An Interview With: Donut Juice
By: ~Paws~

1. What is your birth name and your age according to your birth certificate?
My birth name is "Christian", as those of you who I have added on MSN will see. My age? I'll choose to ignore this question, you will never know.

2. When did you first join the village and how did you find out about it?
I first joined in February of 2006, quite late compared to most people here, unfortunately.

I learned of this spectacular place first from a long-time Runescape friend, Janxx. We were doing the 2005 Christmas Holiday Event together, and we were quite stuck at the time. He eventually managed to find Runevillage's guide, written by Jenny if I remember correctly. He then gave me directions on how to find the guide, I even questioned why it was called The Pub, ha-ha. I finally found Jenny's terrific guide, which seems so long ago.

Though, I didn't register, I read the guide and went on my merry way, for whatever reason I didn't feel interested in joining.

A couple weeks later, I was browsing Runescape Community, and I remember seeing Andrey post his gallery of Runescape fakes there, and he noted that he won first place at Runevillage with them. The name sounded familiar, so I went back to the site, looked around, and registered. All in all, you have Andrey to thank/slaughter for me being here.

But, I still wasn't exactly a member here. At the time I naively thought Jagex banned players who joined foreign forums, that weren't their own. So, I browsed, but accumulated only several dozen posts in half a year. After awhile, I started noticing the large number of Player Moderators on the forums, so I noticed that it had to be a rumour, and that's when I started posting around November 2006.

3. So, how has your time here been?
Words don't describe, I've had an incredible, incredible time here. If I wasn't enjoying myself enough, I thought I'd start helping around the site maintenance part of the forums, and less than a month later something ridiculous happened that I never would have imagined - Mustangnut offered me Forum Moderator. Since then, this place has always been a smiling home, with friends that I'll never forget.

4. When did you first get involved in the staff side of things and what made you want to do it?
Um, I believe it was around March of 2007, and my first group was, coincidentally, The Villager under the reign of Gamestar. I started helping out because this site was such fun, and I felt I almost had to give back to it. My parents wouldn't allow me to donate, so that was out of the question, I then turned to the staff side of things, and haven't looked back since.

5. This being a runescape fansite you must have played runescape sometime, do you still play or have you quit?
Well, I haven't played actively since summer, as I've been busy since school started. But, when I do have time I greatly enjoy it, and I doubt I'll quit for some time soon. I do take fairly frequent breaks, though.

6. What would you say is your favourite forum?
Hmm, I'm not sure I know. Just about all the Mod/Admin Forums are a lot of fun, just for the camaraderie, as are the Site Maintenance forums for the same reason. But, General Chat holds a special place in my heart, as it's where a fair deal of my worldly news knowledge comes from, especially from our whacky news reporter, Gamestar. (Don't ever stop!)

7. Have you made any good friends while being here?
Saying "yes" would be one of the largest understatements I've ever made. I would name several, but I've made so many that I wouldn't want to leave out the few that slipped my mind. I do wish some would return though.

8. What do you find most enjoyable about RV?
I recently rediscovered my love for Chat, which is always fun. Though I love writing guides for Runevillage, participating in discussions, and laughing with friends. One of the reasons I love Runevillage so much is that there isn't simply one factor that draws me to it, there's so gosh darn many.
.

9. How is life with a blue name different to that with a normal?
It's not too different. I already had FTP Access before my promotion, so it's nothing mind blazingly different. But I never liked the purple name (yes, I admit it) so this is a nice change. Plus, name changes and the rest of the ACP are kind of cool.

10. Do you prefer to have all the extra responsibility?
Definitely. I wouldn't have it any other way.

11. If given the chance, would you take up a future roll of staff mod/admin?
Um. I have, but for those of you considering it, it's a world of fun and I'd definitely recommend it if you're ever given the opportunity. It's been a great deal of fun.
