ooc: he doesn't have a shadow since he's emitting light same as the sun.
Also keep in mind what happens when you look through a scope at something shining bright.

Leaving no shadow to reaveal his location, Xavier rolls down to the ground behind Commander. He turns around slashing his sword at Commander's legs and sprints off remembering one final detail. A half a dozen trees come crashing down on top of Commander standing in their path as they come crashing down.

OOC: He didn't. He put up his shield as you went into the sun.
If you're emitting light, then you'll change Commander's shadow unless you're in line with the sun (ans his shield). You can't move out of the path of the sun without causing a change in either your shadow or Commander's shadow.

"Where do we go now, Sweet Child O Mine..." sang Guitar Hero, before the ashes rose up. "You're still up? Alright, time to finish the song..." As the spears flung at Guitar Hero, he hit the orange fret on his guitar and whammied. The spears rebounded off the shield, and the tree stopped atop it. Walking out from under the tree, he dispelled the shield and hit the green fret and whammy bar, shooting homing sound blasts at each of the spears. "I wonder if this'll work..."

Then you'll also come down along the same path as Commander's shield, thus being unable to hurt him.

But you said Commander moved to the side, thus the shield isn't directly under Xavier anymore :-s

Yes, so attack already. I can't do anything when you're in front of the sun.
Here's my picture:
Commander-Shield------------Xavier-------------------------------------------------Sun
Commander's shield is in line with him and the sun. Xavier is between Commander and the sun to stay hidden. Commander's moving slowly, so Xavier won't be out of the sun's line for a few more posts unless he moves, which would give Commander an extra shadow, revealing Xavier's position. Simple as that.

He did attack, and at the end of your post, you said Commander moved to the side, thus he would be out from under Xaiver.

Where did he attack?
If he's out from under the sun, then he's fair game. Are you telling me he's fair game again?

Oh, I ignored that, because he can't have left no shadow to reveal his location. He's either casting a shadow or emitting light, causing Commander to have a second shadow. He can't leave no shadow.

ooc: Fine then time to finish this since I apparently need to repost.

Image
That's where we stand currently.

BIC
Xavier slashes the trees falling down on top of Commander setting them on fire as he drifts away. He slides along the ground for a moment and phases his sword into the high frequency range. Rushing toward the pile of burning trees, Xavier jumps on top of them and thrusts his high frequency gamma sword through where Commander was and deactivates it escaping the burning pile.

ooc
is it over now top?

btw... an intensified beam of gamma radiation would take several feet of
depleted uranium to block just FYI before you try saying you blocked it or something

OOC: Again, you're giving off light. I can't miss whatever you're doing. Try a little stealth. Plus, I always pack something to deal with fire.
BIC: As the flaming trees fell around him, Commander used his jet pack and boots to boost sideways (parallel to the ground, roughly perpendicular to Xavier's vision of the area) out of the area, concealed by the raging inferno. As Xavier stabbed where he would have been and leaped back, Commander rolled in behind him, sword drawn, and stabbed him right in the back, his crystal sword absorbing all the energy from his opponent's armor and weapons and blasting Xavier with it.
OOC: Now it's over. That's what happens when you leave too much time where you can't see your opponent and then blindly leap backwards.

oooh no you don't
not near, not around, ON the trees fell on you especialy the first one which YOU
COULDNT SEE since you put your shield up. you you had your chance to move out
of the way but instead you stood there "moving slowly to the side" These... are large
trees not just like saplings dude I mean like forest kind of trees. Not to mention the
fact that in character you couldn't even tell the trees were coming.

You're trapped dude, I've set this up for like ten posts now and you fell into it,
you're not going to just get out as easily as magicly knowing that not only are
there trees, but also somehow making them not fall on you like i'd made them do.
This of course on top of the fact that somehow you managed to avoid all of them
mere feet above you escaping them entirely, change direction completely, come up
behind me after somehow evading my vision from me looking straight at where you
were, then stabbing me ALL ON ONE POST. My set up took as many posts as I've
done in this topic minus the OOC ones, so no you're not going to get out of it
instantaneously and kill me in one turn.

OOC: I can see the trees falling. THEY cast shadows, even if you don't. I can move fast enough to avoid the trees, especially with a fireproof cape and already being near to the edge. I wasn't moving fast, but I was still moving before the final post. You said it yourself: "where Commander was", not where he is. Plus, as you said, you set this up. You don't have a plan for what would happen if your plan went wrong. You didn't look at my character and say "Hmm, he can move fast sideways with those jet shoes and pack of his, and I won't be able to see when he uses them because of the fire. Also, he has a fireproof cape, so he might be able to survive at the edge of the fire." Also, your vision is obstructed by the fire, so you can't see me dodge. Add on top of that the fact that it's an all or nothing final strike, one little change on my part means your plan fails. Again, I know from experience that setting things like this up are easy to fail. And your excuse about "I set this up for ten posts, you can't ruin it in one" is nonsense. I can and will ruin your plan in one post. That's all it takes to ruin a plan. Now, you can decide that you have enough strength left to limp away and recover, or you can die. Your choice. You're as helpless as I was when I faced Kisame sans arm (Battlefield 6).

nope wrong again, the trees didn't cast shadows because I was diving below them
teleporting them above me except for the very last one. (note the picture) It's the
same idea as having a bright flashlight in front of you and a light behind you with
people standing behind you. My light is bright enough that you can't see their
shadows since the light is incredibly bright, so if you looked you'd be blinded and they
cast no shadow, infact the ground would be brighter due to the sword.

And regarding "where commander was" The reason I said that is because that's
where he was when the trees fell on him. You missed your chance a post ago to run
like hell with whatever means possible to avoid these things at the rate they were
falling you had no time to avoid them at this point. Infact had you run you run or
jetted at this point you run the risk of being driven into the ground like a nail.
I'm not going to take your ruling on this just because it's way too godmoddy to
instakill somebody in one post. I know you don't like this, but you had your chances
to avoid this but you missed them. You're blinded, when the trees come down by
my sword and the EMP, and the trees are too close to avoid without having some
rediculous acceleration that would black you out from the G forces alone which
won't really help you. If by some magic you avoid my searing hot beam of radiation,
you'll be cooked by the several tons of hot burning lumber.

my advice, wait for top to rule on this, you've done well to this point, there's no
sense in acting this way when you get cornered.

Unless he used his fire-shielded cape to protect himself. But that would leave him open to simply being beheaded, because he would have to hold himself there until the fire died out. Yeauh, no.

Now that Tahu's decently valid excuse has been used up, let's see the crap.

OOC: Xaiver is emitting light, he has no shadow, and theres also a shield obscuring your view, you don't see if coming and what not... Znath is right, basicly. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

That's my last recent post top
my question is, with all this going on and it being too late for him to escape...
what's your ruling? battle over or what. He basicly got buried beneith loads of burning
wood then run through with a sword of gamma rays. You can read through the posts
I just want to know is if the combinations and my set up count as a victory or if he
still gets to go on.
