Well considering Top isn't taking a very "leadership" role in a time where leadership is necessary considering how divided and confused the village is... That strikes me as he benefits from the confusion. Top is definitely someone who "takes charge" in these kinds of games. Which is why he is also a very good player because people are willing to listen to him and his calls are good.

Top's vote of Jack was interesting too... It was just too safe. I don't buy it. He's sitting around and rolefishing to see what he can get away with... Which I recall the last time Top just rolefished around he flipped mafia in the end.

Perhaps I am not giving Top enough credit... We'll see in the end. If I remade my mafiality chart he set the scale on the far right. Vote stands. If I make sense, I hope you all follow.

I'm always with ya Frank. In fact I think that if Aragorn's not the Doctor, Top is.

That being said I can't move either. It's nighttime IRL and the likelihood of getting all four people to switch in under 14 hours is less than the likelihood of Jack actually placing a vote. I hope you understand, buddy!

Why would I hammer Aragorn when I haven't seen anything from him that suggests he's mafia? If anything the speed the train picked up on him should be the troubling thing.

You could make the case we learn from his lynch, but I think we learn almost as much from an almost-lynch at the tradeoff of not throwing away a body. I'd rather lynch people who are actually being suspicious like Sparky or Jack, sorry!

As a note, I'm fairly certain I've figured out why Jaron suspects Aragorn, and it's likely the exact same meta reason I suspected him in the previous game.

Sorry, Aragorn. Your habits and the suggestion of your partner have lead to your acquittal twice.

Though, you're not doing anything with your try clause there, which makes it rather pointless. Here, allow me:
try {
  pyroSurvivesToDayThree();
} catch (PyroDiesNightThreeException e) {
  blameFrank();
} finally {
  // Happens either way due to the inevitability of death
  mournPyro();
}

The neighborhood stopped talking and looked up to see Spirographed pointing at them, one by one, as they heard the rhyme, "Eenie meenie minie moe. Catch a killer by the toe. If they holler, won't let them go. Eenie...meenie....minie.....moe." He held his index finger and gaze on Sparky as the same finger on the opposite hand pushed the button that opened the panel, which revealed the gun, that recoiled with a shot, that sent a bullet to Sparky's skull. Market Man scurried out of his vehicle with two armed guards, held some sort of machine up to Sparky's unblinking eyes and waited a second. He looked up at Spirographed and shook his head.

"Oh, don't look so surprised, West Roseland. You have done nothing...again."
His voice rose, "SOME NEWS FOR YOU: I AM the killer's target, but I WILL NOT be killed! Don't you get it?! IF YOU ALL HAVE TO DIE, then SO BE IT!"

Market Man joined him, but his body language was unsupportive. He looked down, ashamed. He was startled as Spirographed turned to him and with the PA still on said, "I think one of these little snitches had a good idea last night. Take the reigns for a bit, Market Man. I have something to...attend to. If they don't come to an agreement tomorrow, you know what to do." He turned to the gathered citizens and screamed, "YOU HEAR ME?! HE KNOWS WHAT TO DO!" He got into another vehicle and sped off.

Market Man leaned forward and said, "Uh...guys, just take a break for the night, and tomorrow we'll get this all sorted out."

The citizens looked up in anger and defiance. One by one, they put their heads down and walked away.

Sparky - Citizen Eenie Meenie Minie Moe Mod-Killed Day 2.

*Ahem* Market Man cleared his throat, turned on the PA and addressed the gathered citizens.
"Well, I'm...I'm sorry to say that...You see, there, uh...is a..."
He inhales slowly and gathers his thoughts. He exhales sharply.
"As you can see, one of us...I...I mean...One of you is missing."
He paused again, but this time he seemed to be making a decision.
"Well, I guess there's no use keeping this hidden. I'm not Spirographed. I don't believe in need-to-know basis when it comes to the lives of others.
We had a Pre-Crime Detective with you. As safe as the Pre-Crime Division has made this city, unfortunately, we can't stop 'em all. The call from HQ came too late. When we went to check Topsummoner's apartment, it was just...too late. There...there was...blood everywhere. Multiple bullet holes. Some way to go...
I was going to go easy on you guys today, but I've decided that Spirographed's stance stands. You gotta lynch someone today. We just have to find Spirographed's would be killer, 'specially now that we think the same person killed Top.
He didn't leave any clues. Just do your best, I guess."

