| It was a dreary Wednesday evening. The wind was blowing outside, the blinds flapping about. Owls were hooting in the distant mist. H K sat at home, like every other Wednesday. His parents were out at a friend's house. While H K was browsing RuneVillage, he clicked on the Editorial Office forum. When he scrolled down the page, he came across a thread he'd hoped never to see... "ACTIVITY CHECK". As he frantically clicked the link, his computer started to freeze up. It couldn't take the strain. The mouse refused to move. There was a loud click and the computer crashed. As poor H K begged his computer to turn back on again, all he could think about was the activity check. Had he missed it? Had it only just been posted? Gah! Why wasn't he more active? The computer finally turned on. H K quickly loaded up Internet Explorer 8 and found his way back to the activity check... A tremendous sigh of relief issued up out of H K. It turns out he had already posted in the activity check right at the very start of the thread. Others may not have been so lucky though. In another house, in another country, Gamestar began to move in on the smite button. As he erases and cleanses the usergroup, faint screams can be heard from the former members of the Villager Editorial Office as they are dropped down into the depths of hell (or Gamestar's sock drawer, whichever you prefer). |
