With the release of George Lucas's final installment of his epic saga, Revenge of the Sith, it has many people left wondering what is next for the legendary saga. Is this the end? Will we see no more stories from that galaxy far, far away? Fans will be pleased to know that this is no where near the end of this epic saga, as Lucas has revealed his plans for the future of Star Wars. Many times already, Lucas has confirmed that evenge of the Sith will indeed be his last Star Wars movie, but that doesn't mean it ends there.

Lucas has announced two TV series that he will be involved in and will be releasing these next few years. The first one to be produced, a complete 3D animated Clone Wars series, which is similar to the animated Clone Wars cartoon produced by Genndy Tartakovsky seen on the Cartoon Network. Each episode will be approximately 30 minutes long and feature new adventures set during the Clone Wars period between the movies Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Lucas's other TV series will be a live-action show, set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It will feature various minor characters, and each episode will be 1 hour long. 100 episodes have already been confirmed and ideas for the series will start being discussed after an August break.

Lucas has also stated he hopes to release all six movies in fully rendered 3D quality, starting with The Phantom Menace as early as 2007. With all these shows, one must not forget the other Star Wars media like the games, books, and comics. Upcoming games include the PC game Empire at War and the highly anticipated, multi-platform game Star Wars Battlefront II. The books have always been fan favorites as well, so be on the lookout for "Dark Lord", due out November 22, 2005, written by James Luceno, which describes Darth Vader's adventures after Revenge of the Sith. For over 28 years now, Star Wars has remained strong in its popular stance, and with all these releases, it will definetely live on to new generations. The movies were just the beginning, as we've all just taken our first step into a much larger universe indeed.
