15 Things Not To Do During Exam Season

Well it's that time again. The time of the year where students scramble in a flurry of pencil and paper. That's right, exam time! We all have had them at one point in time. Counting down to the most important rule for taking exams, here are the 15 things not to do during exam week!

  • Do not get inebriated before your exam. It is not a good thing and can make it quite hard to concentrate.

  • Do not take your exam without pants on. No matter how relaxing the breeze is, it won't help.

  • Don't cram 2 hours before your exam. The brain only works for about 30 minutes at a time before it shuts down. Study in 30 minute intervals and with frequent breaks.

  • Do not recreate the Rocky Mountains out of books at your local library. It may be fun, but you are risking an avalanche, and loud sirens are not permitted in libraries.

  • Do not study for a subject that you are not currently taking.

  • Do not study with the television on or music playing. It is hard for your brain to remember things when it is distracted by such luxuries.

  • Do not get too comfortable while studying because you may just fall asleep. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience.

  • Do not study late at night. See #9 for reasoning.

  • Do not blow off studying for parties.

  • Don't go to the wrong exam room.

  • Don't stress over your exam. Too much time is taken stressing over an exam. Think of it as just a test and just make sure you know your stuff.

  • Do not light your study notes on fire before your exam. The consequences far outweigh the enjoyment.

  • Do not skip your exam to play video games. Most schools won't let you pass a class unless you've completed the exam.

  • Do not go into the exam thinking you are going to fail. Positive thinking is half of the battle.

  • Don't write articles for the Villager instead of studying.
