Trick o' Treat

The doorbell rings,
The laughter sounds,
The children eat,
As they make their rounds.

Chocolate bars,
Candied goods,
Money jingling,
Kids in hoods.

Girls under sheets,
Ghosts with no nose,
Boys dressed as Zombies,
What mask? Who knows?

A horror movie,
Which everyone has seen,
Stills "scares" the parents,
Who pretend to make a scene.

"Oh My!" They say,
Pretend to be frightened,
Then along comes a scientist,
Who is always enlightened...
