wussap y'all! my girlfriend and I started playing RS again. RS Oldschool atleast. not gunna lie i miss runescape classic a whole lot. maybe even to an unhealthy extent. didn't expect to be met with a fair amount of grief over it. and i havent found any closure either. such is life.

Popped in for fun to see what was left of the community. Joined almost 16 years ago now, man time flies.
I still play the 'scape on F2P, or P2P if there's a free week offer on Twitch. Currently maxing my F2P skills. I also blame y'all for getting me into GW back in the day.
No idea why but I will always remember The Village Show, specifically the episode where Mogo (and others) opened with "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts"

I don't want to get things twisted. This is not about CHANGING things. It's not about bringing RV back in the capacity it once was. It's about making a mature, sensible and thoughtful decision to put RV back on the map in a way that reflects how things are today. It's both homage to the past and also recognition that times are changing and if we are to all keep up with the distance that time brings, we have to do it in a way that unites everything together. Websites have always been a way to do that, even if it's just reference to certain information that otherwise might be difficult to find elsewhere or perhaps you'd have to do more work to seek out. I don't think relying solely on the forums to stay open forever and for people to instinctively know how or where to find people is a good idea. Maybe that's partly down to why so few remain? Because it's a mine field working out just what RV is anymore and where it's at.
It's about making RV more accessible in a universal way relevant to today's world. It makes sense doing things this way as we cannot expect to remain stuck in the early 00's and for those foundations to guarantee survival even in the most basic sense.
I was compelled both by the advice of still serving staff members (albeit in now a retired/relaxed capacity) and by myself to post this here so that everybody can chime in and get their thoughts across.
It seems perhaps a good idea might be to start discourse on what people expect and what people want and whether seeing RV living in some capacity other than the current reduced state is something they would like to see and in what context. We all have memories of RV and we all have a personal connection to this place, perhaps this could be a way to get everybody on-board, or at least those still around, to help define what RV is today in a way that makes everybody happy they are here to see it still exist.
Just an idea, anyway.

Sometime in Fall 2003 - I think it was on or around Halloween - RV hosted a drop party in the Party Room, back when that building was located in Seers' Village. I happened to be nearby, and the rest is history.
Thanks for all the good times, good friendships, the mafia games, the all-nighters in chat. The projects that, although never amounted to much, gave many of us a sense of purpose. Thanks to anyone who ever recommended a video game or anime to me, especially Pyro3000 for his consistently solid recommendations. Thanks to this community, as a whole, for simply existing and giving me the assurance that I was never really alone in my interests or in general.
Thanks to Jaron and Topsummoner for presently keeping our community alive in their own ways, and everyone before them who ever held any position of leadership or obligation to this community, as enjoyable or grueling as it may have been. There are many I could list, but I absolutely have to mention Glodenox, Applequest, and A5chow. If it weren't for their involvement, during some very critical periods in our history, I doubt we would still have what we have today.
Thanks to the Discord regulars for still being there to this day.
