An Interview With Doodle

Hello there everybody and welcome to the interview that goes deep inside the warped mind of a very loyal Villager who has done his fair share in the development of the Village. This warped mind is none other than Doodle. Please note that Doodle eats his pickles separately from his cheeseburgers.


Alright, first question. What is your birth name and your age according to your birth certificate?

Lol. Call me Ishmael - just kidding. My real life name is David, and my D.O.B. is 3/31/90... hold on... let me grab you my Social Security Number while I'm at it....

Lol, you're a comedian. Now, how long have you been a Villager?

Err… a long time. I think I'm in the 300s for members… I'm not sure. I signed up on RV back in classic before the RS official forums were around. Places like RV were the 'hot places' to sell stuff.

Wow. You’re an old timer. Where did you come up with the username Doodlepieguy?

I nicked it off a friend who was using it as a real life nickname in 5th grade. Not even joking.

Haha. Never would've expected that. When you first got the PM asking to be a moderator, what were your feelings and what forums were you originally assigned?

Well I was pleasantly surprised and I still am. I feel like there have been a ton of people who have cared more about the Village than what I displayed, who have never been offered the job. I was originally given PvP and Village Square. I had no interest in Village Square, and whenever I did something in there I'd usually get over ruled… so I ended up dropping that forum, and picked up Picture Palace. I was also given PvP, where there were very few and inactive mods, so I decided I'd do my best to be a fair and active mod who was on friendly terms with the PvP community - so I decided the best way to do that would to be to PK myself. That way I could connect with them over something. Initially though no interest, I was like Jaron when he modded that forum. Haha.

Haha. Ah so that's how your PKing "career" began.

Yeah .

Now it seems that the recent updates Jagex has made are quite controversial and you have voiced your opinions in the Field of Death forums on your personal gallery. How do you think Jagex will try and redeem themselves?

Well, time heals all. So with enough time and people working on it, I'm sure Jagex will be able to work out a fun alternative, but it will not be the same alternative - and people are quitting already. I see this whole 'waiting game' people are going through as a waste of time. Perhaps an implication of weak character… if they are enraged, people shouldn't just 'try to deal'. This is RuneScape after all - it's just a game. If they can't leave no matter what Jagex does, don't they sort of feel like a slave to the game?

It’s quite obvious that you’ve quit RuneScape and there’s evidence that you will be making a farewell PK video. What are your feelings on this project?

It's going to blow everyone at RV out of the water. It will be the best edited video to ever grace RV… and I think if it had been released a bit sooner it could have been lauded by better known critics as an instant classic. For anyone who's familiar with my first two videos, the first one connected on a more emotional level, whereas the second was more straightforward. This video will have a mix of both - it will connect on an emotional level, as it is my farewell gift to my friends and fans, but I also made a choice that I wasn't sure about, but ended up being a very wise one. I bankrupted myself in the making of this video, so it has me PKing with no regrets (this doesn't mean no honor!). The footage is fantastic, if a bit difficult to believe, with piety. I don’t feel as great as I have in the past, and wish I had had more time and more cool stuff to share, but it currently stands at around 20 kills, and I also have a lot of non-PKing achievements to share as well as some clips from the doodle vault which will be sure to raise a few eyebrows.

Egg for sure. I mean, the chicken evolved from some other type of bird…but that bird was there first. And where did that bird come from? An egg, unless you're Mike Huckabee, and don't believe in evolution.

Lol. What defines a muffin from a cup cake? A muffin has goodness inside?

Muffins are generally plain while cup cupcakes have icing and all the other fun stuff.

Lol and sprinkles, can’t forget the sprinkles.

Lol. Alright, what do you find your eardrums vibrating to the sounds of lately?

I'm currently exploring the back catalogs of Opeth. It's umm.... Mellow Death/ Progressive Rock if anyone is into that. Kinda free form… there will be none in the video… too unstructured but interesting nonetheless.
