Kratos looked from Maria to the ocean, and back again. "I personally want to wait it out to see if they plan to leave. We can get around if need be to get away, and your ship should be okay for a quick get-away, Chipp, but as for Zemdi..." Kratos thought hard. Could magic help? Runic magic didn't affect her, and he only hurt her at the reactor when he grabbed something magically when she was made of the same material... Wait, that material? "I think I may know how to find Zemdi. If there's a way to search for something by magic... Maria, Chipp, Alex, I say we lie low until they're gone and get on the ship until we know what course we're headed for. For now, though, let's get away from here directly. I don't like being within eyesight of them, it makes me un-easy."
Kratos stepped back, watching the machines until he could safely turn around and find a small section of the town dedicated as a park. The docks were still visible, but from that distance, only very plain features could be seen. Kratos found a bench and sank into it, pulling out the book to look through for something to aid a search. He flipped through until he saw the letters of "Crying" and couldn't help his curiousity, thinking there was something about fixing or creating tears.
Scrying (Scrying comes from the English word descry meaning "to make out dimly" or "to reveal.")
Scrying (also called crystal gazing, crystal seeing, seeing, or peeping) is a magic practice that involves seeing things supernaturally in a medium, usually for purposes of divination or fortune-telling. The media used are most commonly reflective, translucent, or luminescent substances such as crystals, stones, glass, mirrors, water, fire, or smoke. Scrying has been used in many cultures as a means of divining the past, present, or future. Depending on the culture and practice, the visions that come when one stares into the media are thought to come from God, spirits, the psychic mind, the devil, or the subconscious...
Kratos read on, curious, wondering if he had anything he could use. If he was reading right, scrying magic could help him see where Zemdi was... The only problem was that the only immediately local gem was on his amulet. He didn't want to bother Sjenas after a rough trade, so he hoped it would do, somehow, as he kept reading and occasionally glancing at the docks.