He turned around and wept, for his friend.

Topsummoner - Pre-Crime Detective Killed Night Two

...What?

Well, maybe that explains why Top didn't want to lynch Aragorn.

Or maybe it explains why he wanted to lynch me.

Or maybe it doesn't mean a damn thing.

1. Aragorn - Top refused to kill (possibly known innocent)
4. Pyro - Top voted for (possibly known murderer)
5. Jack
6. Jaron
7. Monk - Survived night attack (proven innocent)
8. Frank

5 people... if we screw this up tonight we lose the game unless there's only one killer (maybe not even that and this whole thing is a ruse?)

I'm going to say we don't kill Aragorn because Top's behavior leads me to believe he could be innocent.

Jaron has been... too helpful really to look suspicious now.

Jack has been relatively quiet.

I guess my picks right now are Jack and Frank with Jack as the most suspicious. He gave a day comment just to not get mod killed. He didn't help matters at all, and as I said before it seemed like behavior of someone that likely has a night role. The detective is dead. So that leaves doctor and mafia as our remaining night roles if this is at all normal.

So, I'm going with Jackstick. At this point Jackstick and Frank are the most likely, but Aragorn isn't really PROVEN innocent.

I'm also thinking that Sparky was killed simply because we didn't secure a lynch. Even if that wasn't the case this is a definite lynch or lose situation.

...Wow! If Spiro's willing to kill all the innocent people for me, I might as well just...not vote! Ever! Sure, it was random, but you automatically have a higher chance of randomly picking a Villager over a Mafioso simply by the rule of if that weren't true, the game would already be over. Worth the risk IMO!

I think we all knew that was coming. Not the randomly-killing-Sparky part, but the Spiro's-going-to-off-someone part. No host modkills Day 1 without giving a warning, and the flavor text was quite clear. I even pointed that out earlier with respect to Jack.
Topsummoner wrote:

I also don't believe this is Top's normal playstyle.

Which means the only reason Top would sensibly refuse to kill someone is if he knew they weren't Mafia. (*points to self/Frank* *does Obama "wtf" handwave*)
Top and I have discussed at length how I think the Village refusing to come together on a lynch is the Mafia's greatest weapon (thanks bro) so that most likely means I was right all along and Aragorn IS the Doctor! Don't worry buddy, I'll get you tonight.

For now I'm totally down on a Jackstick lynch if that's the direction this goes. Even though he's my aforementioned greatest weapon, I have a bone to pick with that guy from a previous game.

Not going to vote yet though, if even at all. I'm 100% serious about the whole "Mafia has no reason to vote now" thing.

Seven remain? If we don't see that change, we must assume Spiro has entered the game.

Also at this point since Jaron's not a detective, he's either our doctor or he's mafia at this point. I don't know about you guys, but how embarrassing would it be to have the victorious mafia be out this whole time?

That does seem to the be case... I went to consult the sign-up screen and the game suggested multiple mafiosos. I suppose with this new set up we might only have one mafioso to deal with. The flavor text has mentioned *the* killer. However, since we seem to have a 'lynch or I will randomly kill someone' clause there isn't a point in not lynching.

I would just assume Spiro typo'ed.

Market Man sighed as he looked up and saw them carrying a body. He stood up and turned on the PA.
"That didn't take long...hold him up. Let's take a look."
He and two armed guards came out of the vehicle. He noticed ligature marks on Saten Ruiko and cringed. He held a retinal scanner up to Saten Ruiko's eyes. When it beeped he nodded at one of the guards, who ran off in the direction of Saten's apartment.
"Welp..." Market Man started, "it's a negative. He's ain't the killer. The guard's checking Saten's apartment for any clues. It's possible he's an accomplice."
His hand rose to his head as his earpiece chirped.
"Yeah?"
...
...
He sighed and dropped his head.
"Ten-Four," he responded.
"No-go, guys. Take the night off to pray for a miracle. You're going to need it..."
Spirographed's vehicle pulled up just as they left. He got out, eyed the body and smiled at Market Man.
"Good! I'm not the only one putting in work around here for once!" he exclaimed.
"No, it isn't good, man! He wasn't involved! Who's side are you on, anyway?!" Market Man yelled.
Spirographed's smile stayed as he stared at Market Man and simply said, "MY. SIDE." and walked away.

