Members of Runevillage,

As you may know, the past year has seen a lot of behind the scenes work on a new site, Runevillage 2.0. We are all very excited, and it is nearly ready. However with this change, we feel it is time Runevillage was given a fresh start. Just as there was big change in RuneScape on the release of RS2, we feel that there should be big change on the release of "RV2". We feel that every user should be given a chance to prove themselves. It is therefore our decision to revoke powers of all Board Moderators, Forum Moderators, Chat Moderators, Legends and Staff. We as an administration team feel that there are far too many team members for the website to be run effectively, and it really doesn't make sense to have more staff members than needed. Many of you newly-dethroned moderators will likely regain your powers, but we need to see just who is dedicated to preserving a well-maintained forum out of everyone, including normal members. To make sure we don't repeat the staff coverage problem, we will have a team of 10 Board Moderators, 20 Forum Moderators, and 10 Chat Moderators. Staff and new Legends will be decided at a later date.

Thanks,

The Administration team.

My my, you've certainly spat your dummy out.

I guess it's goodbye then, King.

Perhaps while you're gone you'll learn how to take things like a man.

I know this will be a tough transition for some of you folk...but it's a move I think we had to make for the good of RV. There'll be some short-term pain as some of you reaccustome yourselves to your loss of powers, but in the end we'll have a leaner and better RV for all to enjoy. And in the end, that's what counts.

Just incase anyone wonder, as Hiker didn't include this in his post, Henner is the only one who can change Chat mod permissions, so they're keeping their powers until Henner can get onto that for us.

This is going to be a big change for RV, but like Hiker said, a lot of the mods could earn their ranks back anyway. We hope this'll encourage other to join in in the community aswell.

That's actually pretty unfair, people actually earned their ranks.

I lasted like, what...two months D:

Does that mean the same legends might get their powers back?

I hope so.

I'm still partially against this, but I guess in the long term this could indeed improve efficiency here on RuneVillage.
I wonder how this will unfold in the end though.

@The123king: please have more patience :( We can't afford to lose you :(

To be honest, thats a fair decision..
Gives more people a chance to earn themselves a place on the runevillage team that wern't around at the start or havn't had chance to prove themselves before. In my eyes thats a good decision by all of the adminstration team.

To anyone who sees this to be unfair and what not...

New things come with new changes.

Deal with it.

Wtf?!! I come in rv cc and someone tells me I lost my rank. I think "oh yeah, funny guy."

Seems I am no longer a mod on RuneVillage. I mean the only reason I stayed at this dump was to boss around people. Might as well leave now.

Cya around, Apey was right... this place sucks.

I don't see why people are suddenly running away....
It seems like the only reason some people want to be a mod is to boss people around and to look "big", if you were actually at this site to join a runescape community you would not mind if you were or were not a moderator etc. It doesn't really matter, either way you helped this community at one point or another we all have.
My advice is to just sit back and wait, hiker has already said in that post that some of the old moderators will be moderators once again. Shouting your mouths off and saying your leaving isn't solving anything and thats no way to earn your position back in anyones eyes.

Wow this is outrageous! How can you take away people's positions that many have had for years in one swell swoop? This disgusts me, even though I'm not a mod/legend/staff.

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.
