The Adventures of Mr Penguin12 and Hoof Noob in: The Curse of the Quest Tag
The midnight's moon gleamed down upon the countryside and illuminated its features with an eerie glow. A cool Autumn breeze blew with a whisper
through the leaves of the fall trees, which rustled and shone dull colors that gave a glimpse of the gold and red leaves of day. The wind died down and
all was still. The boughs of the trees, so soon to be bare and desolate, began to creak, but the world around me was at a stand still. This stillness was
broken, though, as a group of bats flew past me with shrieks that sounded like death itself. It was a foreboding night that followed a very strange day.
You see, I was walking through the streets of the admirable RuneVillage, soon to arrive at the house of my dear friend (and village jester) Hoof Noob.
The moon lit the overgrowth below my feet and I strove not to disrupt the night. Back to where I was, lately my good friend had been acting...
peculiar. It was a sort of a tangible strangeness, a distinct difference that was so obvious you couldn't figure out what it was that had changed. That
day, you see, the village noob had been given (by himself nonetheless) the title of quest.
The quest tag had a dubious connotation at the humble lands of RuneVillage. It's first owner, Applequest, had been one of the original legends to
defend Runevillage on that fateful day. Indeed more legends have come but we never hear of what brave things they'd done to deserve it like the
original legends. Ever since then, Applequest began to rise the levels of power extremely fast.. a bit too fast to be honest.
Hoof Noob and I, more than anything else, love to drift the streets of Varrock hitting on all the women we can (at least we think they're women (and
Hoof sometimes hits on men O.O). I called upon him at his home to hit the street again with shouts of, "My sister wouldn't take me to the prom!!! Hit
333 to go with me!!" To my great surprise Hoof Noob didn't want to come hit on f2pers with me. I was shocked and asked, "OLOLOL this is your
favorite pastime. Why would you pass up an opportunity like this?" His reply was simply, "Naw, mmk?" This greatly troubled me for my good friend
never tried to quote South Park characters, but he nonetheless tried today (and failed miserably).
I went off once again in a sense of awe at what had just happened. I decided to go back to his house at night and see if this had any effect on him, and
that's where I was at this time in the story. I thought to myself as I arrived at his door, which was cast in a eerie light from the moon. Oddly enough his
door was off the hinges and lying in shambles on the ground below. I walked inside his house to find that it was a total mess (although it always is, it
looked like someone had searched it for God knows what). In bright red letters on the wall was written, "You have been chosen!" (without the
exclamation point, I was just throwing it in for effect) I gasped as I leaned closer and noticed that it was written in what looked like blood. I took a
much closer look and noticed that it was instead something far more horrible... ketchup. "Nub <3," I thought to myself as I laughed at this. But the
question still remained: where had Hoof Noob been taken and what was the cryptic meaning of the words sprawled along the wall???
Intermission
I snooped around as any investigative journalist would do searching for clues of his disappearance. As I turned over a paper that lay strewn on the
floor (some stupid plan to get 100 mil exp, what a
idea) I found a sliver of wood...
holy wood. This sliver must have been from a lowercase "T" wooden object, but what was Hoof trying to use it for? Upon further investigation I saw
the remains of a cartridge with a silver bullet (...It was a crossbow as guns hadn't been invented yet... What's a gun?) The wooden lowercase "T," the
silver bolt, what was the meaning of this? I thought to myself as I exited the room. All that night I couldn't sleep and when what seemed like sleep
came crashing over me it brought no rest, but instead made me more tired.
I knew the quest title had something to do with his disappearance, so I went straight to the source, the RuneVillage Headquarters, to find Applequest.
No normal member had ever been inside this exclusive room and we had little idea of what went on in there (rumors of cold chicken, meh?). I though,
being an expert ninja, snuck in through the back door which was left open. What met my eyes as I wandered in will forever burn in my memory as I
learned the truth: ramen! Loads and loads of ramen! How had the ramen gotten there and why were there fuzzy bunnies lying around were questions I
had to leave unanswered as my quest was to find my good friend and relative noob. I heard yells of "OLOLOL noob I won't do it OLOLOL" coming
from a door from the hall.
Bursting through the door I saw the truth at last.
Applequest, the respected admin was leaning over Hoof Noob (while wearing a really hawt cape) and with his fangs were about to suck Hoof's blood!
He was a vampire! This revalation hit me too late as he had turned into a bat and was flying around the room. It was a really good thing that I had taken
those "bat go away lessons" and I soon had the mortal enemy vanquished.
"Noob!" I cried out as I ran towards him. "You're safe now. The curse of the quest tag is over as Apple is now a normal admin and no longer a
vampire. How do you feel?"
"Hit 333 to be my prom date, I'm cexy" was his reply.
I knew I had gotten the old noob back, and throwing my head back in laughter I asked "What now?"
"I don't know," he replied. "I want to get 100 mil exp in fishing."
"My old friend, that's never gonna happen," I exclaimed as we walked off into the sunset.
