Naruto Arrives in the US and Canada

One of the hottest anime and manga series in Japan has finally been scheduled to debut across thousands of TV sets in America and Canada. That series is none other than the mega hit Naruto, which has previously only been available by the monthly magazine Shonen Jump. The anime is based solely off the original manga (comic) and each episode is approximately 30 minutes. The story follows the adventures of a young shinobi graduate Uzumaki Naruto, along with his teammates Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke, who undertake missions in hopes of becoming full fledged shinobi. Through his adventures, Naruto and his teammates will learn what true friendship, courage, bravery, and hard work is all about, as they undertake the missions that will determine their progress as a shinobi.

I won't go into anything more, as I'd hate to spoil this great series. Of course, there has been some controversy over the show coming to the US and Canada. Some fans of the original manga and anime from Japan have expressed their complaints and concerns about the dubbing of the show though. Although there hasn't been any reports on what may be or may not be cut in the imported version, fans have their feelings set that it will be edited horribly, and their favorite series will be a toned down to a kiddy friendly status. Anyone who has read Naruto before or watched the foreign TV series will know that this series is intended for viewers 13+.

There is a considerable amount of violence, with lots of bloodshed, and there is the occasional swearing. The series will premiere on Cartoon Network's Toonami, September 10th (on YTV September 16). A full season of episodes has been reportedly been bought to see how well it will fare and more to come if it is successful.
