| Sweat dripping down from your forehead, muscles aching, you think about running to the bank to grab some lobsters. NO! Running to a safe corner to hide, you rub your slayer gem. A faint voice says, "1 more left"... Your hear a sort of scuttling sound behind you, and spin around to find yourself face to face with an abyssal demon. You crack a small evil smile before taking the first slash at the monster whose father dropped the whip you currently wielded only minutes earlier. The demon screams in pain and falls to the floor. You think you have slain the beast, but when you peer over the demon, it rises to its and takes a swipe at your neck. As you stumble backwards, blood starts running down your neck, down your armor, and onto the floor. Vision blurring, you start to tumble backwards. As you lose your footing, something touches the back of your head and lowers you down gently. Could it be more demons? Are they going to share your corpse between the family? Questions run through your mind for the next few seconds, until somebody pours a foul smelling potion down your neck. Suddenly, you start regaining consciousness. Squinting your eyes, you see several demons get turned into a block of ice. Two thoughts go through your mind. Either you're dead and this is some kind of hell, or you're dreaming. You start to drift back into unconsciousness... You're going.... You're going... You're gone... You wake up to the sound of snarling and screams. Someone whispers in your ear, "Don't worry, you're safe here. They can't get to you". You manage to pull yourself onto a chair. Looking around, you realize you're in Canifis. But something was still fishy about this situation. Who on earth were those two strangers who brought you back here? Suddenly, the men walk over to your table with three Asgarnian Ales. They sit down and tell you to drink up. After chatting for a while, they tell you that their names are Hiker and Henner and introduce you to a fansite called RuneVillage. You end up logging on to this "Runevillage" and eventually join a user group named "The Villager Editorial Office". After a few words with somebody named Gamestar you end up writing an article about demons and two strangers. |
