The Villager: An Explanation
By: Gamestar

There is a time and a place for everything. Unfortunately, now is not the time for The Villager. We are not going to disappear, however. This isn't a goodbye message, more a "BRB". We are going to relaunch soon, and we promise that it will be bigger and better than ever.

The Villager has been a part of my RV life since the very beginning. I joined in October 2005, which means that at the time our newspaper was split into two; The Villager and The Newspaper, run by Trendyhaz, Frogger, Poison333 and zOnE_AnT, Frogger, Petrenks and Frank respectively. I joined as a coder and helped out wherever I could. After a few months, 5 to be exact, the papers had merged; creating The Villager, run by Trendyhaz, Frogger, Poison333, Petrenks and Monk Basher. Well, that was to change as that month Frogger decided that he couldn't continue working, and asked me to take over his position of Head of HTML and Web design, which really kick-started my Runevillage career. We had some fun, throwing ideas and insults at Trendyhaz, and we saw many members come and go. I even got my beloved Staff Rank from this position.

Then fifteen months down the line (bloody hell, that's long) Trendyhaz decided that he had to step down. This was a sad day, as we had all grown to associate The Villager with Trendy, and I had grown to admire him, and to see him go was saddening. But we quickly got our ideas together, and we had a job to do after all. We released issue after issue, people changing positions and ideas coming and going... But then something changed...

You see, The Villager offices are lacking activity right now. The year old yoghurt is starting to grow legs, and the smell from GCSE and Zilla's room is getting a little too pungent. So we are cleaning out our old offices and starting fresh.
We are going to knock everything down to the skin and bones and then grind the bones for soup, and use the skin for clothing. Basically; we are going to redesign.
Each area will have someone of expertise, and will be much more interactive.
You will have to believe me when I say that we have a lot in store for you when we come back, so watch this space.

So, until then: Thanks for Reading! We'll see you all soon.
