Black Mage's now given-away location. Yuki did a side jump to the left, hoping to avoid the bolt. True to lightning's form, though, it sort of reached out at her as it passed and charred her jacket's right sleeve a bit more.

All of Black Mage's attacks thus far had been long-range. As such, Yuki began executing preliminary code to have another force field at the ready, just like she had done with Felix's Meteor. As she did so, she contemplated what to do about Black Mage. Fight him, of course, but how? Most likely through data manipulation; her best tool, yet one she hadn't been using enough in this battle. For some reason, she didn't seem to be at full power anymore. Perhaps it was the earlier battle with Felix, maybe it was the original Lightning attack from which she retreated. But in any case, things weren't going as well as a best-case scenario. Given a little more time, she could have nullified Black Mage's lightning bolt just now by modifying the electrical charge, or better yet, redirected it completely.

All of Black Mage's attacks thus far had been long-range. She dwelled on this again, making a decision--she was going to take the fight to him. Yuki ran straight at Black Mage, ready to execute any attack in her moderately-sized physical moveset. She could take a hit. Could he?

Sure thing. My last final is on Friday from 1-3, but then I leave for the airport at 3:15 to catch my 6:30 flight. So I should post again on Saturday.

"Damn." said Black Mage, as Yuki charged at him, not as destroyed as he had hoped by his last attack. As another Bolt-2 charged in his hand, he kept backing up, slower, now that he knew he could not run. And then, in almost a single movement, he thrust his hand forward, firing the bolts, and pulled out a knive and held it at the ready.

BIC:

Yuki drew excess power from her Agility and redirected it to what humans would classify as Thinking Clearly. She slowed down a little bit, but she noticed the Lightning attack as soon as it left Black Mage's hands. Dashing to the left once again, Yuki held her right hand out forward and to the right a little. The lightning bolt was attracted to it, but as it got inches away from her hand, it dispersed in an array of rainbow-like colors.

OOC: Lots of spears flying in from above, Yuki does a backflip and just sort of nullifies them all. o_O

BIC:

As the electrical charge from the lightning and the bright glare from it faded, Yuki deactived her shield and jumped into a flying kick aimed at Black Mage.

IC: Ooh. Pretty colours. Shaking his head, Black Mage refocused on the situation. The lights faded and Yuki came flying in with a kick. Side-stepping, Black Mage sliced his knive at her, now that she had thrusted all her weight in one direction.

OOC: While I don't want the Battlefield to stall, the 3-day rule is really keeping me motivated to post, lol. So it's working from my standpoint.

BIC:

Black Mage stepped to the side and slashed out with something. Yuki tried to lurch in mid-air, but didn't get far, as the knife cut her on her right side, starting at her waist and moving up a couple inches. She ran through his moveset again. No, only the Lightning attack. So he knew physical moves after all.

Yuki landed short, only a couple of feet from Black Mage. Focusing her power on data manipulation, she changed the molecular structure of the knife Black Mage was holding. It felt the same and looked the same, but had become very brittle. Trying to attack someone with it would be just like attacking with a knife made of snow: it would simply crumble. Hopefully, he would use the knife again to no avail--it would buy her at least one successful move, perhaps.

Spinning clockwise, Yuki raised her right leg and launched a fast kick straight towards Black Mage's head, since she was already so close to him.

"DIE!" Black Mage said as the knife tore through her. She landed, and a second later, her right leg was raised for a kick. "Idiot, think that would work again?" said Black Mage, rotating so the knife in his hand was in the way of Yuki's kick. But suddenly, Yuki's kick tore right through the dagger and connected with Black Mage's head. As the pieces of the shattered dagger crumbled to the ground, so too did Black Mage, landing in a terrible lump a few feet away. "Ooh... Headache..." Shaking his throbbing head, Black Mage looked at the nearby Yuki. "Die already." he muttered, and let loose one of Chad's beams.

And it did buy her one successful move. Yuki's foot crashed through the dagger and connected with Black Mage's head, sending him reeling. He landed a few feet away. Now that his dagger was destroyed, the probability was highest that he would switch back to his long-range Lightning move for his next attack. Yuki started walking towards Black Mage, shield ready at the first sign of an electrical charge. Instead, she heard him speak; "Die already." Yuki barely threw up her shield at the last second, but what collided with it wasn't what she had expected. This wasn't a lightning bolt. It wasn't even a fireball (not solidly recorded in his moveset, but suspected due to the previous building fire.) This strange beam was something much, much more--and it wasn't stopping fast enough. She hadn't prepared the shield for this type of attack. Yuki raised her arm against the shield, trying to reroute power and do everything possible to keep it up, but in the end it started to crack. Mere seconds after the giant beam began, Yuki's shield faltered and the blast hit her full-force just as the beam ceased. She was sent reeling as Black Mage had been, landing between ten and twenty feet away. The front of her outer jacket had been completely shredded, and she was bleeding in several spots. The situation wasn't dire quite yet, but it was getting there, and fast. Yuki slowly got up and regained her footing, prepared to launch all available processing power into manipulating data and turning Black Mage's next attack against him.

OOC:

It's hard to play Yuki without godmodding. ^_^;

Just so you know I'm trying to keep it real, know that damage doesn't really hurt Yuki. It does, however, detract from her ability to manipulate data, which makes her more and more vulnerable as the fight goes on.

(She wasn't really all that fine, but at least she lived to tell the tale. (Except Yuki doesn't tell tales.))

(Plus, Dom/Taris fail at after-finals posting. 8-[

IC: Damn. That beam took more out of him then he expected. As Yuki clattered away and his beam died off, Black Mage realized he could only use a few more fireballs and Bolt-2's before he'd be out of magic. He slowly got up, and ran towards Yuki, still dizzy from the kick. As he reached into his cloak and pulled out a dagger, he realized he was almost out of them too.

Yuki was up before he reached her, but still, he lunged at her with his dagger. "STABBITY DEATH!" he shouted.

OOC: Lulz at post-finals posting. I guess I'll post, even though I was the last one to do so.

BIC: The attack from Benihime struck Tyr's arm, and caused it to cease moving. Although he had slammed into the shield, Kisuke jumped up from the ground quickly and backed away, preparing for his next attack.

OOC: By the way, Topsummoner, what's up with 10/12/07, and why is that the day I started?
