The Vault – What’s locked away? |

This month, the RuneVillager team brings you something completely new - an interactive Staff Page! Yes, indeed! Click around the Villager offices as you learn for the first time whose office is where! Not sure whether your favorite Runevillager member is primarily a Writer or Coder? Check the upstairs rooms with the nearby staff listing. Wondering who the Ex-Editors in Chief are? I'm sure their names are around somewhere. And that's it! Have fun! ...Oh, wait, perhaps there's one other thing you might want to know about. Larger than a Staff Page renovation, even. It's called the Vault. The Vault is located upstairs, next door to the Interactives Office. What's in the Vault? Well, that's a secret! Or, it's a secret until you find out, that is. Members of the RuneVillager team randomly throw things into the Vault from time to time, and lock it away with a five-digit number. If you have that number, you can see what's inside! Interested? Or perhaps at this point you have that "o_O" look on your face as you wonder what I'm going on about. Here's an example. Goten and Marik helped me create this month's Spot the Error picture in early August. Unbeknownst to us, Jagex updated the entire user interface of Runescape only a week later! Not willing to settle for the old picture, we created a new one for this month's Spot the Error. What happened to the old one, then? Well, I could easily post a link, showing what could have been. But instead, I turned it into the perfect example of a Vault item--something we worked on, but didn't quite make it into the final publication. Want to see it? The first two numbers are 37. The last three are somewhere else in this issue, though they're really easy to find. Now that you've got a number, how do you enter it? Easy! Just make your way up to the top floor of the Villager offices and click on the black door at the end of the hall. Use the Up and Down arrows to select your five digit number, and then click the orange Confirm button. If you're right, you'll see what's inside the Vault at that location. If not, you've simply entered an invalid code. There's no point in randomly clicking numbers, because there's over 59,000 possibilities! Makes for a good hiding spot, doesn't it? So, what are you waiting for? There's already several entries to the Vault, and more should be coming each month. If you see any five digit numbers floating around, you know what to do! |
