From what I've read I doubt it's going to make LS3 come any quicker.

It's a little mind-boggling how they've got themselves in a position where they seemingly have no time to work on anything but then the things they do have time to work on come out at a snail's pace. I guess though when there are no subscriptions you can somewhat afford to do that, people can pop in and out at any time.

I am liking the changes to the Shatterer too. Here's hoping all bosses are improved to that standard eventually; not challenging but requiring more than afk auto-attacking. Well, okay, maybe leave a couple of the lowbie ones like that.

The most frustrating restriction of the f2p game is that you can't buy/sell a lot of stuff on the trading post. Thanks to level-up rewards though you can get to level 80 and have access to decent gear along the way. So you can get some decent mileage out of the free game and then decide if you want to buy the expansion.

The actual content that HoT offers really isn't relevant until you hit the level cap anyway (though it's worth pointing out that the campaign is much better). Season 2 of the Living World is a separate purchase that consists of story events and zones taking place between the main campaign and HoT. Again, it's not relevant until you hit level 80.

Guardians tend to be more interesting than thieves in all content. They're heavy on frontline support and damage, tend to have a higher learning curve, and are also sometimes nigh unkillable in certain PvP situations. Thieves often have more narrow/gimmicky damage and support roles, though they can deal a lot of damage in PvE.
