Predator Part 2

Joey stared his screen down for a few seconds. "My worst nightmare? You don't even know me."

"Don't be so sure," Uehara replied. Joey didn't think much of it at the time. He logged onto his clan forums and made a topic informing his friends that he was grounded. "Your mother is pulling in the driveway. See you soon," Uehara logged off.

Joey heard the door open downstairs. "I wonder how he knew that?" he said to himself. He logged off his computer and laid on his bed. He raised his head slightly as his mother opened the door. "I got you a bag of potato chips at the store," she said, tossing the bag towards Joey. "Thanks." He relaxed his head on his pillow and eventually fell asleep.

Joey woke up to the sound of his alarm clock. The bag of chips had fallen to the floor. He picked them up and lay them on his desk before showering. "Bye Mom," he said on his way out the door. It was a cold morning. He zipped up his sweater and buried his hands in his pockets to shield them from the cold.

Fifteen minutes later he arrived at his first period history class, cold and dripping. As he sat in his desk he noticed a piece of paper with his name on it crammed in between his desk and the one to his left. He took it out. "I sure hope nothing happens to your mother while you're here. - Uehara." Frantic, Joey got up and ran towards the door, dropping the note in the garbage as he left.

Wary of danger, Joey slowly walked up the steps to his house, peeking inside before he opened the door. "MOM" Joey screamed. "Yes?" Joey's mom emerged from the living room. "Never mind, I just forgot my homework upstairs." He went up to his room and picked up an old piece of paper, just to get past his mom without her becoming suspicious.

He walked back to school very slowly, wondering what Uehara wanted with him. Dripping and frozen, he entered his history class once more, apologizing to the teacher. He went back to his desk and saw another note. There was an address on it with a picture of a girl who he had seen in the local newspaper. She had been missing for three weeks. He stuffed the piece of paper in his pocket, frantically thinking about what to do.