Saten Ruiko - Citizen Lynched Day 3.

"Who is missing?"Spirographed asked as only four citizens gathered that morning.
Jackstick piped up, smiling, "Pyro3000."
"Well, go get him." Spirographed replied.
"No need."
"Well, OUT WITH IT! WHY NOT? ENLIGHTEN US," Spirographed yelled, impatiently.
"Because last night, I sent my Saboteur, Aragorn to kill him" Jackstick, the Godfather revealed.
Before Spirographed could reply, Jackstick and Aragorn pulled their guns and held them up to Frank 4.0.1 and Sighence's heads, using their bodies as a shield.
"What now? I know who you are, Spirographed, and that's why I've been planning to kill you."
"Well, well, well. We finally meet. It's been a long time coming. So, what, you can't handle a little competition? You see the connections and padding I have, and are worried your empire will crumble? I can't blame you. You're done. Finished. I'm the new king in town. Go ahead and kill those fools. They couldn't find you, even with how obvious you were. They're worthless, and now, so you will be too..."
Spirographed smashed the button that opened the panels, which revealed the guns, that recoiled with shots, that sent the bullets to Jackstick and Aragorn's skulls.

Four lay. Shot dead. Before their departure, Jackstick and Aragorn had pulled their triggers.

There was a new king in town.

Pyro3000 - Citizen Killed Night Three
Frank 4.0.1 - Citizen Killed Day Four
Sighence - Underground Surgeon Killed Day Four

GAME OVER. MAFIA WIN

Role PMs:

Aragorn, you are the mafia's Saboteur. In 2808, organized crime has become much harder to commit since the police developed the Pre-Crime division. Pre-Crime detects a future murderer within one city block, and they've narrowed it to yours. One Godfather stands in the way of your Godfather, Jackstick's monopoly on the distribution of illegal evasive technology. Jackstick has hatched a plan to kill the rival Godfather, however, Pre-Crime detects a future murderer within one city block, and they've narrowed it to yours...

Abilities:
Each night phase, you may block the night actions of another player. Additionally, you may execute the night's kill.

Win condition:
You win when the number of mafia equal or exceed those that are innocent and after the truth.

With your plan to kill the rival Godfather comes a catch: Pre-Crime detects a future murderer within one city block, and they've narrowed it to yours...

Abilities:
Each night phase, you may kill one member of the Town.
You may choose to send your Saboteur, Aragorn to execute the kill.
You've had retinal surgery. You're identity will be hidden from Pre-Crime eye-scans.

Win condition:
You win when the number of mafia equal or exceed those that are innocent and after the truth.

Topsummoner, you are the Pre-Crime Detective. In 2808, crime has become much harder to commit since your agency developed the Pre-Crime division. It hasn't eliminated it, however, and you've got a lead on a murder. Your division has detected future murderer or murderers are within the worst city block in town. You've made arrests here often and everyone's a suspect...

Abilities:
Each night phase, you may investigate a suspect using your retina scanner to see if they are a match and are involved in the murder.

Win condition:
You win when the murder or murderers are eliminated.

Monk, you are the Underground Surgeon. In 2808, crime has become much harder to commit since the police developed the Pre-Crime division. It hasn't been eliminated, however, and you make your living by helping people get around the only way Pre-Crime can identify a would-be criminal: retinal scans. You've performed more eye transplants than you have gotten your haircut, but never again for a murderer...not since the death of your wife. One of your patients has just informed you that suspicions are flying all around the neighborhood your underground office is located at. Someone will try committing a murder. The question is, who?

Abilities:
Each night phase, you may attempt to protect one player in the game from being night-killed.

[Everyone else], you are a Citizen. In 2808, crime has become much harder to commit since the police developed the Pre-Crime division. It hasn't been eliminated, however, and you get by in whatever way you can, but never by murder. You aren't THAT bad of a guy...

You win when the murder or murderers are eliminated.
