May 18th -- SubZero. Going hand to frozen hand with none other than Gotham City’s mysterious superhero, Batman. Flying through the skies, batarangs whizzing in every direction and, wow! Even a mid-air counter technique! Sounds good, doesn’t it? Midway, creators of the Mortal Kombat series, have whipped up a brand new era of Mortal Kombat games by pitting their roster against the heroes and villains of the DC Universe - but there is a price to pay.

A newly surfaced rumor tells that DC comics do not want any fatalities in the game, creating a massive handicap for a franchise that has built its series on the most brutal finishers of all time.

But it’s not all bad. Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe will feature amazing wear and tear - costumes get damaged and your character gets more bruised as the fight progresses. This means that you will see the likes of Superman getting his skintight tights torn to pieces and his boyish face beaten to a pulp as he is forced through a solid brick wall by SubZero.

There’s also the new in-air combat system, allowing you to perform flips and punches mid-air to get that extra advantage.

Mortal Kombat’s roster comes fully equipped with all of the specialty moves that you have come to expect - Skorpion’s spear, SubZero’s ice, etc. Fortunately, so has the DC team. We can expect the likes of batarangs, laser eyes, and magical whips, among others. Looking at the sheer size of the DC Universe there could be some amazing character additions. This reporter is bagging on Batman, Robin, Superman, the Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman topping the list.
