Woodcutting. RuneScape's pass time. Woodcutting is slowly taking Runescape, one lumberjack at a time. Who can recist cutting down trees for money? *looks at all the people raising their hands* Umm…moving on…hehe…

Well we know that the Village is full of accomplished woodcutters. Matt258 is a n00b at this, but we love him. He currently resides at a disappointing #2 spot on the high scores. Volcom89 is another nubert at cutting, ranking #11. Dark blade48, Mattis and Yippekyaa all appear on the high scores as well. The woodcutting bug is taking over the world!!

Why do people do it? People say woodcutting is an easy stat to raise, so there's no point in raising it. They say there is no accomplishment in high woodcutting. How they are wrong! While woodcutting might not be as hard as other stats, such as prayer, crafting and agility, look at the numbers. A mere 50 people have 99 woodcut! Only Prayer, Mining, Herblore and Agility have LESS people with 99 in that stat (not including runecrafting)!! So something must cause people to have a hitch in the road…

The problem is patience. While fishing, it's interesting as there are many people to talk to in the few spots, and there's no need to move. Mining, there are plenty of rocks to share. Woodcutting, the best way to train is by yourself, and that gets boring. Believe me!
The main reason people woodcut is for money, and for friends. I've made many friends because of my bribing skills…ummm…woodcut skills…..I've met Matt258 a great Village Legend, Philipj, another great person, Mattis, 89noname among others! Woodcut is something that people can have in common. Also woodcut is a good source of cash, if you know who to sell to and where to sell it.
Woodcutting is easy. All you need is a hatchet, a tree and a pocketful of dreams! You can reach high places, meet great people and make a buck or two on the way! Woodcutting is what grows people together.
