The Longest Yard (2005)
Starring: Adam Sandler, Burt Reynolds, Chris Rock, James Cromwell, William Fichtner
Directed by Peter Segal
The Longest Yard is a hardcore sports and drama packed film with one-liners and comic set pieces. The pace is swift with jokes that match almost every scene and the football games that are simply magnificent.
A true comedy about a pro quarterback Paul Crewe (played by Sandler), and former college champion Nate Scarborough (played by Reynolds), who are doing some time in the same prison. When Crewe is asked to put together a team of inmates to take on the guards, he recruits the help of Scarborough to coach the inmates to victory in a football game that no inmate would refuse to play in.
This movie is rated PG-13. It contains crude and sexual humour, violence, language, and drug references.
Out of a 5 star rating, I would give this movie 3 and a half. In my opinion, the original was better, but personally, I’m a sucker for Sandler movies.
